π¦ Announcement
Content Warnings: Potential forced mental/physical changes.
Previously held last May, Never Fade throws another bonfire party centered around an everlasting bonfire to celebrate the season. Spirits from around Folkmore flock to the island for the celebration. Never Fade chickadee spirits strip a tall prominent maypole bare of its ribbons to join their supply of silk ribbons that thrum with magical energy. Some spirits cluck at this theft because it undermines the unity of the maypole danceβthose ribbons represent regions of Folkmore, schools, and even the worlds Star Children are from. Substitutes are sought, and Star Children can contribute their own. They may not be magical, but they are personal.
Removed from the pole, the chickadees set up different activities for the magical ribbons. Anyone with magical ability and perhaps even those without can feel the rich depth of magic. Star Children can even find a ribbon for their world and feel the resonance thrum in their hands. Working together, they fold and tie the ribbons into origami shapes that leap to life once completed. Little ribbon chickadees make more. Star Children are encouraged to join and do their best, no matter how graceless or remarkable it may be. It all impresses the chickadees. Those who weave nests will find the chickadees favoring them every time they come to the celebration.
The magical ribbons are time ribbons, and the more spirits and Star Children alike fold them or tie them in knots, the larger effect it has on the Star Children in Folkmore. They change and become alternate versions of themselves, their memories changing accordingly. It might be a diverging point in a timeline or a massive what if scenario. When people tie and fold ribbons together, it may even merge worlds together so that unrelated Star Children remember each other. The skyβor the ribbonsβare the limit.
Lavender makes an announcement at the partyβreaching the whole realm by appearing before everyone else like a waking dreamβthat dampens some spirits (but not all tricksters): the tying and folding is bad for the universes, both the original universes and the new ones. The old ones are deforming, while the new ones are unstable. Lavender is holding the timelines stable, but the effect needs to be reversed. It's not as simple as unfolding one's origami because the Lore set in this new configuration. The Lore needs to be removed from the ribbons to soften them. Then they can be unfolded.
To remove the Lore, Star Children and spirits need to take the folded ribbons to the Shattered Spoon Shrine. The Lore-poor spoons will drain the ribbons of their Lore, allowing them to be unfolded and freeing both sets of universes from the unnatural effects. Star Children will also revert to their original versions.
Who deserves to stay? Who has to go? The chickadees continue to try to steal more ribbons and encourage people to fold them. The goats take the other side to steal folded ribbons and bring them to the shrine.

- Never Fade hosts another bonfire party with a maypole (yes in July)!
- Chickadee spirits steal the magical ribbons representing Star Children's worlds from the maypole for origami and other activities.
- Star Children turn into alternate versions of themselves!
- Lavender announces this threatens timelines new and old. Everyone gets the message!
- Lavender asks that people take the folded ribbons to the Shattered Spoon Shrine to drain the Lore from them, so they can be unfolded (and undo the effect on Star Children here and their timelines).
Content Warnings: Potential violence, heights.
The Shattered Spoon Shrine echoes with the sounds of visitors, but it still shivers with the lack of Lore in the atmosphere. The spoons present are like dry sponges, ready to absorb. Faint voices seem to trace through the air, strangers and familiar. The volatile Lore densities makes it more dangerous to approach from the None of the Above tunnels. Fortunately, it can be safely approached from the school above it: Lavender Institute of the Mind.
It starts small. One shattered spoon comes together until whole. With a touch more Lore, a Star Child materializes in the shrine. They arrive without any memory of a visit from and journey with a fox. If they leave via the school, it's a safe arrival. If they brave the tunnels, take care to fight ghosts and not fall out of the bottom of the island. The marvel of being first fades as another and another arrive. The Lore drained from the time ribbons directly feeds the shattered spoons in the shrine!
Random though the arrivals may seem, there's a method to the madness. Spoons whose shattered pieces are close together come together faster than those that are scattered far and wide within the shrine. Further, Star Children can resonate with spoons to identify those from their universe or similar universes. It's possible to encourage the arrival of those one misses from homeβor perhaps who used to be in Folkmore.
Every new arrival is greeted by a goat from Never Fade, their personal escort. These goats are loath to let the newcomers leave the island. They hold onto people, plead, or even headbutt catbus. 'Stay' is the clear message. They encourage new Star Children to attend the bonfire, share stories or secrets, eat food, and stay in any of the numerous windmills dotting Never Fade's landscape. Those who leave hear goats bleating at night and in their dreams.

