Drop

[ Full Navigation ]

We are sorry to see you go! We hope you enjoyed your time in Folkmore. Be aware that if you drop entirely (all characters) from Folkmore you will need to be invited back in.

Please let us know you are dropping in the appropriate section below so we can process your drop.

When a character is dropped, the character will become stardust and return to space. It is unknown if the characters goes home or if they go elsewhere in the universe.

Characters will know when a character has been dropped. They will see their close CR appear to them as a stardust-type ghost, waving, before they vanish. Alternatively, they will see that their Foxi profile is no longer accessible.

Hiatus

Characters on hiatus have two options: they can either go about their daily lives or fall into a deep coma, their bodies shining like starlight, suspended in the air.

We do not allow hiatuses with an estimated period of 3+ months. If you frequently take hiatuses and spend more time on hiatus than in the game, we may ask you to drop until things have cleared up. This is in fairness to other players. We are always willing to make accommodations for unique exceptions: please just let a mod know either on this page or privately.

If on hiatus, the player will not have to check in manually; the mods will take care of it.

Please let us know you are going on a hiatus in the appropriate section below.

Update

Player: Angel
Character Name: Viktor
Update Details: Through season 2 of Arcane Viktor is systematically giving up parts of his humanity or his ability to feel any emotion when he was already isolated because of his disability. He had Jayce promise him in season one that Jayce would destroy the hex core. Season two starts on the cliffhanger that was between the seasons and the council room where Jayce, Mel, and Viktor are is hit with a rocket blast. We learned through the season that thanks to Mel's unwitting intervention Jayce is able to walk away without a scratch. But Viktor was (I believe) killed in the rocket blast. This would mean that Jayce performed some crazy necromancy on Viktor that ended up with him being fused with the hex core. So now his entire body has been changed into a mix of magic and metal. By the finale of the series, Viktor has God-like magic powers but to allow for that he has little to no human emotion. In fact, he doesn't look even remotely human. The very end of the series shows him getting Ekko's Z-drive thrown at his face, which does the impossible of breaking through the Herald enough to reach Viktor himself and then turning back the clock on whether or not Viktor can feel emotion. With that ability given back to him, he is able to see the end of the story a hair's breadth before he would have done it. The story ends with the void magic sterilizing the entire world of life. Though he thought he was following his logical side, he was really being manipulated by the hex core. And Viktor is horrified. Horrified enough to be willing to do what he is afraid of the most, die alone with no one to remember him so it will unmake the anomaly under the hex gates. In the end, Jayce wasn't willing to let Viktor die alone and both were pulled into the acceleration rune. Since that is how interdimensional travel is shown in the League of Legends franchise, I suspect we'll see one or both again sometime later. It was a really lovely ending for the show.

Mental or Physical Changes: He's been fused with the hex core and so has god-like (there is quite a bit of Messiah imagery) magic powers. From what seems like healing and creating a peaceful commune at first, we see him unwittingly making a hive-mind and it's not really that clear when he realizes what it was he was doing but still choosing to keep doing it.

He is a self-nerf in that he has these phenomenal cosmic powers but is terrified of ever using them. In gameplay, I will always get the other person's permission before he ever uses his magic on someone specific since it concerns the mind and knowing something in their memories through a single touch.
Power Changes: Yes, there definitely has been a change in the power level. The show keeps specifics very vague but we've seen several examples of him using magic on even more than one plane of existence. And I believe everyone who was connected to that same hive mind in the very end knew exactly what happened to Viktor and Jayce. Well right up until they teleported.

(I've not done a canon update in over a decade, please forgive me if I've done something wrong)

Viktor's new body

Even if he seems calm, I believe that Viktor was devastated by Jayce fusing him with the hex core. It means that his entire body is a mix of magic and metal. In gameplay, I'm keen to explore what that means.

The first time Viktor heals people

He first ends up in the leper colony of Shimmer (a street drug) addicts and that is how he starts building his commune. He is also unwittingly creating a hive mind because as he heals the body he's taking over the mind.

Viktor tries to help Warwick

As you can tell, Viktor is himself when on the astral plane. I will play him like his ability to emote is being muffled by the hex core, but he's still in there. It might be possible to remove it in gameplay at a much later date since when he's an old man both his magic looks more unique and he has golden eyes again.

Viktor's ability to know what people are thinking with a touch

Viktor rarely touches people and it's even less likely now that his body has been radically changed to metal. In gameplay this would only be applicable if the other player wants it.

I can't find a YT clip of him using magic to affect the 'real' world while on the astral plane, but that's after the point that he decides human emotion is a problem, which the finale proves otherwise.

Series finale and old man Viktor

After canon update he will have seen that the multiverse is a thing. He's shown to be ridiculously OP which is the polar opposite of being a sick and disabled man who was physically weak. But in gameplay he's now truly terrified to ever use any of the magic he can access on organic people, so he will spend the majority of his time re-learning which emotion goes with what reaction. Right now, it's all a chaotic storm and though he might seem calm, it's overwhelming to him. It may be possible to actually heal AI and robotic people since in season 1 he's shown to have an affinity for making clockwork and robotic toys before he starts studying magic. And he wouldn't be able to take control of their minds if he used his magic to heal them, but again, that would be up to the other player.

Shoot, the last clip didn't post because of HTML fail and I've since done other stuff on YT and can't find it.

The robot stuff was because Arcane departs so radically from the old lore for League of Legends. I was jazzed for Viktor to become a cyborg, but Riot has since retconned Viktor and changed him into 'The Herald of the Arcane' which has caused a ton of discourse in LoL. But! Learning that robots/AI are safe for his magic from another character can definitely be a thing!

Thanks ya'll :D
