December 2022 Trial Event Plotting
Trial 8 Plotting Post
Welcome to our plotting post for this month's event! This plotting page doubles as our monthly CR meme. If you have questions about the trial, ask them below.
All the glitter from November has faded away, but the shinning stars remained, leaving the night sky bright all through the month. Kuma Lisa is still the current iteration of Thirteen, however characters will often see her in her Fox form that has now turned pure white to match the snow that covers most of the land (with the exception of Cruel Summer).
The nights are much longer than before and the cold outside makes Star Children want to cuddle up with someone to keep warm. Despite the cold, however, the night will feel always beautiful and peaceful, which the Star Children might find comforting. Every night paper lanterns will be released to light the streets and stores all around Folkmore; these will magically remain in place until the end of the night, rather than floating away. When the day comes, they will rise up and disappear.
The days, in contrast, will feel a bit more grey and listless. There won't be a lot of light and everything seems a lot slower than usual, lacking the spirit of the night. Star children may feel a bit more depressed than usual but if they reach out to others this feeling may be eased.
Feel free to use the following form for your plotting and CR needs.
Reminders:
🦊 As of this month, the CR Meme and Plotting Post are combined. The form above reflects that.
🦊 KARMA IS A CAT and ANTI-HERO prompts from last month's trial are still in effect. Read more here.
🦊 The game will alternate between high and low intensity events each month. December is a low intensity month.

MIDNIGHTS
★
The calm, cozy vibe that settles over Folkmore in December also encourages people to reach out to others. For some that might mean visiting a select few friends, for others it may mean throwing dinner parties or other get-togethers. Especially in the evenings, the urge to be with someone else is common.
And really, lounging around in a nice warm house with someone to talk to is such a lovely way to spend your time. Why, you might get to talking and the next thing you know the clock is chiming midnight.
What’s that? You don’t have a clock? Oh. Well. There’s a chiming noise anyway! Accompanying this is the sudden appearance of a full-length mirror. It may be suddenly hanging on the wall, or appear in the doorway when you get up to use the washroom. It’s somewhere, and when you find it you’ll see yourself smiling back at you. Even if you’re not a smiler.
Your reflection is obscured, however, by a powder blue post-it note stuck on the surface of the mirror. On the post-it, in your own handwriting, is a word, or a phrase, or maybe several thoughts quickly jotted down. It may even be a drawing. However it is articulated, the content of the note is very simply some personal issue of your own making, something that holds you back in life. It is, in words or pictures, one of your self-made cages.
If you cannot see any of this, that’s alright - your companion probably can, and will no doubt relay all of this information to you.
This could be awkward for you, seeing something so personal laid out so simply in front of someone else. Or maybe you’re at the point where you just don’t care anymore. Talking about it can be very beneficial - you will feel lighter, more free, and more emotionally stable.
When you pull the post-it off of the mirror you will feel an intense relief as some part of you accepts that it’s time to let go of certain behaviours or thoughts. This isn’t necessarily an instant cure, but it can be a very important first step.
And if you are lucky, your mirror self moves, holding out something from your homeworld to you. You may see as many reflections of yourself as you wish this month, but this gift from you to yourself happens only once. After you have removed the post-it and possibly received your present, your mirror self fades away and the mirror goes dark.

I NEED TO FEEL SOMETHIN' ★
Content Warnings: Sensory deprivation/loss.
The calming atmosphere of Folkmore this month may encourage people to reach out to one another, but some people are just naturally more shy and prone to introspection. For some, the temptation to stay inside and just watch the snow fall down from the sky in silence might be too enticing to resist.
The more you go into hermit mode, however, the more you will notice the world changing.
It’s very subtle at first: smells seem a little less intense, colours more washed out, music quieter. It becomes harder to physically feel things and you will become prone to dropping objects. It’s almost as if your perception is being blanketed by snow, numbing your senses. Your body will grow gradually colder as you catch the slowest chill in history.
It is possible to get frostbite from this, and to lose all of your senses, but it takes a long time - you would have to ignore it for literal weeks.
So what’s the cure? Come on. You know by now: you need to be around people. It doesn’t matter if it is people you like - you can be around your sworn enemy and it will immediately and quickly begin to reverse the effects. By the time you’ve spent an evening with someone you will be back to your old self! Whether that evening is spent hanging out and having a good time or screaming at each other is irrelevant.