- Star Children start arriving in the Shattered Spoon Shrine without normal arrival journeys.
- Star Children can try to find spoons from their world and donate Lore to them to get people to arrive from home.
- New arrivals are each greeted by their personal goat, who do NOT want them to leave Never Fade
- New arrivals who leave Never Fade hear goats at night/in their dreams.
Content Warnings: Potential social shunning, disappearances.
Golden lines spread faintly across Folkmore, most numerous in areas where newly arrived Star Children from the Shattered Spoon Shrine travel. They bring a bone deep chill in the air near them, no matter what weather or magic is used near them. It cannot be banished, not even should it come through one's home or business. Spirits gossip around them and avoid the lines. The more people cross these lines, the clumsier they get. They trip over a crack in the pavement, a root on the ground, the threshold, or even nothing at all. It becomes common to see people trip. Spirits, usually helpful, shun those who trip in front of them. They refuse to do business or help catch anyone. Another Star Child catching someone tripping belies their bad luck for a while. Help each other out!
A loud goat bleat wakes up an entire neighborhood one morning. Another goat wakes up another neighborhood the next. So it goes. Star Children realize that every time a goat bleats loudly, someone has disappeared. Specifically, someone who arrived via the Shattered Spoon Shrine. They are gone, and the only clues are the goat bleating and their shattered spoon lying near one of the golden lines. The line in question has a thin thread of black void cracking its center. More newcomers arriving via the shrine disappear the same way. The more people disappear, the wider those cracks become.
Magic stops working near the cracks, and nearby objects slip inside and vanish. Buildings straddling the cracks fall in and disappear. Trees disappear, roots and all, leaving only smooth ground. The creatures of Folkmore avoid the cracks, and the rivers reroute themselves around the golden cracks yawning wider and wider. They're dangerous, and Lavender announces that they've destabilized Folkmore. Anyone who misses the announcement finds the barefoot iteration of Thirteen in their dreams telling them personally. Everyone must know because there is a choice to make:
Banish the cracks permanently at the cost of shutting down arrivals via the Shattered Spoon Shrine or halt the progression of the cracks at the cost of destabilizing the realm.
Should the first option get chosen, those who have arrived via the shrine may stay, but no one else will arrive. Star Children will not be able to impact who arrives to Folkmore, no matter how much Lore the shrine absorbs. Should the second option get chosen, Star Children will always be in danger from the cracks if they aren't careful. They could leave not of Thirteen's doing without even a goodbye to their loved ones, no sign but their shattered spoon near a crack. The choice is open. Thirteen will respect it.

- Golden lines spread across Folkmore and turn to cracks. They're creepy and cause clumsiness.
- New arrivals start disappearing. Each disappearance is announced by a loud goat bleat, and their shattered spoon is found near a crack. No normal goodbye messages!
- Magic stops working near the cracks, and parts of Folkmore get swallowed into them.
- Lavender presents everyone with a choice: banish the cracks (and shut down the new arrival system) or keep the cracks as they are (and destabilize the realm).

Questions
no subject
Regarding the ribbons, I have two questions. First, to make sure I'm reading this correctly: someone else could end up folding a ribbon that would then subsequently change a character, right? Second, when a character reverts to normal, how much can they remember the experience? (I say how much can they remember because I am willing to assume there's the possibility of some characters remembering more than others at player discretion, but if this is a false assumption, please let me know!) This question is in terms of memories of the alternate timeline and what actually happens in Folkmore!
As for the vote, just to clarify: this is basically creating a second option for arrival and departure from the game for players instead of the traditional if it's decided to leave the cracks. Am I correct in that assumption or is it only an alternative departure instead of the traditional?

When it's announced the ribbon folding is bad for universes original and new, is it referring to the universe as it exists within the Folkmore bubble? Or the literal home world/dimension the character is from?

Midge Maisel | The Marvelous Mrs Maisel | Familiar
Player Name: Lauren
Player Pronouns: she/her
Player Contact:
Preferred Tag Style: I prefer prose, but I will do action if my tagging partner feels strongly about it.
Monthly Pacing: My tags will be on nights and weekends. Some days (most days) work is exhausting, but I can usually bang out tags on a few nights a week.
OOC Limitations/Disinterests: Not really interested in gore, torture or anything non-con.
