Story of Us: June
Announcements and Feedback
Hello Folkies! This is our monthly Story of Us post where we get together to make game announcements, ask for any feedback or suggestions, and remind our players of upcoming dates!
Announcements / Info for July
🦊 Thalia is here visiting and helping Thirteen drum up some kind of new creative morale in the realm of Folkmore. Her form of creative unsettlement is a rather literal unsettlement for some, moving various Star Children to new homes with new housemates (OOCly opt-in) for an exciting week of new connections and experiences!
🦊 July brings the return of Baba Yaga to the forefront of the iterations pulling the strings in Folkmore. This means that the weather everywhere will be, well -- foggy, with her fog returning coming from Exile and blanketing all of Folkmore in intermittent-to-everpresent (this depends on where you are, and is up to player choice) warm water droplets. There's a lot of fog. It's dancing at the edges of everything, it sometimes rises up to your ankles from the ground, and the trains aren't as able to use headlights because of those intense reflections.
Places with neon-esque signs and electrical screens are going to have them dimmed as much as possible to reduce glare. Most of Folkmore continues to have a summery feel, but Willow is a bit more humid and up in Wintermute, there are frequent episodes of thundersnow.
🦊 The humming that started back in April? It's still there. It's not louder, most of the time—but it's present the majority of the time now. If it seems to have gotten quiet, it's probably just that your character is getting used to it, and not that it actually seems like it's gotten further away, or like it might be moving. It's just a new normal. ... right? The shaking ground and occasional louder interruptions aren't coming any further inland, so the people of Folkmore are safe from any fallout weirdness (or as safe as they ever are from weirdness) so long as they don't decide to walk on the outer borders of any of the regions or put up a tent at the southwestern border, because that ground definitely is moving.
The spirits are still unconcerned, and any pets brought in from other worlds will be similarly unaffected; this seems to only bother or disrupt Star Children.
🦊 Willow's largest lake seems to have developed a genuine tide. Anyone who asks a spirit will be told that it's attributed to Baba Yaga, and it happens sometimes, don't expect it to last into the next season—by which they likely mean the change of iteration.

This is how you can tell this is Kit, right? Most of them would simply give him funny looks, or ask what humming he was talking about, as if they cannot perceive it at all. Even if the ground is moving under them they are completely unaware of any earthquake.
However, the majority foxes, some corvids, and every single coyote will respond enthusiastically with stories about the last time this happened, though it seems like they don't seem to have the details straight about how it sounds or feels, because it's completely inconsistent with what Tighnari is experiencing ... and also sounds like they're completely making it up on the spot ... because that is what they're doing.

A few people have expressed interest in joining Tighnari to try and investigate the source of the noise/earthquakes.
What would they be able to find if they went looking?
