Texts From Last Night

Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme! This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.
This can be used for samples on our applications and used as spoons for players accepted into the game!

Ah, well, so is ours, but we lack the ability to use necromancy. Whatever your definition is for that. We're just ordinary humans with the Earth's finite resources, and 21st century knowledge. There are likely several alien societies far more advanced technologically than we are. If there's something better, we'll find it in time.
To find that a novelty again would be an interesting experience. It was something like 80% of our diet for a long time. Even now it's probably still pushing 60% of what we eat. Creativity is a must.

You have your basic thanergy and thalergy. Every living thing has living and dying energy since our cells are dying all the time, even while we're alive. Those get used in different ways. Badabing badaboom there ya go. Presumably Blood of Eden has something else figured out since they don't use necromancy... Anyway, yes, better and better things to come. I'm like ten thousand years after you.
That sounds like a lot of fish. Harrow would be fine. No creativity needed. She was fine on snow leeks. I'm glad you like flavor.

Really? How curious. Well, if you're so far into the future and I can confirm the changes in just a small 3700 year span, then without a doubt things will have changed by then.
I prefer not just flavour, but heat. Now that has been something difficult to come by. However, it was a lot. The choice between eating fish or dying, well, you tolerate it.

They certainly will. Though I swear, some people talk like a thousand years ago is yesterday. 3,700 years huh? You're one of those?
Oh heat is good. Spice! Little explosions in your mouth. Oh, I know how you feel. Snow leeks or dying, it was a close call, but I wouldn't give Crux the satisfaction.

It's complicated. I spent most of it in a state of stasis, although I was conscious. I only worry about my chronological age when it suits me, or it's funny. If anyone asks, I'm twenty-seven.
I've eaten a lot worse than fish. Survival's not for someone with a weak stomach really. You can adapt to a lot. Humans are incredible that way. Spice is definitely the way to go. I remember fondly all the times I got to have various curries and things. Oh, take out places.
Really, at heart, I'm still that spoiled modern kid.

Rule of fun for the win, for sure. Though how you wouldn't die of boredom, I don't know. Never got to ask... anyone that before. But sure, sure, 27 ;) I got you.
MMmmmmmm executive decision NOT to ask what else you've eaten. Please do not tell me. I don't want to know. Oh I'm sure I'd do the same if I have to, but I'd rather not think about it in advance.
Curries are good.
Though you're practically an antique by my time's standard.

I wouldn't torment you, but I will tell you that the lack of take out options and my knowledge of food science has made me quite the competent cook, after much trial and error. Baking was something I struggled with, but Francois whipped me into shape.
Ha, am I? Well if I'm an antique, just remember Gen is chronologically four years older than me, something I will be pleased to not let him forget.

You talk to people here enough, you always have takeout in Folkmore at the touch of a spoon. Something I like about this place.
Ha, meanwhile even if we live to 10,000 I'll never let Harrow forget she's a year younger than me.

True, but there's a certain enjoyment to preparing your own food. Mostly I am impressed enough I can get a bag of flour. Much easier than making it myself.
Teasing Gen is the true pastime around here. I won't let him forget he's much more ancient than I am.
no subject
You say that, but I'm not 100% convinced. That's definitely enjoyment in eating food. Gen already said something about seeing about convincing me it's fun to cook, so I guess you'll both have your chance.
Teasing is a great pastime. *rubs hands together in glee*

Have you never cooked anything at all? I understand the impulse, it was my dad that got me into food sciences. We were trying to replicate the recipe to our favourite ramen, so he could give the formula to NASA.
no subject
Not really. I wasn't on cooking duty at the Ninth House, and skeletons had cooking duty on the First House. I can buy food with Lore here. I mean, I've toasted bread. If that counts.

Plus there was a whole month I couldn't eat.

I suppose if you really hate cooking, you'll survive.

I'll survive, but if I ever need to learn, I can come running over to you two.