General character information
Character Name: Midge Maisel
Permissions: π¦ Permissions
OOC Intro? π¦ Link to OOC Intro
Character Role: Familiar
π¦ Manifested Traits β Midge is able to transform into a chocolate poodle. It will happen somewhat at random, as this is a relatively new ability and she is not able to control it yet.
Public Knowledge: Midge is a comedian from the early 1960s. She lives in Tides and has a regular gig at the Whalefall and also performs at The Underground. You probably have seen her around town dressed impeccably in something period appropriate or one of Rueβs creations. Midge also has a golem named Frank that follows her around, particularly to and from her gigs at night. She also has healing magic! She is being taught by Hawke and got a boost from Thirteen as well.
General CR information
Wanted CR:
π¦ Friends. Always good, regardless of gender orientation or sex, though Iβd like some more female friends for her. Sheβs a relatively good friend, the type that will try to help you get your life in order even though hers isnβt entirely in order itself. Sheβs funny and sheβs a good time.
π¦ Children. Despite not being the best mom 100% of the time, Midge has a lot of
MILFMom Energy. If your character is a child who needs momming, she can mom them. Itβs a part of her life that she wants to work on and part of the reason why sheβs in Folkmore.π¦ Other Moms. Likewise, she needs to interact with some other moms. Sometimes moms need other moms to tell them that theyβre doing theyβre best. Moms with careers during her time are not really a thing. Sheβs trying to figure all that stuff out.
Unwanted CR: I don't really like purely negative CR, but she's A Bit Much, so I get it if your character is offended by her. Rivalries? Letβs talk.
Goals For Your Character:
π¦ Balance β Midge is trying to find balance in her life. She's a comedian and a mom in a time when women definitely could not be both. Being focused on her career has left her feeling like a crap mother. Now she's away from her kids with no way to contact them. It's going to catch up with her, eventually.
π¦ Acceptance β Her ex-husband cheating on her really hurt her and left some scars on her heart. Despite the fact that she knows it wasnβt her fault, and that sheβs better off being divorced from him, Midge wonders if sheβs just not good enough for somebody to love.
Monthly Plotting
Trial Plotting
π¦ Arts & Craftβ Iβm not interested in playing around with a Midge AU (unless you have a really good idea), but she will attend the bonfire and Iβm happy to have her interact with an AU of your character.
π¦ New Moon β Since anyone arriving from her universe is highly unlikely, Iβll have Midge greet some of the new arrivals. If your character is injured, she can probably heal them.
π¦ Facing The Abyss β Midge will vote to seal the cracks. Remember when Folkmore went crazy last September and they all got stuck camping in Agrona for over a month? Yeah, sheβs not going back to that.
Other Monthly Plotting Midge also has an open post-gig log for anyone to interact with her after her shows at the Whalefall.
Specific Monthly CR: Open to anything.
Timeline for the Month: Free game, baby.
Re: Midge Maisel | The Marvelous Mrs Maisel | Familiar
Also he knows nothing about last September XD He's gonna at least for start be considering both options. You have the chance to convince him.

Killua Zoldyck | Hunter x Hunter | 4th Waller (Myth)
Player Name: Xae
Player Pronouns: She/Her
Player Contact:
Preferred Tag Style: Action, but can do prose
Monthly Pacing: May be a bit slow, but will tag as much as I can
OOC Limitations/Disinterests: He's a young teen so some things are just off the table completely, but violence isn't one of them. See permissions for more info.
Character Name: Killua Zoldyck
Character Role: Myth
Permissions: π¦ Permissions
Public Knowledge:
π¦ β Alluka's "big" brother (she's been in game so long she's older than him now)
π¦ β If people know anything about Alluka's family of assassins - he's one of them
π¦ β Anything Alluka might have said about him is open, lay it on me!
Plotting
Wanted & Unwanted CR:
π¦ Wanted CR β Friends, found family, people to "annoy", training buddies/teachers
π¦ Unwanted CR β Pretty open to anything
Goals For Your Character:
π¦ Goal β Just tossing him around to big brother Alluka and have a fun time meeting other people. He's a 4th waller so just getting a feel for him in game and such.
π¦ Exploring β He will do all the exploring, getting into and out of trouble.
Trial Plotting
π¦ Reactions & Thoughts β Killua will be very annoyed by his goat and trying to escape it immediately. Once he knows Alluka is here, he won't be that interested in leaving too soon. Time to check out the people Alluka is close to to make sure they're taking proper care of her (prepare for sus stares).
