I am sure they take no insult for there is much better in Folkmore than back home. I am glad fresh produce is one of them for you.

Well, maybe, I don't know. I've never insulted them.

Rarely is there a need to insult people.

Well yeah, but I'm sure people have before.

The number of times I have been insulted is so numerous it is beyond count.

Yeah, me too, but I don't care about that so much. I mean, it's not really a big deal, is it?

The insults themselves, no, are no matter; it is only that the only ones 'brave' enough to insult a vampire to his face, where I am from, are also those foolish enough to attack one. The attacks themselves are more of a problem.

A lot of people insult me without knowing who I am, it's kinda rough like that, but then if they find out who I am they insult me more and yeah, a lot of people are so violent! I'm not really into that though.

I suppose those first insults are the most honest, based on their own interactions with you. For my part, I cannot hide that I am a vampire back home, and I make no attempt to do so here. I believe most people who know of vampires can identify me as one on sight.

I am a trained warrior, and I gladly protect those who need it, yet I too wish so many people did not force matters to violence. Alas, the world is what it is.

Guess you have a point there, I don't think there's any way to get people to stop. It's a rough world so...I think they're all doing the best they can.

In six thousand years, I have not seen a moral way to make people stop. I can handle insults, for most words do not bruise my heart, yet I step in when I must. That is the best course I have determined. You could even say it is simply me doing the best I can, same as anyone else.

I hope in six thousand years that things are better on Noman's Land. I hope so anyway.

I may or may not be there to see it, but I hope the same for the Frontier in six thousand years.

Yeah, I don't actually know how long I can live? That seems like a long time.

I am not the oldest vampire, but it is a long time to live, and even for someone who can live that long, living that long is another matter.

I know. Living a long time is difficult.

Sounds like you've already started it. I hope you find people to make it more bearable, even if only for a time. [ A human lifetime is so short. ]

There's a couple of people that I'm close to. But usually, not really. I can't really stick around most of the time.

While I understand not being able to linger in one place, I doubt your reasons are the same as my own. If you do not mind sharing, I would like to inquire why not?

I have a bounty on my head and people like to try and collect it and cause a lot of damage to the people around me so it's better not to get caught.

I have repeatedly had a bounty on my head, but as a vampire, most people leave that to vampire hunters. There's no point in them even trying.

It sounds as though you must spend much of your time alone, and I have done the same, so you have my sympathies.

I do. I spend time with people when I can. For as long as I can, and when the heat gets too hot I leave. I always come back eventually though.

That is a challenging life, never getting to settle down with people, yet I am familiar. When I came here, I lived alone in the City of the Night, as I have often lived. Alone.

Yet I hope you have some refuge you may return to, to rest and replenish your energy, to have somewhere that is safe or at least safer.

I try not to linger there much so that it stays safe. A couple days every twenty years or so, something like that.

I lose track of time sometimes.
