Yeah. Leah's great, I grew up with her, but she's not exactly the kind of person to give compliments. And Jake can be stubborn.

Not really. I'm the police chief's daughter. He doesn't lecture me very much, but I know better than to say no. Even if I'm thinking no.

No, they're all members of the Quileute tribe and I'm probably the whitest person on the planet. It's just that my dad grew up being best friends with Leah and Jake's dads, so we became friends too.

Sometimes.

More than sometimes. I learned pretty quickly to avoid the jocks and their buddies. It's not worth the headache or the lunch dumped on me "by accident."

Yeah. I do have friends, at least some girls who are willing to help me clean up or borrow a spare top, but it's still awkward.

Yeah, they're definitely not here. [and neither is anyone else she knows, oh dear god] And we wouldn't get in trouble? Not that I can actually throw a punch. Or much of anything. I'm kind of a klutz.

I will definitely take you up on that! Because the fox who runs the fighting school kind of scares the crap out of me.

I think she's the least intimidating. And you should totally finish school.