π¦ New Moon β He may or may not fight some ghosts! He's never fought one before, since the dead usually stay dead in his canon.
π¦ Facing the Abyss β Killua may or may not help people who trip over the cracks, depends on if he cares enough to be bothered. There may be laughing involved over anyone he doesn't help. Will be keeping him around as long as possible, and upon him realizing he'll likely disappear too - try to make the most of it with Alluka & Nanika.
Re: Killua Zoldyck | Hunter x Hunter | 4th Waller (Myth)
She's lost a bit of CR recently, including her guardian, so she's currently living alone, but Killua can totally have Zechs's room on their houseboat. It has... a lot of books.
She's adopted Sharon da Silva and Toge Inumaki as siblings officially, so he should definitely stare at them all sus-like. She's also friends with Sephiroth and MJ. Oh and she'll want his opinion on Vincent, Sephiroth's guardian (she likes him). For uh... people to immediately take aim at XD
She will be very :O at the idea of him leaving again so soon. Like glad to have him as much as she can, but she wants him to stay tyvm.
Other than Alluka & Nanika, I think there could be fun times between Killua and Jedao (former assassin, mid-40s mentally, 450ish years old), Bakugo (only a few years older, superpowers lets gooooooo), and V (will treat Killua as responsible for himself as an adult, even tho yes he is a kid, he's also mid-40s mentally but only a couple months old... ish). :D

Razor | Genshin Impact | Legend
Player Name: Han
Player Pronouns: They/Them
Player Contact:
Preferred Tag Style: Either
Monthly Pacing: Usual speed, 1-2 day reply times on average due to time zones.
OOC Limitations/Disinterests: N/A
Character Name: Razor
Character Role: Legend
Permissions: π¦ Permissions
Public Knowledge: Most people have heard tell of a boy? A man? Who lives with the wolves in folkmore. Eerie folk stories from locals or chance retellings of encounters. Some think he's a ghost, some a myth, others a werewolf or shapeshifter. Old network announcements have made it fairly clear that the wolves outside of Willow are not to be harmed, usually identifiable by leather bands on their legs, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Some may have seen Razor. Or keen listeners might know a bit more. A strong fighter with elemental powers who protects. Sometimes the imagery is angelic, as is usual for a legend, other times it's wolven. Either way, the impression is that he doesn't mingle much with human society.
π¦ [Feral] β Razor was Raised by wolves, and has only learned to speak to some degree. He's been leaning more about human culture but there's a ways to go.
π¦ [Strong] β It's no secret that he's a competent fighter, and he's been around folkmore so long he's almost part of the myth. Be it friends, his pack, or someone in need, Razor will be there.
Plotting
Wanted & Unwanted CR: New stuff! It's been a bit since I really poked my head in here so consider this an interest check.
Trial Plotting While Razor is less involved with things going on in large celebrations, he can join in the ribbons, or more importantly, be affected by them. He will be an advocate for closing the cracks, as he has seen this world break several times, and it's never good.
π¦ Reactions & Thoughts β "Here we go again..."
π¦ Trial 1 β AU's my beloved. Come at me with silly AU ideas. Werewolves, Monsters, GenderSwaps, power changes. My favourite idea so far is just "what if humans never found him" -> Feral wolf guy CR.
π¦ Trial 2 β Nothing specific, but meeting new people can be facilitated!
π¦ Trial 3 β There's a potential for clumsiness angst here but again, I think ideas will depend on potential CR and what we're aiming for. :)
Re: Razor | Genshin Impact | Legend
I'm interested in AUing her, so we could always do some kinda Hunter x Hunter and Genshin AU. Which could get combined with your feral wolf guy idea... just in a combo world. She could be a wolf girl, idk. Plus if you wanted, his powers could be nen-based (hxh's system) instead of Genshin's. Happy to talk out how that'd work!
Baph is lion-themed rather than wolf themed, but there could be some fun interaction there! Bakugo also could mistake him for a bad guy xD Just some ideas!

Sil's
Player Name: Sil
Player Pronouns: they/them
Player Contact:
Preferred Tag Style: Prose
Monthly Pacing: Probably about one day in three no tags, otherwise keeping up with them.
OOC Limitations/Disinterests:
Alluka Zoldyck & Nanika | Hunter x Hunter
Character Name: Alluka Zoldyck & Nanika
Character Role: Familiar
Permissions: π¦ Permissions π¦Opt-In
Public Knowledge:
π¦ Rapunzel β Alluka's spent most of her life within a well supplied room, never leaving it.
