[ Viktor is thin enough he can scoot his butt through the circle of his arms and thus have his hands in front of him. Using them to get the Ascott from Mayerling's neck he luckily had a little water from the water bottle in the backseat. The Ascott gets soaked thoroughly. It's a bit awkward in handcuffs but Viktor puts each hand on either side of his knee with the soaked Ascott around the chain next to his foot but not on the cuff itself. Then he proceeds to twist the soaked Ascott tighter and tighter until it finally breaks the chain. Viktor is still wearing a cuff on each wrist but they are no longer chained together. ]

Silk has a very strong tensile strength if all the air is removed from the weave.

[ Mayerling watches with great enjoyment as Viktor works his way free. It's marvelous, truly. He's never needed to think to do that, but he files it away in case Thirteen yet again removes his vampiric strength. ]

Impressive.

[ It takes some shuffling about but Viktor manages to get behind Mayerling. The last of the water in the bottle gets used to make sure the Ascott is thoroughly soaked and again Viktor is careful to only wrap the Ascott around the chain. Then he twists like before. And for the record? It has to be twisted really hard for it to work. But eventually, it works well enough to break the chain on the cuffs. ]

But as far as getting out of the back of a police cruiser, I have no ideas.

[ Once more, Mayerling is impressed. He checks out the lock on the vehicle. It truly isn't built for vampires, much less ones like him. ]

Allow me.

[ Mayerling raises one hand up to the lock. It changes to metal, elongating into claws. One claw slips into the lock. With his eyes closed, Mayerling focuses on the mechanism until it goes click. ]

Lets go.

[ Viktor is amazed at the flesh-to-metal and back trick, but also suitably impressed that Mayerling popped the locking mechanism with his eyes closed. And the idea of walking anywhere without his crutch would have once been unthinkable but after Viktor had experimented on his own body, he now had replaced his faulty part with a working one. Since Mayerling was a stranger to him, Viktor didn't need to keep using a literal and now emotional crutch.

He still felt a bit naked without it. ]

Now what? Not much of an escape plan if we'll just be caught again.

[ Mayerling looks at Viktor with curiosity. How much does he trust Viktor? Himself? He trusts himself enough. ]

I can run... fast.

[ He flourishes his cloak around them both in the back of the car. ]
