November 2022 Trial Event Plotting
Trial 7 Plotting Post
Welcome to our plotting post for this month's event! This plotting page will not include any generic mingle introductions found on the live event. If you have questions about the trial, let us know down below!
November is a dazzling month. There will seem to be an excessive amount of stars in the sky and even daylight has a twinkling glimmer to it. You may even wake up with glitter on your pillows that vanishes after a few hours. The Kuma Lisa iteration of Thirteen can be seen the most throughout Folkmore during November, her hair in a high ponytail and a bounce to her step. If anyone thinks to ask what has put her in such a good mood, she will reply with: "I'm just so proud of how far some of you have come."
Feel free to use the following form for your plotting!
Content Warnings: Mild warped personalities, increased extroversion.
The sky isn't the only thing glittering in November: the Kuma Lisa Academy is shining like a jewel. A strange, magical gleam has seemed to take over the school and those who regularly attend Kuma Lisa will find themselves filled with confidence that they may usually lack. Lessons will come easier, skills learned quicker, and overall, it seems to pay off being a diligent student this month!
But worry not, Star Children, from Kuma Lisa is gracing the rest of the realm as well. Avoiding stars is paramount this month but the glitter? The glitter will likely only serve you well. Just walking outside and getting a bit of glitter on your skin will be enough to improve anyone's mood. It can increase feelings of playfulness and courage. Breathing it in may make you giddy and in some cases flirtatious.
More importantly, though, the glitter will make everyone feel like they can accomplish anything and like they have something worth showing off.
And what better way to do that than at a Talent Show? Kuma Lisa herself will be walking around throughout Folkmore during November encouraging all citizens to swing by the Kuma Lisa Academy in the evening on all weekends of November to gather for the talent shows hosted in the auditorium. Magical instruments can be provided for those who need it or any other props. It seems like any sort of talent is encouraged - even the more lewd ones or more violent ones! Kuma Lisa will sit front and center, cheering you on. Even if you aren't normally one to perform for others, the glitter's effects seem to make you abandon all worries and will make you want to shine on stage.
Boy, do you shine! Those who perform on stage will enchant those who watch. This enchantment can be completely innocuous and sheer admiration, but the enchantment may also lead to feelings of fan-like obsession. Regardless, you'll get a roaring ovation...even if you're not actually all that good at whatever talent you're presenting. After the Talent Show is over, people are encouraged to head over to the gymnasium where an Art Show is taking place. If you are more of a visual talent with paintings or sculptures or similar pieces, this is where you can shine!
People can mill about the gymnasium to admire your work and you can explain your piece or brood mysteriously in the corner. Either way, all the work displayed is primarily from students of Kuma Lisa Academy, but Kuma Lisa will encourage anyone to display their artwork regardless of your enrollment. This is a good way to get to know your peers, in her opinion, and she believes everyone has something to show off. So come show off!

Content Warnings: Potential harm/death of cats but only if characters choose to. No explicit descriptors of said violence. Karma-style consequences from actions.
You may or may not be familiar with the concept of karma. It is considered the consequences of your actions in the future. Karma always pays out: if you were nice to a stranger, you might find a dollar on the street. If you slammed a door on someone intentionally, you might step in dog shit on the way to an interview. Karma always finds a way to keep the world balanced and in Folkmore, karma happens to take the form of a giant cat that fluctuates between having a black coat and a white coat.
This massive feline can be seen throughout November, docile and sweet to those who generally try to do good on a day-to-day basis. Being kind to the cat will result in an abundance of good karma funneled directly to you right away: you'll turn a corner and find a bag of gold! Or you'll somehow come by a free Nintendo Switch! But don't think this cat is easily fooled. If you're being sweet to it but have been especially naughty lately, the cat will rapidly darken in color and you'll regret trying to pull one over on the feline.
The cat may actively try to maim or kill those who have been nefarious and cruel - but only if they try to trick the cat. You may get away with your limbs intact, but it might be a good idea to avoid the feline...Although if you're really up to no good, this cat will be stalking you nonstop throughout the month. Sure you could kill it like you can any blood beast...But cats have nine lives and when it comes back, it will be bigger and far more violent toward you and infinitely harder to kill. You don't want to risk it, do you?
