i have a buddy back home, a dog, i had him since he was a puppy too. no good at massages but hes a beast in a fight

Trinket is the best boy. And I ended up with him by rescuing him from poachers when he was a cub. We've been together ever since.

[In fact, this is the first time she's ever been without him.]

Trinket has two sets of armor. I only trust him and my travelling party to have my back in a fight, honestly. The massages are a bonus, but I had to teach him when he was young.

I couldn't just leave him after the poachers had murdered his mother. It seemed too cruel.

[And a good way to say fuck you to the poachers who put her in a cage too. It was hearing Trinket cry as his mother lay dying that gave her the boost to free them instead of crying out of fear.]

I understand how weird it feels to suddenly find yourself alone after traveling with others for so long. I'm just lucky that my brother is here as well.

I couldn't leave him to suffer. Only monsters hurt innocents, people or animals. And Trinket is the most loyal friend I have, even more so than my brother, from time to time.

And, yes, Vax and I are both here. On the one hand, it's comforting, but on the other, it makes me wonder why the rest of our friends aren't here too.

Potential is a vague criteria of worth.

As for your friend, maybe he's needed to do good things here? I'm not sure. I still don't quite understand what Amrita and the rest are truly after. It's not as if they give straight answers. Threatening and bribing doesn't appear to move them either.

He sounds delightful, in an obnoxious sort of way. Reminds me of a paladin I know, honestly. And I'm not sure what you would bribe beings like them with. On my world, in order to get the gods to do something helpful, you have to offer a service. Maybe they need things done for them.

Somehow, I don't know if we'd be boring enough that they tire of us. They seem to be the type to up the ante if we don't react enough the first few times.

Yes. He abandoned us, his family, for his own selfish reasons that amount to his guilt for not raising his own kid that he didn't know existed until she tried to kill him.

As someone who is learning to adjust to the wings as a new addition, I can say that it's a learning curve.