π¦ Family of Assassins β Alluka's family are assassins. All of them. Even her younger brother.
π¦ Kuma Lisa Academy β Alluka attends Kuma Lisa Academy. She can often be seen commuting there or just being there. Sometimes she does homework afterward at Catfe. Student-y things.
Plotting
Wanted & Unwanted CR:
π¦ Wanted CR β Friends Her Age Alluka's only made friends with her big brother and to an extent Gon. Let her get to know other teens!
π¦ Wanted CR β Teachers & Classmates OMG such a normal life thing please!
π¦ Wanted CR β Found Family Alluka wants as much family as she can gather. Can you say no?
π¦ Wanted CR β Wish Granting Slow burn, I'd love to plot wish granting with people, both successes and failures. Failures could lead to some people viewing Nanika like a monster x.x Something to process and deal with.
Goals For Your Character:
π¦ No Strings Attached β Besides her brother, everyone has always wanted things from her, even the butlers. Alluka and Nanika need to learn people will want to know them and care for them without her granting wishes or otherwise being useful to them to make them happy.
π¦ Independence β Alluka has been monitored, watched over, etc her whole life. Even exploring the world back home, she has her big brother to take care of most things. She needs to learn how to do things confidently for herself, make mistakes, and learn from them. She's outgoing. It's simply something new and unexplored.
π¦ Exploring β Meet us. Alluka and Nanika have been very careful about how they introduce people to who they are, easy as it is for people to learn or figure that out. That's often involved Nanika being shy. They're trying to learn to be more open about it, whatever the reactions they get. It's okay.
Trial Plotting
π¦ Arts & Craft β Alluka loves arts and crafts. She'll happily participate this, and I am EXCITED to AU her for a short time. She did AUs when she first arrived, so I could return to one of those (JJK, RWBY, assassin in a flower shop), but I'm also happy to canon smash new AUs with people if you're interested!
π¦ New Moon β First of all, extreme guilt on the Causing Problems side. Especially since it may be to her own universe. Most of her AUs, she'd be willing to sacrifice herself/her own version in order to help stabilize her world(s). So Alluka/Nanika will do that! Also she'll feel rewarded because HER BIG (now younger) BROTHER is arriving. OMG OMG OMG. She will introduce him to everyone. HELLOOOOOO, this is Big Brother, the best brother ever.
π¦ Facing the Abyss β Alluka and Nanika have lost a fair few people in Folkmore, including most recently Zechs and Geto. She does Not like the idea of losing people, and she wants to keep Killua here. Also you other nice people. So she overall wants stability.
π¦ Rewards (if any) β Her brother, hopefully.
Gideon Nav | The Locked Tomb
Character Name: Gideon Nav
Character Role: Myth
Permissions: π¦ Permissions
Public Knowledge:
π¦ Swords β Gideon spends hours a day practicing with swords. Sometimes she can be seen at one or more academies. Sometimes around Folkmore. She's usually walking around.
π¦ Housing β Gideon has been living in Epiphany in an apartment with Harrow, near Palamedes. She also now has a small shack/cabin in Exile.
π¦ Weapon Companion β On top of all the normal swords, Gideon has a Honedge companion aka a floating haunted sword. Yes because what every butch lesbian needs is more swords.
Gideon's opinion. YMMV.π¦ Ninth β Gideon's from the Ninth House. They do bones, m*th*rf*ck*r. They wear facepaint. They eat horrible snow leeks. Almost everything is made from people.
π¦ Food = Friendship β Be warned, if you feed a Gideon Nav food, you have made a friend for life. No returns. No refunds.
Plotting
Wanted & Unwanted CR:
π¦ Wanted CR β Face Yourself People who will push Gideon the same way she helps push others. Didn't you know there's a great many ways to deflect on your own issues? Don't let her. She may get pissy sometimes, but at the end of the day, she'll appreciate it.
π¦ Wanted CR β Eleanor Shellstrop School for Self Betterment In honor of her good good friend, Eleanor Shellstrop (RIP), Gideon is working on helping people improve themselves/become their better selves.
π¦ Wanted CR β Gay Hot women who make Gideon.exe stop working. Gay men with solidarity. Let's just all be super gay.
