TFLN aka Tales From Folkmore

Texts From Last Night

Welcome to Folkmore's Texts From Last Night meme! This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.

This can be used for samples on our applications and used as spoons for players accepted into the game!

[ Cassian, maybe you need to meet better people with no stabbing tendencies. They do exist. ]

The ones here wake up and wait for instructions if you go near them. They just want to help, but they don't seem to be able to think on their own. I find them a little sad, and so does Viktor. That's why we wanted to give ours a  chance at becoming his own person.

I've never heard of those languages before. Is binary a robotic language? I should try to see if teaching Blitzcrank new idioms could help him, thanks for the idea.

Basic is what almost all humans and most of the other species speak. Some of them, their mouths aren't shaped right and they can't. Or they just don't want to. Binary is just for droids but only because it's all beeps and whistles that are pretty much impossible for an organic mouth to replicate. You can learn to understand it, though.

Is it a power saving measure? Is that why they spend so much time in stasis?

Got it. In my homeworld, we also have a language that is fairly known across all lands, and then some specific ones for each species. Velarian is what would be considered our 'basic'. Perhaps some sort of binary-to-basic translator device could be invented. Like how the relic here works? It could save people and droids a lot of trouble.

I'm not sure, really. Some of these Golems are very old, they even have moss growing on them. I figure it must have been Thirteen or some other locals who created them, but there's not a lot of information about Golem. And getting any answers out of the fox is tricky at best.

There is a translator. It's always installed in protocol and security droids. Sometimes you can rig others with it, depending on the shape of the chassis. The galaxy is a big place, I'm not sure there's a relic big enough that could reach all the way from the Core to the Outer Rim.

If it was tech of some kind I could probably give you an estimate of what era it was from. Some of the more recent ones are easier to pinpoint the year and place of manufacture. But that sounds like some kind of Temple stuff. I don't know anything about that.

Very useful.  Protocol droids? Do you have droids for that? Gods, that sounds fantastic. I have to do a lot of PR for Hextech but it's exhausting, if only a droid could do that for me, it would be a dream.

[ Jayce is polite and likes to talk to people, but sometimes it gets to the point where he just wants to go back to his laboratory or forge and bury himself in fun work. ]

Ah, it's all right, don't worry too much about it. Temple stuff, as in, religion...?

Yeah if you have to talk to a Twi'lek who only speaks Huttese while trying to broker a deal with some Jawa and trying to figure out what the Anzellans are saying the estimate of repairs is going to be, there's not that many people who just know enough of all of those languages to make it work.

Yeah, I think it's some kind of religion. I don't know, they wear robes and don't do much as far as I can tell. But a lot of their stuff is old.
