He sounds delightful, in an obnoxious sort of way. Reminds me of a paladin I know, honestly. And I'm not sure what you would bribe beings like them with. On my world, in order to get the gods to do something helpful, you have to offer a service. Maybe they need things done for them.

Yes. He abandoned us, his family, for his own selfish reasons that amount to his guilt for not raising his own kid that he didn't know existed until she tried to kill him.

As someone who is learning to adjust to the wings as a new addition, I can say that it's a learning curve.

And, no, darling. We're not going to be "buddy buddy". I'm going to shoot him in the ass with a much needed arrow and then smother him in hugs. I might be angry at him, but he's still family.