π¦ Unwanted CR β Romance/Sex Gideon may shutdown at like a kiss on the cheek from a hot lady, but overall there's only one person she's interested in, one bony bony lady.
Goals For Your Character:
Trial Plotting
π¦ Arts & Craft β She participated in the previous bonfire. She'll participate in this one and think little of it. Oops undead times. I can make a TLT AU that gets her undead, but if there's a way to do that in YOUR canon? I'd love to plot a mash up AU! (Ideally a form of undead where she's still thinking, intelligent, and herself to a degree, not a zombie... unless it was like an iZombie one)
π¦ New Moon β It's all well and good to try to help Folkmore, but AU!Gideon very much may not want to go away herself. So if someone wants to plot returning her ribbon to the shrine, yes pls.
π¦ Facing the Abyss β Gideon is really used to a stable life in Folkmore and being separated from people from home. Does she wish Cam were here? People who shouldn't have died? Yes. However, there's also a lot of AWFUL people from home, and the idea of accidentally bringing THEM here? MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Hmmm. That said, she'll help clumsy people and crack stuff. And honestly it'd be fun to make her clumsy. XD

Character Name: Altair
Character Role: Myth
Permissions: π¦ Permissions π¦Soul Song Opt-In/Out π¦ Opt-Out
Public Knowledge: What can other characters readily know about yours? What can other players assume their characters can find out easily? Examples include role, manifested traits, job, school, where they live, etc.
π¦ Manifested Traits β When Altair uses his shadow to frighten his enemies he pulls inspiration from a creature from his own life, the sea demon, a giant sea serpent and the terror of the sea of sands. His traits as a myth reflect that: black scales down his arms that are a mix of fish and snake scales, as well as a cluster of eight scales on his right cheek underneath his blind right eye, and a couple on his back that will form the shape of eagle wings the more he embraces his role, black feathery looking spikes on his arms that harden into deadly spikes when he feels threatened, blood red claws to symbolize the blood on his hands that he can never wash off, and fangs that materialize when he's angry and don't disappear until he has completely calmed down. (I had too much fun with his design)
π¦ Favorite places β Never Fade, especially the Shattered Spoon Shrine, Tides, Exile, and sometimes Cruel Summer. In general Altair can also be found in high places. Trees, rooftops, windmills, anywhere where he can get closer to the sky.
π¦ Housing β Altair lives in Leshy. He chose a partly secluded treehouse so he wouldn't have to deal with nosy neighbors so people might not know exactly where he lives, but anyone in Leshy may have seen him around. He also has a secret hideout in Exile so people might see him there too. If anyone asks him what he's doing there he will pretend he's on his way to the Baba Yaga.
People might have noticed a strange black cat that shows up in Exile every now and then. The cat has glowing violet eyes and his body is always partly made of shadows and has a living shadow. (while the cat itself may be public knowledge, its connection to Altair is not, but feel free to make the connection if you've seen him in Exile.)
π¦ School β Altair goes to the Agrona, Baba Yaga and Jewelia schools although he is a bit of an elusive student and only goes when he feels like it. (After being forced into lessons to become a proper noble he doesn't like having a fixed schedule and prefers to learn on his own terms)
π¦ Antisocial Loner β Altair avoids people when he can and perceptive characters might notice that he seems to be particularly wary of people's shadows and visibly reacts when he touches one.
π¦ Chess & Art β Chess is Altair's main strategy for gathering lore. He can also usually be found wherever there is art and he tends to be a bit more friendly when art or chess is involved.
π¦ Magical β Although Altair doesn't talk about his magic, his glowing eyes give it away, also those who can sense magic will feel a faint unnatural and otherworldly energy around him that feels like a mirage. He's not actively trying to hide it anymore so that's progress!

Wanted & Unwanted CR: Found family? Friends? Romances? Rivals? Mentors? Let people know here!
π¦ Wanted CR β Anything! Found family? Friends? Romances? Rivals? Mentors? I enjoy unexpected CR and I love to see how Altair grows in this setting! Some specifics that come to mind are: found family/friends, fellow artists, chess players, fellow outcasts, non humans, and maybe some darker influences to shake things up a bit.
π¦ Unwanted CR β None that I can think of. Negative CR is a fun challenge and I enjoy unexpected CR, whether it ends up being good for Altair or not, so I try not to limit his chances for CR.
Goals For Your Character: What are things you as a player want to accomplish for your character? What arcs are you developing? What are you exploring about their potential? Their role?
