no offense had been intended, I assure you! as a teetotaler it *did* make my job as a diplomat rather difficult, so you have a leg up on me for your talent to blend in there ^_^

Oh, I'm not bad, but mostly I spectate those.
If you can arrange to have some beverage similar in characteristic, save alcohol, that should help. Those who are drinking may not notice a difference between your bubbles and theirs.

ah, that is a trick I used from time to time! I'm partial to cola - and who's to say there's not whiskey in it? it's a little too dark to pass for most beers, but if people are *deep* in the bag, I'm rather convincing.
