December 2022 Trial Event Plotting
Trial 8 Plotting Post
Welcome to our plotting post for this month's event! This plotting page doubles as our monthly CR meme. If you have questions about the trial, ask them below.
All the glitter from November has faded away, but the shinning stars remained, leaving the night sky bright all through the month. Kuma Lisa is still the current iteration of Thirteen, however characters will often see her in her Fox form that has now turned pure white to match the snow that covers most of the land (with the exception of Cruel Summer).
The nights are much longer than before and the cold outside makes Star Children want to cuddle up with someone to keep warm. Despite the cold, however, the night will feel always beautiful and peaceful, which the Star Children might find comforting. Every night paper lanterns will be released to light the streets and stores all around Folkmore; these will magically remain in place until the end of the night, rather than floating away. When the day comes, they will rise up and disappear.
The days, in contrast, will feel a bit more grey and listless. There won't be a lot of light and everything seems a lot slower than usual, lacking the spirit of the night. Star children may feel a bit more depressed than usual but if they reach out to others this feeling may be eased.
Feel free to use the following form for your plotting and CR needs.
Reminders:
π¦ As of this month, the CR Meme and Plotting Post are combined. The form above reflects that.
π¦ KARMA IS A CAT and ANTI-HERO prompts from last month's trial are still in effect. Read more here.
π¦ The game will alternate between high and low intensity events each month. December is a low intensity month.

MIDNIGHTS
β
The calm, cozy vibe that settles over Folkmore in December also encourages people to reach out to others. For some that might mean visiting a select few friends, for others it may mean throwing dinner parties or other get-togethers. Especially in the evenings, the urge to be with someone else is common.
And really, lounging around in a nice warm house with someone to talk to is such a lovely way to spend your time. Why, you might get to talking and the next thing you know the clock is chiming midnight.
Whatβs that? You donβt have a clock? Oh. Well. Thereβs a chiming noise anyway! Accompanying this is the sudden appearance of a full-length mirror. It may be suddenly hanging on the wall, or appear in the doorway when you get up to use the washroom. Itβs somewhere, and when you find it youβll see yourself smiling back at you. Even if youβre not a smiler.
Your reflection is obscured, however, by a powder blue post-it note stuck on the surface of the mirror. On the post-it, in your own handwriting, is a word, or a phrase, or maybe several thoughts quickly jotted down. It may even be a drawing. However it is articulated, the content of the note is very simply some personal issue of your own making, something that holds you back in life. It is, in words or pictures, one of your self-made cages.
If you cannot see any of this, thatβs alright - your companion probably can, and will no doubt relay all of this information to you.
This could be awkward for you, seeing something so personal laid out so simply in front of someone else. Or maybe youβre at the point where you just donβt care anymore. Talking about it can be very beneficial - you will feel lighter, more free, and more emotionally stable.
When you pull the post-it off of the mirror you will feel an intense relief as some part of you accepts that itβs time to let go of certain behaviours or thoughts. This isnβt necessarily an instant cure, but it can be a very important first step.
And if you are lucky, your mirror self moves, holding out something from your homeworld to you. You may see as many reflections of yourself as you wish this month, but this gift from you to yourself happens only once. After you have removed the post-it and possibly received your present, your mirror self fades away and the mirror goes dark.

I NEED TO FEEL SOMETHIN' β
Content Warnings: Sensory deprivation/loss.
The calming atmosphere of Folkmore this month may encourage people to reach out to one another, but some people are just naturally more shy and prone to introspection. For some, the temptation to stay inside and just watch the snow fall down from the sky in silence might be too enticing to resist.
The more you go into hermit mode, however, the more you will notice the world changing.
Itβs very subtle at first: smells seem a little less intense, colours more washed out, music quieter. It becomes harder to physically feel things and you will become prone to dropping objects. Itβs almost as if your perception is being blanketed by snow, numbing your senses. Your body will grow gradually colder as you catch the slowest chill in history.
It is possible to get frostbite from this, and to lose all of your senses, but it takes a long time - you would have to ignore it for literal weeks.
So whatβs the cure? Come on. You know by now: you need to be around people. It doesnβt matter if it is people you like - you can be around your sworn enemy and it will immediately and quickly begin to reverse the effects. By the time youβve spent an evening with someone you will be back to your old self! Whether that evening is spent hanging out and having a good time or screaming at each other is irrelevant.