π¦ Accepting Himself β Altair has a ton of conflicted feelings about his magic and the things he has done. His self-hatred sabotages any attempt of happiness he has so I want to work towards Altair accepting who he is. Choosing Myth as his role is a part of that since I want him to eventually choose to live for himself. This is going to be a very long road and he will need all the help he can get. I would also like to explore some of Altair's darker sides as well so my end goal isn't necessarily to make him a good person. He could go either way depending on his influences and myth is perfect for that.
π¦ Pursuing Art β Art is a very important part of Altair's personality but he tends to push it aside in order to focus on more important things. He has always put the people he cares about above his own happiness and I want him to start exploring what he wants for once. (I need to do more with his art so if anyone would be interested in encouraging Altair's art please let me know. I know there was a art gallery with some characters but I can't remember what happened to it.)
π¦ Fixing his shattered trust in others β This would be my ultimate goal for Altair. Whether he gets there or not we will have to wait and see. This one will be incredibly difficult given that his trust issues come from his best friend drugging him and selling to nobles who wanted him dead. His blind right eye is a constant reminder why he can't trust anyone.
He made some progress with this but then took a huge step backward when he was kidnapped by Donatello so he's extra salty about trust right now.
π¦ Exploring β I'm working towards Altair accepting himself, including the darkness within him and he will gain his non physical traits as he embraces his role as a myth, same as the scales on his back.
He still doesn't like being chosen as a myth. However, several people here have accepted his darkness so he's starting to explore what being a myth means other than being a villain. As a result he gets random quick instances of his non-physical qualities, giving him a taste of his potential if he embraces his role more. Altair is currently cautious of these abilities since he doesn't know why Thirteen wants them to reach their potential. The last time the gods took an interest in his potential it did not end well. The scales on his back have now formed into part of a wing on one side to show his growth.
Trial Plotting How does your character react to the trials? What do they think of the trials, Thirteen, their role, etc? How will your character participate in each trial? What are their successes/wins? What are their failures/what might they need help with? What consequences will this have? How does it affect their potential for their role and their arcs? What rewards will they receive?
π¦ Reactions & Thoughts β Altair has been in a rare good mood after waking up from the best sleep he has had in years and he got to enjoy sailing on an airship. Time to ruin that with fun what ifs scenarios!
π¦ Arts & Crafts β Altair did not have a good time at the last bonfire party so he will be hesitant to join this one. Unfortunately origami is special for him so he can be roped into it that way.
I love AUs and I have some fun possibilities. (Ryslig CRAU where he was a troll, Fisherman AU where he wasn't chosen as a mage, or the one I'm leaning the most with which is a future AU after the magic from Altair's generation corrupted the Earth and what was left of humanity fled to another world. Kai who I play in Pixie Led is from this timeline and I think it would be fun to make Altair a mage in that future so he can see the consequences of his magic. The threat of his magic has always loomed over him but its always been an abstract fear. I also need to figure out a fun way to adjust Altair's shadow magic to be more chaotic since magic is stronger and more wild in that future. I'm thinking of making him a smuggler to keep some of his fisherman roots and it would be easier to hide his magic if he's constantly traveling. Magic is punishable by death on Nova and future Altair will not give up his ribbon without a fight. Why should he disappear?
π¦ New Moon β The shattered spoon shrine is one of Altair's favorite places in Folkmore so he can greet new arrivals and help them through the tunnels.
π¦ Facing the Abyss β Altair has always been seen as the bringer of bad luck so he will help anyone who trips, while also glaring at the spirits who shun them. He may even cross the golden lines out of spite. Myths have enhanced luck so it could be fun to play with Altair going back an forth between being clumsy and somehow catching himself last minute because of his inherent luck.
Altair already lost his world so he will vote to seal the cracks rather than risk losing this place as well.
π¦ Rewards (if any) β The idea behind the future AU would be to show Altair that life would go on even if magic destroyed the world like he fears, therefore giving him another push to accepting his magic and role as a myth, however his guilt may complicate things without someone to encourage him to look past the damage his magic has done.
Other Plans - Altair now has a Safe Space! It leads to an airship sailing through the clouds and it has an optional Soul Mate link. The link is temporary and only while you're in the space but it's a fun mechanic to play with. (I also want to use it as a test run for anyone who is interested in a real soul mate link with Altair. I love soul bonds and now that Altair has made some connections here I would love to explore the possibility of soul mate bonds with him.)
