Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme! This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

[ Toge opens the door and sure enough, branching to the left is the entrance to a blanket tunnel that leads to the main part of the fort inside his living room. ]

Kelp! [ He holds up a hand in greeting. ]

[ Alluka claps her hands together. She loves that the entrance is right at the door. No need to see the rest of the likely quite lovely apartment. Tonight is about the blanket fort. ]

Hello! That looks amazing. May I? [ She peers at the entrance, stuffed panda hanging over one arm. ]

Salmon, salmon. [ He gestures with a sweep of his arm. Go ahead, Alluka.

Toge steps around to the kitchen so he can tuck a bottle of soda underneath it and grab a bowl of some kind of home made party mix and follow her. ]

Thank you!!!!!!!!! [ Alluka spares no time because she wants to live her existence for the next bit entirely surrounded by blankets. A soft soft world full of friendship and comfort.

She ducks and crawls in, down the entrance to the fort proper. Alluka sits without leaning back against a blanket wall (it might not hold) and holds her panda in both arms. Oh it's a totally different world. It's like they aren't even in Folkmore anymore. They could be anywhere! ]

Fish flakes. [ Toge says, walking under a low crouch because his hand is full, but he's got a good core, he can handle it.

He signs a custom sign, once he sets the drink and snacks down. 'Yuta'. Although it doesn't occur to him, she might not know. ]

[ Alluka's mouth goes wide, and she claps her hands together! Her eyes close, and when they open her face looks... different. Because it's Nanika's face. ]

Yuta here! Yuta here! [ Nanika makes a big smile. She's never met him, but she remembers how the other second years talked about him. ]

[ Different, but not too strange considering everyone he knows. ]

Salmon. [ He agrees, Yuta was here, but he's not around right now. He also shrugs, who knows where he went? ]

[ Nanika loves loves loves that they're here together. Even though they're not together this instant, Folkmore is a lot smaller than Japan to Africa. He's been here! They built this!

Slowly she leans in toward a hug, watching to make sure it's okay. Nanika isn't sure what Toge thinks of her. ] Hug?

[ Sure, he can do that, he makes sure he's set everything down so he can put his arm around her as she comes in and pat her back. ]

[ Her smile grow and grows in a black arc across her face. Nanika wraps both arms around Toge. It's different than hugging Killua because Killua's more of a squeezer than a back patter. She likes both, she decides.

Nanika pulls back. ] I'm sorry you got hurt.

[ He maybe could squeeze her, but it was one of those things he probably couldn't do now. He smiles slightly. ]

Tuna mayo. [ Thank you Nanika, that's kind of you, Toge's thinking and expressing. ]

[ Nanika gives a nod and one last squeeze before she pulls back.

She does the equivalent of biting her lip, if she had a lip. A small round indentation appears across the black arc of her mouth. She might be able to fix it, but she doesn't know if Toge would want her to fix it, and Killua told her not to use her powers. Toge isn't nearly as hurt as Gon was. It wouldn't be nearly as noticeable. But—

She nods one more time. ] I care about you.

[ A pause. ]

What's your favorite story?

Salmon. [ He pats her head, appreciating that she cares for him. He doesn't know what to do that, but he appreciates it. ]

Fish flakes... [ He doesn't exactly know a lot of stories. ]

[ Toge's always nice to her, and she gets what he means. Not that she knows how to show that she cares about him. There's the hug, but that's a little thing.

Her hands twist nervously when he negates about the stories. She looks around for his relic or something to watch stories on. He was going to show her some right? ] You watch things?

[ He sits down and pulls his relic over so they can watch together. He selects a comedic-style cooking show. That was really the kind of thing he watched. It might not be interesting to anyone else. ]

[ That makes Nanika relax. She easily sits next to him, appreciating a whole world made of blankets and sharing something together. It's like they're the only people in the whole world. Plus Alluka's asleep, cozily, like she's completely surrounded by blankets (deep inside her). It's a nice feeling. ]

Oh! [ No one's ever taught Nanika how to cook before! ]

[ Toge just smiles and gestures to it, there, check this out. This was the kind of thing he watched and then he cooked in his kitchen. It was good. ]

[ Nanika watches with apt attention. Her hands even move to imitate some of the techniques. It's incredible! And fun! And the people in the show even have something yummy to eat at the end!

She looks over at Toge when it's done. ] I want to do that!

Tuna? [ Cooking? He asks to confirm, tilting his head a little bit.

Because they certainly can, just not in the blanket fort. ]

[ Nanika nods decisively, exaggerating the motion so it's clear. ] Yes!

[ It looks so much fun she wants to do it herself! And to give someone something yummy to eat! ]

Salmon, salmon. [ Toge pokes at the relic and finally finds what he's looking for and turns it towards her.

It's a recipe for sugar cookies. ]

Takana? [ How's that? Would she like to bake cookies? ]

[ Nanika looks at the recipe for sugar cookies and considers it next to what they made in the story Toge showed her. It's not exactly the same, but Toge chose this recipe specifically with her in mind! ]

Yes! Lets make them! [ Nanika glances around the blanket fort, only now realizing its limitation. Oh. She reaches toward Toge but stops because he only has one hand and that hand has a relic in it. Nanika turns back away and motions out of the fort.

Onto the next adventure! ]

[ Toge doesn't mind, he's coming. Cookies are easy to make, and they're delicious, so it's a win/win.

He crawls back out of the blanket fort and detours to his kitchen, setting up the relic so they can follow the recipe. He should actually have all of these things in his kitchen already. ]

[ Nanika stands in the kitchen at the— almost at the ready. She pulls out her spoon and summons a cute apron as is clearly needed in the baking of cookies!

She looks at the list of ingredients and holds up her spoon questioningly. ] What do we need?

[ Toge smiles and he taps the screen. First ingredient, flour. He goes over and opens the cupboard.

It's on a fairly low shelf, he's short he's not gonna make things hard for himself. He gestures that she's welcome to take it. ]
