[ At over 6,000 years old, Mayerling is patient. He's simply hoping for friendship, while being open about what and who he is. For those who haven't heard of vampires, that involves more of an education. ]

Some of the libraries include fictional stories or films about vampires. None of these would represent vampires that are or have come here. The only way to learn more factual information about vampires is to speak with people from worlds with vampires, I am afraid. It is a more laborious work.

I do not drink blood from any living being, only synthetic blood.

As for my world, before my family invented it, when vampire civilization still stood, blood tithes were typical. These were mandatory but generally agreed upon. In return, the vampires in charge of the sector protected all humans in it. Many in my family sacrificed themselves for it. They were known for being near unbeatable in battle. The only weakness being the humans they protected, so deals would be struck—their lives for those of the humans they protected.

However, we were in the minority, believing in vampire and human equality. Most vampires treated humans abominably, and that is why vampire civilization fell and why vampires will go extinct in my world.

That is only my world. Vampires aren't a monolith. Some good. Some bad. The same as any other sentient species.
