It must have been worse for you. Earth seems like it's pretty isolated.

I've heard of this happening but it's the first time I'm seeing it for myself - or with my... face. It's a bit unnerving but you seem like a nice bloke.

That part's not so bad, is it? I mean it's not a bad face to look at.

It's mostly the lack of ships that's weird to me here. I've been flying them my whole life, I'm not used to being stuck on the ground.

Oh, I can imagine. Cross-planetary travel sounds incredible but definitely not the norm for someone like me. Feeling restless already?

[volantes]

I haven't slept in months, so that doesn't bode well.

[ He's only half-joking. ]

Yeah. But a lot of it is about that whole war going on without me.
Or not going on. I know we're not supposed to be missing anything.
It's still a lot of unfinished business for me.

[spktr]

Have you met my brother yet? With our powers combined, we could cause such unintended mayhem.

It would definitely be more disconcerting leaving a dire situation behind in the middle of things. The fox doesn't seem to care what we were up to back home, so long as she gets her piece of us in this realm.

[volantes]

Not yet.
It's harder when most people here know the deal, but yeah, we probably could.
Depends on how much trouble you want to get into.

I'm not sure I believe the whole spiel, but I guess I'm stuck here whether I like it or not, so I might as well learn to deal with it.

[spktr]

I guess we'll have to see how bored we get eventually. Folkmore likes to keep us on our toes though.

It's not all so bad. Everyone here is friendly and helpful, and it's free to live wherever you'd like. There's all sorts of incredible restaurants and things too! I have a feeling you're not the sort who likes to settle though.

[volantes]

I'd feel bad about getting you in my kind of trouble. You're a nice guy, you don't deserve that.

I don't think I would know how. To settle.
I always kind of figured I would eventually. Somewhere.
It makes more sense now than it used to at least.

It would be self-inflicted, I assure you.

Maybe you can think of this as a temporary holiday, of sorts. Something I have a feeling you don't get back home.

What, getting yourself in trouble?

Not for a long time, no. Maybe I can manage that.
Like you said, it's not a bad place to be. It's a hell of a lot nicer than some that I've been in lately.

At least in this case. I'm not usually much of a troublemaker though, I'll leave it at that!

Silver linings and all that. Easier to find when you forget you can't willingly leave.

I got that impression.
There is such a thing as a good kind of trouble though. That's just fun.

It might be hard to forget that part, but we'll see.

We could use a little fun around here to break the ice sometimes.

Yes... I won't lie and say it gets easier. I still think about it all the time but not everyone who followed the fox here wishes to go back home.

I bet you're shy.

I do get it. I'm not the type of person who can just walk away from it, but I understand why people would want to.
I hope things are going better for you back on Earth.

What gives you that idea?

Luckily my Big Problem was taken care of just before I arrived. Conveniently. Suspiciously.

Just a hunch I guess.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, and anyway I happen to be pretty good at dragging people out of their shell.

What kind of Big Problem was that?

Is that so? I don't know if I'd call myself shy, persay, but rather cautious. I think I warm up quickly to the right people.

the kind that would have ruined many, many lives on a global scale.
But crisis averted!

I can see that.
Is it easier or harder with me, since I've got a familiar face and all?

That's... good.
How'd you get caught up in that?

[spktr]

Easier, I think. I wouldn't have said so eight months ago but this place has made the bizarre feel less so. Besides, I look at my own face every day in Marc yet I see someone completely different. It would be the same with you, I imagine.

It's a long story...

Probably, there are a lot of differences aside from what we've got in common.
My personal threshold for weird is pretty high, you see a lot of wild things when you're going from one side of the galaxy to the other.

The kind of long story that you'd rather not talk about?

[spktr]

I bet! Never met another bloke who could be your twin though?

You'd have to get to know me better to unlock that part of my past.

Met a few good looking guys who came close, but not quite that close.
The real trick is finding one who's got the flying skills to match.
You aren't a pilot, are you?

So a personal thing, I get it.
My life ruining crisis is basically public knowledge, anybody who's not living on the fringes of the Outer Rim knows about the Resistance and the war. I'm either a hero or a criminal, depending on who you ask.

Can't say I am, no. I'm guessing you don't just pilot regular planes.

Seems like a common problem for the hero types, including people here. I suppose the event I was involved in isn't a huge secret but the journey there is... personal

I don't know exactly what a plane is, but if it flies I could pilot it. Mostly for me it's starfighters, my x-wing specifically.

What do you do when you aren't dealing with a planet-wide crisis?
