I can't imagine you'll have any difficulties achieving that. If that's what you want.

[ Finding willing partners...? Or experimenting scientifically? Look, K isn't sure if it's strictly a metaphor. Maybe Jayce is lonely. Maybe he's changed his mind about preferring feelings to be involved. ]

Achieving the fuck arou---? Oh! No, no, I'm not talking about literal intercourse. I learned about the concept of 'fuck around and find out' while reading some magazines, it means doing something disruptive or risky -and fun, I think?-, and then having to deal with the consequences. 

[ There's a pause during which Jayce realizes what K was implying at first. Jayce is lonely, yes, but some mentalities haven't changed. ]

Uhm, thanks, K. I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble yourself if that's what you wanted, too.

That almost sounds like a proposition.

[ It doesn't. Jayce just set himself up so perfectly for being teased, and who is K to resist? ]

So in the colloquial sense. What sort of risky but fun endeavours are you longing for, then?

[ K, why are you doing this to him? Jayce is getting all flustered. ]

Oh. Sorry, no, that wasn't what I meant. Not like you wouldn't be a great catch or anything! Anyone would be lucky to have you. [ And frankly, he thinks K could do better. ] I'm already with someone back home, her name is Mel. Well, we never actually made it official, but...things happened. 

[ K already knows Jayce doesn't do one-night stands, so what he means by 'things' should be pretty explanatory. ]

I don't know, just something fun. Work on all those science projects that back home I never had time or resources to do, train to be a better fighter... learn some magic, maybe. That last wish has been difficult to accomplish, though. I don't have any natural talent for the arcane.

[ Wow, Jayce, could you reject him any more earnestly. The surprising pang of... mild hurt?... that it causes makes K realise the teasing has definitely backfired. And now he isn't sure if he can ask after Jayce's love at home without making things even more awkward.

Mentally facepalming forever here. ]

I've recently (re)manifested elemental abilities. If something like me can wield magic, I have no doubt you can learn to do even better. What sort of training do you have in mind? Hand-to-hand combat, something else? Maybe I can help.

[ He isn't trying to make K's life difficult or hurt him, Jayce is just terrible when it comes to teasing and flirting. Half of the time he doesn't even realize it's happening, so when he does, he gets startled. ]

There's nothing to apologize for, K.I'm bad at these things too. I understand now that you were just joking. I didn't want to cause a misunderstanding, my bad. 

[ Maybe it's better if they move on, yes. ]

You have manifested them before? That's incredible. How does it feel? I'd love to see what you can do. And I can only hope you are right. Hand-to-hand combat to start, yes. I'm just a baseline human, but being a Legend has given me extra strength, and I want to learn how to control it so I don't hurt anyone by accident.

[ NO! He does not!!!!! Jayce would never hit K on purpose, K is his friend. ]

[ The rejection itself isn't surprising, and he knows it's quite silly to feel... however he's feeling. Because it isn't as though an android would be anyone's first choice even if circumstances were different. C'est la vie. He almost wants to ask if Jayce has also rejected any of the non-androids who have teased him like that, but worries the answer might make him feel worse. "I'm the problem, it's me," as a wise songsmith once said. ]

It's all right. I hadn't meant to cause a misunderstanding. I'm glad you were honest.

It's complicated... I apparently had these abilities before in another world sort of like this one, the memories of which have been coming back to me over the last few weeks. It's strange. I'm relearning how to control them. But if you'd like to physically spar, we could.

[ The thing is, *IF* circumstances were different, Jayce would have no issue considering K's advances if the other man were really interested, android or not. He doesn't care about species, gender, or if someone was born or manufactured. The only thing that would matter to Jayce is that the person chooses him of their own free will. And if K ever asked, Jayce would tell him that yes, had politely refused - those times he actually realized what was happening- advances from other people who were not androids. He tries to be a loyal man. (And that one is a great song). ]

It's fine then, don't worry too much, either. For what it's worth, I was also being honest with you. If I wasn't with someone already, I wouldn't have minded discovering what could happen between you and me. 

[ Jayce hopes he isn't making things even more awkward by admitting that. He likes K and trusts him enough that Jayce has been more open with the replicant about his past and his feelings than he has been with others. ]

I think I get it. I talked to other people who mentioned something similar. They were pulled out of their universes and into a different one, that wasn't Folkmore, before finally ending up here. I'd love to see your new...or rather old-new abilities too! No reason why we can do both.
