Wish he felt the same way all he kept worrying about was how much the damn thing cost!

Basically a deal with the devil sort of thing from what I have gathered. There's been a lot of evil shit we had to deal with lately. Vampires, undead giants, hordes of zombies you name it!

I can understand how the loss of money, or the gun itself, is a problem but considering that he other option was carrying a demon with him everywhere...I wouldn't be that heartbroken about it.

You led a very interesting life. Are you some sort of hero, then? And what is a Zombie?

Oh nothing much. Just slayed a few dragons and saved a couple cities from evil doers. You know some small stuff like that no big deal!

A zombie? Think about a walking corpse that basically wants to eat your face off and that's about it.

Yes, absolutely small things. Who doesn't do some dragon slaying and city-saving on the weekends?

Can I ask how you stop a dragon? In my world they are bigger than mountains. [ Jayce is not exaggerating, but that's mostly the Celestial dragons. They are stupidly big, that with being god-like. ]

Well it was not easy I tell you! I was an inch away from fricken death but with a little bit of magic and powerful friends like mine we killed the bastard.

[We're talking one death saving throw and Scanlan would have been stiff as a board but somehow he still treks on. He's come to realize that you cannot fear death or fret the little things growing wiser with age.]

I hope they hailed you all as heroes, that was not a small feat.

Shame that the dragon had to be killed, they're incredible creatures, but if it was causing trouble then better to stop it. Are any of your friends here? Perhaps I talked to them.

In fact they gave us our own Keep and proclaimed us protectors of the realm. Quite the noble feat if I do say so myself.

As luck would have it my whole troupe of Vox Machina is here in Folkmore. It would appear I was the last to arrive but you know what they say save the best for last, right?

Getting a big house out of it is a sweet deal, so it becomes the official heroes.

Oh, Vox machina! I know Grog, he was one of the first people I met. We arrived in this world at the same time. He left me with quite an impression.

[ Especially since they met at Wintermute's hot springs after Grog jumped into the pool butt-naked. ]

I have yet to meet the others but I I think some of them also run a bakery?

That's my best buddy always leaving an impression may it be mentally or physically.

Yes indeed! Its called the Slayer's Cake though I have not had the pleasure of seeing it for myself yet either.

I was joking, but I probably do need to go out more for real.

Back home, I never had a lot of chances to take days off. I did go to an occasional party, but those were also work related and not really enjoyable.

Maybe I can think of a few places I would like to check out soon enough and we can work on that tan of yours then.

Sure thing. I've been living in Folkmore for a few months, and I know most regions fairly well.

Having wings helps with getting to places quickly. By any chance, are you afraid of heights?

If I was afraid of heights I would probably be dead by now after how many times I have been snatched up unceremoniously by Keyleth in her giant eagle form. So that's a solid no, Jayce.

Oh, wow. An eagle big enough to pick you up? She must be a really strong familiar.

Not to brag or anything but she and I have actually been able to shapeshift before it was cool here in Folkmore.
