TEXTS FROM LAST NIGHT
Welcome to Folkmore's monthlyish Texts From Last Night meme! This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.
This can be used for samples on our applications and used as spoons for players accepted into the game!

And food.

And food is welcome. This magic requires a lot depending on how I work.

Unless you have any special requests?

[but there is a knock on the door an hour later]

His cape is hung up on a peg by the door. The room itself has a wide plain stone floor. Kaeya picks up a piece of chalk and ignores the channels of water running on both sides of the room.] Thank you for coming.
Out of anyone I know, you’re the one I wanted to discuss this with the most. How likely is it for someone to wield two elements at once?

[Albedo closes the door behind him before he takes up a place by a convenient table, setting down a fabric wrapped package and a tote bag. Out of the tote bag comes a bottle of wine.]

[Kaeya says, as he walks to the center of the floor. He draws a perfect circle on the floor, him inside it. He looks at Albedo and mentally reaches inside himself for the sea of magic within his soul.
He feeds magic into the circle. Chalk dust flies up as the circle activates and glows pale blue. Power flows back into him. Every thread of water and where it is shines in his mind’s eye. He leans back and breathes in. The water running in the channels goes utterly still.
Kaeya lifts his hand. The water pours into a ball in front of him. Then the heat is sucked out of it as it freezes over. He breathes out hard while he takes hold of the ball. It’s the size of a fist.]
According to the texts, I’m classified as an Aquakentic Prime with a lesser talent in a subbranch of that school of magic. Mages like this are more tied to their elements than we are. It’s very different from a Vision.
[He wipes sweat from his forehead. The heat had to go somewhere. It went into the one freezing the water.]

Almost absently he approaches and pulls out a handkerchief, offering it wordlessly out to Kaeya though he did not meet his gaze. No, he's far too busy doing calculations in his mind.]
Then this is Hydro and Cryo together, so to speak?
[He takes hold of the frozen ball to examine more closely with his free, gloved hand.]

The difference is clear. One is just a process of nature in the hand of a man. It is already starting to melt again. The other shines with pale blue light with Cryo still holding it in the frozen state. He offers the second to Albedo.]
The more I work this magic the more I wonder what Visions really are. A mage here told me that they are a mix of divine and time magic. I’m rather unsurprised the world was different before visions appeared.
[He pauses. Thinks it over then says mildly.] Safe to say here.

[Albedo looks over both orbs before gently tossing the melting one into one of the channels. He offers the Cryo back as he removes his gloves to dry them, revealing slim, delicately shaped hands, but most definitely not actually delicate.]
Have you heard of the cases that came out of Inazuma? Of those who lost their Visions.

[Kaeya dismisses the Cryo ice and erases the circle. He walks over and grabs a battered looking journal. With pen in hand he leans against the desk at the side of the room.
His causal attitude is gone, replaced with the familiar expression of Kaeya Alberich when he settles into his seat of authority. Second to the Acting Grand Master.]

The Raiden Shogun had an active decree that demanded the requisition of all Visions from any resident of the nation of Inazuma save for a select handful of military personnel. Upon removal of said Visions, a former wielder would lose their previously held motivations and drive.
no subject
Did it happen with all of them? [Did those who handed them over willingly lose their motivations? He joins Albedo by the bundle as he fills a teapot and puts it on a warming plate.]
no subject
It was quite the mess. I only saw Inazuma after the rescinding, so I cannot speak as to how it was done.

One would think an Archon would exercise better judgment. [He stares to the side. There are secrets here that could come out. Better he rip off the bandage himself. He focuses on Albedo.] Well, it has been done. And that's quite...a lot to process. Visions might not do that here. I was stripped of it for a trial and was still myself.
