Drop
We are sorry to see you go! We hope you enjoyed your time in Folkmore. Be aware that if you drop entirely (all characters) from Folkmore you will need to be invited back in.
When a character is dropped, the character will become stardust and return to space. It is unknown if the characters goes home or if they go elsewhere in the universe.
Characters will know when a character has been dropped. They will see their close CR appear to them as a stardust-type ghost, waving, before they vanish. Alternatively, they will see that their Foxi profile is no longer accessible.
Hiatus
Characters on hiatus have two options: they can either go about their daily lives or fall into a deep coma, their bodies shining like starlight, suspended in the air.
We do not allow hiatuses with an estimated period of 3+ months. If you frequently take hiatuses and spend more time on hiatus than in the game, we may ask you to drop until things have cleared up. This is in fairness to other players. We are always willing to make accommodations for unique exceptions: please just let a mod know either on this page or privately.
If on hiatus, the player will not have to check in manually; the mods will take care of it.

Character Name: Zanth
Update Details:
(contains: dnd typical violence and character deaths, temporary suicide in the context of breaking a magical effect.)
It’s been a couple of weeks in universe, but a lot has happened in that time.
Zanth and the rest of the party were pulled into a pocket dimension by Swan’s night hag mother Haigha, who turned out to have a plan to protect her daughter by breaking the main villain, Elvina’s hold on the party’s fates.
The party also learned that a deal between Haigha and Elvina had tied Dirk and Swan’s fates together, with Dirk getting bad luck meant for Swan and Swan getting good luck meant for Dirk.
Haigha had intended for this to make her child stronger, but it actually resulted in Swan’s ability to run away from home, and gave Elvina the ability to continue manipulating Swan’s fate for her own ends.
Haigha planned to break this deal by killing Dirk, but Swan broke it by briefly killing herself, only to be revived immediately by K41N.
Elvina was trapped in the pocket dimension by Haigha, who was fighting to keep her there.
Zanth wrote Swan a love letter, and they are (finally) dating, to absolutely no-one’s surprise.
The party investigated more and fought more city council members, in the process finding out that more of the conspiracies were related to K41N, and the fact he was originally a stone child made by the goddess Magdalene, who Zanth grew up being taught to worship.
The crystal that powers him and serves as his mind turned out to be part of the physical form of Magdalene, which she had made to be able to interact more directly with the physical plane. K41N, originally Gabriel, was made to break a curse on one of Magdalene’s people, and given to the founder of Black Creek to raise.
He eventually was killed by his brother before being revived in his robot form. The party managed to recover the various pieces of the crystal that were being used by city council members for power and to create fake AI. Restoring the crystal has made Magdalene able to manifest as a character and help the party. Zanth learned that her warlock patron was secretly another piece of the Magdalene crystal.
Magdalene was able to tell the party that Elvina is a fey/fiend entity from another plane, who must have a physical tether we need to destroy, which has become the main goal of the campaign.
As they prepared, the party moved their loved ones to an underwater castle owned by an ally, thinking they would be safe there.
While they worked towards investigating Elvina, Zanth suggested that Swan reveal herself as a night hag changeling, or at least reveal her shapeshifting, so she could control the way this news became public instead of risking more blackmail attempts. She helped stage a performance where Swan revealed her changeling form, which Swan’s audience and theatre company both accepted and supported.
The party found out that the person likely to have the most information on Elvina was Zanth’s university boss, Hurk Ekie. Hurk had holed herself up in her own, intellectually distinct, pocket dimension made of ice, which the party had to find a way to transport themselves to. Once there, they found out that Hurk had defected from working for Elvina, and was looking for a way to defeat her.
The party helped to empower a scrying spell where they were able to get many answers on Elvina’s history and nature, but the most important part was that her physical tether is the current mayor of Black Creek. Zanth also found out that meeting her patron, getting kicked out of her childhood village, and the accident that got her kicked out of college were all arranged by Elvina.
Just as they learned this, Elvina killed Haigha and broke free, before appearing in person to kill Hurk and threatening the party.
They returned home to find the city council threatening the underwater castle and holding everyone’s important NPCs hostage. It was surrounded by an anti-magic field keeping anyone from leaving. There were also warrants out for the party, who had to go into hiding.
While Swan distracted the public with a dramatic, somewhat villainous monologue about tearing down the government for justice, Zanth took down the anti-magic field to let the hostages teleport away.
Everyone’s loved ones escaped successfully, though one important NPC was injured and others less close to the party are still captive.
The party is preparing to try to assassinate the Mayor at his annual Christmas speech.
Mental or Physical Changes: Nothing major; she’s happy about having a girlfriend back home, so she’ll be sad that Swan isn’t here. She's also having a bit of a crisis over how little agency she's had in her life.
Power Changes: She’s now a level 3 Battlesmith Artificer as well as a level 6 Ghost in the Machine Warlock. Her biggest new ability is being able to build a steel defender (details in the battlesmith link). Would I have to spend spoons on that? It’s a class ability with handwaved materials. Her specific one has some homebrew abilities, which I can copy in full if I need to.

If there is a specific guardian back home Zanth wants, it could be a TDM reward or a purchase.
