Welp. The last date, he was cute enough. He seemed alright but his voice was just so monotone when explaining weather patterns. I get the need for small talk at first but I'm not really interested in atmospheric rivers and other weather related talk. I tried my best to ask deeper questions but he always found a way to steer it back towards the weather.

Weather is the lowest common denominator, that conversation of last resort. Now, it sounds like that might be a special interest of his, but oof failure to read the room.

You need better dates.

It was clearly a special interest of his. I felt a little bad in bailing halfway through but I couldn't take it anymore. Not with his voice!

I don't know about falling asleep to it but it did play a part in me deciding that he was unbangable.

IDK, maybe. How else do you get so many bad dates (plural) in a row? Better a bad date of your choosing than a good one of mine? Gotta be a semi-decent date around here.

Have to do more than simply making a post about it. That won't guarantee good hits, and you'd have to filter through a lot of trash and piss people off calling them trash. So something more creative:

Dating auction--instead of betting some currency, you submit a date idea.
Skill competition--cooking, woodworking, you name it. Anything your dream date should excel at.
Blind date show--scout out a few potentials and you get to interview them without being able to see them. Choose one to go on a date with.

So what I'm hearing is that you need a variety of dates, so that even if they're boring or not for you, they tell you something about what is for you.

Huh. I just had an idea. First Date Round Robin. Works best with bisexuals, but we can make something happen to be more inclusive.

I got it. Friend dates and romantic dates. Everyone gives the genders and age ranges they're interested in. It's round robin, but people know if it's a friend date or a romantic date in advance. Friend date? No harm no foul. (But given Familiars, possibly fowl).
