Kind of a weird mutation, and a pact with the Astrals and the crystal.

It's really all Astral-driven at this point.

Please don't tell me Astrals are, like, gods.

They are. Why, is that bad?

...just not a fan of beings like that is all.

Fan is a really strong word. I'm really pissed at them, but I also can't deny they exist because I met them.

Then they killed Noct so you know. I think I get to be pissed. I just don't want them to smite me next. Not that they would, I'm not that important.

They sound like they suck. You're totally justified in being pissed at them, Prompto.

But is that what they did to Noctis? Smited him?

That would've been more merciful really.

They came up with this huge prophecy, starting with turning this guy into a daemon machine like a thousand years ago or whatever. Then they decided the one who had to defeat him was the 114th king of Lucis so you know, Noct. So that fucker spends his time creating daemons and infecting the land with the Scourge and by the time we come around, everything's fine except that after they killed Noct's dad Regis everything in the prophecy came to pass.

Like, no one told us what the prophecy was. Lady Lunafreya knew it, and probably no one else. So King Regis dies and the days get shorter and shorter, which is bad because the daemons come out at night. Until the the days don't happen anymore, Noct vanishes and people die endlessly over the next freakin' decade.

And Noct's job was to come back with the power to vanquish him and rid the star of the scourge and all that but to do that he had to die. Like I don't know how exactly. I know he was impaled on his own sword. Fucking Astrals. Now... I dunno. Sun's supposed to come up but I came here instead.

What is it with fucking gods and stupid fucking prophecies? [ A totally rhetorical question because she knows the answer (or thinks she does): because they suck. ]

I think I would make it my life goal to kill the Astrals for that shit. They created the problems that Noctis had to die to fix. What kind of... I don't even know what to say beyond fuck. Fuck that. Fuck them.

Just fuck.

Yeah, fuck 'em. I'm really upset with them. It's really hard to reconcile with my faith and all that. It's not going to bother anyone else. They'll never know it...but I know.

Thanks Sharon. Here though? Noct is here. So for the time being, I feel like I've gotta be here you know?

Hard to have faith knowing what they've done. I get it.

Yeah. You should focus on the here and now. He's here, you're here, you gotta take advantage of it.

I'll figure it out one way or another. So you know I get it, even if it's really commonplace where I'm from. I'm sure you wouldn't be alone. After the years we've had a lot of people must be cursing them too.

I am. We get to hang out again. We barely had a night before he had to go again. It's been ten years.

Besides that though, he's happy.

They deserve that cursing.

I don't know how he could be happy but... Good, I guess.

I think that he knew what was coming. He made his peace with it and he's being given a second chance here.

That, and any time you can stick him on a lake to fish he's always happy. He's such an old man.

That's true. He's been wanting to do this since I met him at fifteen. Spoiler though, it's really boring.

That's no spoiler. I've tried my hand at fishing and just couldn't stop dozing off.