It isn't just Karma the Cat who will be stalking you this month. If you generally act selfishly, if you are cruel to others, if you have betrayed someone, or have been rude or nasty, you can expect to have a large variety of consequences for your actions. Nothing will ever seem to go your way: your hair won't sit right, you'll tear your clothes on accident, trip all over yourself, spill hot coffee in your lap...And of course, the worse you have been, the worse the consequences.
Don't worry though! If the opposite is true, or if you start to behave better to improve your overall karma, Karma the Cat will pay you out on your good deeds. You'll look stunning every day, you'll find your favorite foods in the best quality, you'll get lucky with the person you have a crush on or finally land a breakthrough on your studies...
Truly, it's up to the players what the consequences for their characters can be. Those who are genuinely good and spoil Karma the Cat with treats and snuggles will find they have a wonderful amount of karma.
Effects of karma can last for November or all the way until January. Karma is potent, after all. While you can technically "kill" the cat if it's attacking you...Karma is immortal and will simply come back again and again. The feline will be making appearances throughout Folkmore until January, although it will be increasingly rarer in sightings as the months go on.

Content Warnings: Forced soul removal. Themes of "exorcism" but not in a creepy way. Being disembodied / being a "ghost" type entity (though without the death - although this can lead to death).
With all of the stars falling throughout Folkmore, it should be no surprise that this may tamper with the Star Children. It's becoming a bit of a running theme in the realm - these ideas of duality and versions of characters, and it seems like this month is no different! Although this month is a bit more...Involved.
If you get hit by a falling star, the real you will get jolted rather rudely out of your own body! You'll hover like a ghost nearby as something else takes over your physical body...But it's not a monster. It's just...you...
In the worst possible way! Or the best possible way. It's your Worst You or Best You and either way, it seems like they're in charge now! For some people, this might result in a rather caricature-like version of themselves evilly laughing as they wreak havoc on Folkmore. For others, it may be far more subtle. This new you may or may not have memories of your life in Folkmore, and may or may not use those to their advantage.
If you're lucky and have the "better" version of yourself, they might realize what is happening and try to get someone's attention that the REAL you...is kind of just ghosting around desperately hoping to get back into your normal body. Thankfully, it isn't completely hopeless. People who can see/control spirits or have telepathic abilities will be able to sense/communicate with the disembodied characters. Extremely strong individuals may even be able to kick out the "spirit" currently residing in your real body and put you back inside! Don't feel too bad...Whatever took over your real body isn't actually you - or anyone! It seems to just be an "echo" of a version of you that never really existed...So you're not actually killing anything or causing yourself any harm by getting rid of it...
But the downside is trying to get the body to stay still long enough to get the process through. There will be some natural resistance, even from a good version of you, and it may cause whoever is helping you to get disembodied as well. Worst case scenario? You all die! Which...is pretty bad, we'll admit! In a less terrible situation, you may just experience some rough memory loss before getting yanked back in. Best case scenario, you get your body back with no problem and the only side effects from the even will be some new star-shaped freckles on your face. These may or may not fade away with time.
This is a flexible event! If your character has any powers that may align with these concepts, feel free to go for it! Alternatively, characters can perform "rituals" read about from the Kuma Lisa Academy library about "Star Reversal" techniques that involve trapping a snatched body in a room filled with stars made from shiny materials. This is said to disorient and trap a person's stolen body and allow the disembodied soul to re-enter! The last resort option that doesn't involve any sort of ritual is admitting to yourself that you can see why you might be the problem or why you could be a better person - that is a surefire way to bring you back into your own body!
Don't have a soul? Don't worry! This is more of a conceptual thing than a literal thing. You can supplement the concept of "soul" with consciousness.
You have until January to reclaim your body. If you fail to do so, you will eventually evaporate into stardust and your physical body will too. At least you will come back to life, but you'll be rather dazed and confused for quite some time upon your return.
