I mean, I'm vegan... I'm not sure what to tell you.

Are you one of those pushy vegans? My friend Sarah is like that, she's always like "ughhh Roxy you put so much garbage in your body, you should eat this bland tofu stuff and blah blah blaaaah"

Well first off, tofu isn't bland if you cook it right. And most people DO put too much garbage in their bodies.

But... I've recently become accustomed to sharing a space with non-vegans, so I'm not going to force my dietary preferences onto anyone. I just ask that you show me the same courtesy in return.

All the tofu I've had just tastes bland.

Why would I force my diet on you? I don't really care what you eat so long as you aren't looking down your nose at me and acting like you're better than me just because you don't eat fried chicken.

You should try my tofu scramble! There's no better way to start your day than with a tofu scramble full of veggies and spices.

[ Roxy's line of "so long as you aren't ... acting like you're better than me" hits Henry far closer to home than he'd like to admit. If they'd met before he confronted his father in Oakvale, then... He probably would have been the sort of person to do that. That pushy sort of vegan who lectures everyone on how eating animal products is destructive...

But he doesn't want to be that person anymore. He doesn't want to be the man his father raised him to be. ]

I won't do that. You can have your fried chicken, I'll have my fried seitan, and we can eat at the same table.

Oh, come on! It's just like scrambled eggs, but better for you and better for the environment!

Seitan is a plant-based meat alternative, made out of wheat.