QUESTION...?β
Content Warnings: Mild stalking by cute monsters.
While the days are not particularly exciting, December evenings do hold more than just hot cocoa and conversation. Both Willow and Epiphany have public ice rinks open, and there are concession stands at both selling hot drinks. Wintermute has its hot springs, and at night they are lit up with hundreds of small twinkling lights. Cruel Summer, the least affected by the cold, has dance parties thrown around bonfires that last from sundown to sunrise. You wonβt be able to wear your skimpiest outfits in the cold desert air, but you should be able to stay warm enough if you stay near the fires.
Whether you choose to attend a winter event or just stay in your home, you may find yourself haunted by a rattling noise. It sounds like someone shaking seed pods, or perhaps small stones. It starts soft. Solitary. Take a look around and youβll find the source soon enough: a small white humanoid figure with an oversized head. It doesnβt have a proper face, just large black holes to vaguely suggest eyes and a mouth. As you watch, the creatureβs head tits unnaturally far to one side and then snaps back into place, making the rattling sound.
You will find that more and more of these little guys start popping up, following you wherever you go. They donβt try to hurt you or get in your way, but they still seem to be herding you somewhereβ¦ or rather, towards someone.
Yes, once you find yourself around someone else (whether you know them or not) the creatures will more or less surround you both, their heads rattling and rattling. The only thing that makes them settle down is when you and this other person get closer, physically or emotionally. And the only way to make them go away for good? You need to share something. Whether a dance, a kiss, or a secret - there must be a personal exchange of some kind. Only then will the creatures wander off, seemingly satisfied with a job well done.

Baphomet | The Wicked + The Divine | "Myth" (Familiar)
Character Name: Baphomet | Cameron
Permissions: π¦ Permissions
OOC Intro? π¦ Link to OOC Intro
Character Role:
Myth.Familiar.π¦ Exploring β Baphomet thinks he should be a myth; more than that, he wants people to think he is a myth. He's the bad guy, the scapegoat. Toxic masculinity? The mythic act? Those are defense mechanisms he hasn't entirely let go of because he's afraid of the physical vulnerability that comes with emotional vulnerability for him. He's not a myth because he never wanted to be a god. He wanted to help and support someone else. He wants to live. Big time players (heroes and villains) are fun in games, but they're less fun for realsies. He needs to realize that for himself and move toward letting others in on that.
Public Knowledge:
π¦ No Home? β Baphomet cannot be found living in any of the known housing. Perhaps he has a super secret hidden cottage in Gram?
π¦ Godhood β Baphomet's open about being a god when asked.
π¦
FinalCountdown β Since Best!Baphomet performed at the talent show, it's public information he expects to die within 6 months. If your character does/did the math, he's expecting to die April 24, 2023.π¦ Animal Companion β Baphomet has a shiny Shinx companion much of the time.
General CR information
Wanted CR:
π¦ Wrecking These Walls β People slipping through his walls. Sometimes we may plan it. Sometimes it might happen organically.
π¦ Friends β Baphomet has been isolated and cut off from his friends for months. He needs to reconnect and make them anew.
π¦ Nerd Alert β Secretly, Baphomet is a huge nerdβarcheology, comics, languages (including fictional ones), religion, RP... This nerd packs it all in. He shows bits and pieces here and there. That's your chance to nerd up and come together.
π¦ Gods β Come to deity club. Lets compare our shit and be awesome together.
π¦ Respect the Fourth Wall β Characters Baphomet knew as fiction. Note: Baphomet will never break the fourth wall unless desired. He canonically references so many fandoms present in this game, he's having a little nsakljdbfhfj moment. Regularly. (Don't let Captain America get disappointed in you, guys!)
π¦ Rebound β Per Vex's excellent advice, Baphomet is keeping things casual romantically/sexually. He's open about it and up for more respectfully casual partners. Fade to Black/Commercial Break style writing.
Unwanted CR:
π¦ Bad Relationships β Jealousy, possessiveness, gaslighting, and/or other abusive type interactions. I'm interested in writing his recovery/path toward life after getting away from an abusive partner, not continuing the cycle.
Goals For Your Character:
π¦ Recovery From Abuse β This ties in directly with the above. However, it's worth noting too. He reached the point of stepping away and deciding to leave the abusive relationship. Coming to Folkmore gave him a clean break. That's the beginning, not the end. He needs to learn safety, setting healthy boundaries, letting people in, not acting out so he'll be punished, etc.
π¦ Familiar Goals β Baphomet needs to accept that he is a familiar because it's what he truly wants. Only then will he be at his best and healthiest. Some people may be their best as Myths. Him? He likes being support.
Specific CR for the trials: Expanding access to the underground, people who keep him in the loop, etc. See above and below.
Trial information
Trial Reactions & Goals:
π¦ Goalible β While Baphomet knows there's nothing necessarily intrinsically evil with the push toward intimacy, he's scared of it nonetheless. It helps push him down his arc, but it'll be hard (in that way of knowing something that "shouldn't" be hard can be). Not much change in feelings toward Thirteen or Folkmore.
π¦ Developing the Underground β Baphomet will start developing a semi-public social space in the Underground where he will first bring people to but then others can also bring new people to.
Trial Accomplishments:
π¦ I Need to Feel Somethin' β It's hard to feel one's senses go living in a black shapeless formless quiet void of a dimension you've only started building in... with the heads up, however, Baphomet will invite others back into at least some public portion of the Underground. These can be people he showed it to last month or new CR!
π¦ Question...? β Without warning, ha, Baphomet will make a joke or two about the audience. He'll have an easier time with physical sharing. However, he has more than enough secrets to pick and choose through those too if that's what someone is more comfortable with. Be warned, it might be punny.
Trial Failures:
Timeline of Trials: Mixed.
π¦ Late in the Month β Midnight post-it.
