Ha! Well, I don't think my smile does, but my guns sure do. I miss my guns.

Yeah, that's the downside. Too many guns, not enough spoons.

How many fucking guns do you have? I've only ever had two.

Man, okay, lemme think here. I usually keep two ordinary handguns, then I've got Valiant which is also a handgun that absorbs magic, I've got a submachine gun, a bazooka, a sniper rifle and probably another two or three handguns in the armiger I haven't gotten rid of, heh. I got upgrades but like...

Then outside of those I've got my audax blade, that's what I've been using, some electric magic flares, an auto crossbow, a bioblaster, a circular saw, a gravity well, a noise blaster, a drillbreaker and a flamebreath cannon. Those are all mechanical weapons I've picked up. Gralean tech.

Man. I need to clean out the armiger. [ Sharon. Sharon. Don't get him started on the details. ]

What the fuck are you, a one-man army? You've got a fucking bazooka. What are you fighting, Prompto?

Haha, really big monsters. I only had my handguns for ten years so I can manage, but when Noct came back I took the chance to take my weapons out of the armiger before...

Before I was cut off again. I have access again but it's empty.

I'm guessing the armiger is something of Noct's?

But, yeah, Thirteen isn't big on letting us arrive with weapons. Which is pretty lame if you ask me.

Kind of. He's the magic guy. I'm just a normal plebe over here.

Anyway, he gives me access to his magic because I'm his Crownsguard. When he's gone, it doesn't work.

That does suck. I've felt really naked without my guns. My blade is cool, but it's not the same. At least I got a weapon. I dunno what I'd do without one.

Oh, that's kind of cool. I don't think I've ever heard of someone being able to grant other people access to their magic before.

I've noticed that we often get weapons back during the Trials when Star Children fall. Maybe next time you'll luck out and find one of your guns.

I'll have to give that a try, I really want my guns back.

Yeah, it's just Noct that can do that. Magic is only a thing for his family in Lucis. The Oracle had some too, but outside of that? The rest of us mere mortals aren't like that.

Is there a special reason they have magic or is it just a weird mutation in their family line?

Kind of a weird mutation, and a pact with the Astrals and the crystal.

It's really all Astral-driven at this point.

Please don't tell me Astrals are, like, gods.

They are. Why, is that bad?

[fogsong]

...just not a fan of beings like that is all.

[promeranian]

Fan is a really strong word. I'm really pissed at them, but I also can't deny they exist because I met them.

Then they killed Noct so you know. I think I get to be pissed. I just don't want them to smite me next. Not that they would, I'm not that important.

They sound like they suck. You're totally justified in being pissed at them, Prompto.

But is that what they did to Noctis? Smited him?

That would've been more merciful really.

They came up with this huge prophecy, starting with turning this guy into a daemon machine like a thousand years ago or whatever. Then they decided the one who had to defeat him was the 114th king of Lucis so you know, Noct. So that fucker spends his time creating daemons and infecting the land with the Scourge and by the time we come around, everything's fine except that after they killed Noct's dad Regis everything in the prophecy came to pass.

Like, no one told us what the prophecy was. Lady Lunafreya knew it, and probably no one else. So King Regis dies and the days get shorter and shorter, which is bad because the daemons come out at night. Until the the days don't happen anymore, Noct vanishes and people die endlessly over the next freakin' decade.

And Noct's job was to come back with the power to vanquish him and rid the star of the scourge and all that but to do that he had to die. Like I don't know how exactly. I know he was impaled on his own sword. Fucking Astrals. Now... I dunno. Sun's supposed to come up but I came here instead.
