[ She looks over to her date and mouths an 'I'm sorry' to them. They seem a little put off but remain quiet. Is this going to work? Is it really going to be this easy? ]

I'll be there right away!

[ Her attention shifts back to her date after closing her relic and then standing. She resists the urge to shove breadsticks into her purse. ]

I really must be going. I'm so sorry.

[ Sharon has to cover her mouth to keep from snickering and after Kate ends the call, she texts. ]

It worked! I am free! Poor guy though. He's cute he's just so boring. His voice was so monotone. Shame.

Sometimes, people aren't compatible and this spares his feelings! [ ...Sharon, you said the house disappeared. Most people know an 'I need to get out of this' story when they hear one. ]

I'm sure he'll find a lady just right for him, like you'll find the man (or woman) just right for you. I think that means you've got to go on more dates, though, and you're bound to find another dud. [ And that means Sharon gets to come up with more insane stories!! Exciting!! ]

Maybe you're right but maybe his feelings shouldn't have been spared? What if I'm doing him a disservice by not being honest? He can't improve if he doesn't know.

I don't know that I'm looking for a relationship. I don't even know what I'm looking for. BUT! I've been threatened to be set up on blind dates if I don't do it myself. I'd rather do it myself.

Hey, maybe someone setting you up isn't such a bad idea, you know. Sure, you could do it yourself but maybe the person tossing those threats has a good idea.

I dunno, a serial killer might be the ultimate worst case scenario in dating but I doubt a friend would set you up with someone like that.

You know what though? At least a serial killer would have charisma. It wouldn't be boring at any rate.

Some serial killers are right freaks, Kate. You never know if a dude wants to date you because you've got a cute face or because he thinks your cheeks look delicious.
