They were still attempting to eat despite the damage done to their body.

I wouldn't call that a loss to humanity. Rather, I believe that is something to be admired. However, I'm assuming alcohol wasn't involved.

Not alchohol, but some manner of intoxication.
I took samples of all the plants nearby for testing.

As of yet I haven't been able to isolate which one caused the problem but it may have been a combination of factors...

I wonder what caused him to be exposed to so many plants. If it was reckless behavior, someone ought of have kept an eye on him. I need to see if he has a guardian...

Regardless, the combination is enough where his pain receptors do not feel anything and probably create hallucinations. Is he somewhere safe?

Yes, he's quite safe. I made sure to leave him at Amrita Academy with strict instructions that he be kept watch over until he regained his senses.

That's a relief. Until he awakens, we need to find out what caused him to do such things.

I certainly hope this isn't a trend you youngsters are doing.

I haven't noticed any kind of emerging trend of this behaviour.

I expect this unfortunate individual is a one-off case, but if I find anyone else in a similar condition I'll have to change my approach.

And how would you do that? Just for my own curiosity.

Improved education of the flora of that area to those frequenting it would be a good place to start.

You know much about flowers than I ever will and I would enjoy learning much from you.

I don't see why not. I'm always in the mood for learning something new and especially when I could use it when we're in a strange new world.