QUESTION...?★
Content Warnings: Mild stalking by cute monsters.
While the days are not particularly exciting, December evenings do hold more than just hot cocoa and conversation. Both Willow and Epiphany have public ice rinks open, and there are concession stands at both selling hot drinks. Wintermute has its hot springs, and at night they are lit up with hundreds of small twinkling lights. Cruel Summer, the least affected by the cold, has dance parties thrown around bonfires that last from sundown to sunrise. You won’t be able to wear your skimpiest outfits in the cold desert air, but you should be able to stay warm enough if you stay near the fires.
Whether you choose to attend a winter event or just stay in your home, you may find yourself haunted by a rattling noise. It sounds like someone shaking seed pods, or perhaps small stones. It starts soft. Solitary. Take a look around and you’ll find the source soon enough: a small white humanoid figure with an oversized head. It doesn’t have a proper face, just large black holes to vaguely suggest eyes and a mouth. As you watch, the creature’s head tits unnaturally far to one side and then snaps back into place, making the rattling sound.
You will find that more and more of these little guys start popping up, following you wherever you go. They don’t try to hurt you or get in your way, but they still seem to be herding you somewhere… or rather, towards someone.
Yes, once you find yourself around someone else (whether you know them or not) the creatures will more or less surround you both, their heads rattling and rattling. The only thing that makes them settle down is when you and this other person get closer, physically or emotionally. And the only way to make them go away for good? You need to share something. Whether a dance, a kiss, or a secret - there must be a personal exchange of some kind. Only then will the creatures wander off, seemingly satisfied with a job well done.

Meghann (Fran, Lorna, Thena)
Player Name: Meghann
Player Pronouns: She/Her
Player Contact: PM is usually best, though I can give out discord.
Preferred Tag Style: Either or! I'll match whatever!
Monthly Pacing: I usually try to get at least one tag a day, but sometimes get a day or two where I can't get to things.
OOC Limitations/Disinterests: None that I can think of at the moment! Side note: the new form looks amazing and is insanely cute!!
Fran | FF12 | Familiar
Character Name: Fran
Permissions: 🦊 Permissions
Character Role: Familiar,
🦊 Exploring ➟ I'd love to have her transform in front of more people and have been enjoying discussions with people who assume her ears and rabbit features are due to her role as a Familiar. So, I'm down for more of that!
Public Knowledge: People are free to know she spends a considerable amount of time with Balthier and obviously that she has very distinctive features that resemble a rabbit. My permission posts gives a bit of information to her demeanor and appearance and anything there is free game.
General CR information
Wanted CR: Friends for the most part! Potentially people she can eventually speak to about the regrets and sadness she does have for the life she chose. She's got a lot of deep rooted loneliness, particularly tied to the loss of her family and the life she had before she went out into the world for Freedom.
-So maybe people who also gave up a lot in pursuit of their own passions. Or other lonely people!
-Other non humans that have visible signs of not being human! Particularly ones that have experienced the difference between their culture and human culture. She knows she'll vastly outlive all of the humans she's grown to care for but she also never talks about that.
-Also she's super used to humans flirting with her so anyone that may want to flirt with her just because it's hilarious.
Unwanted CR: Nothing at all!
Trial information
Trial Accomplishments:
🦊 Trial Accomplishment ➟ For Midnights I'd love to use that for some introspection on her loneliness. Perhaps with a note that has her handwriting with the names Jote and Mjrn on it. So, if anyone would like to find themselves visited by her or running into her somewhere and then going off to talk, I'd love to!
Timeline of Trials: Freegaming completely, so no particular timeline. I'm terrible at planning in general.

Welp. Kind of in the transition stage between human and other, but these both suit Viktor to a T :3

Lorna | The Gifted | Myth
Character Name: Lorna Dane
Permissions: 🦊 Permissions
Character Role: Myth
🦊 Exploring ➟ I'd love to actually have her develop her tail and then react to that. It's going to be something she'll be a bit bothered by.
Public Knowledge:Anything in my permission post about her appearance is free game for anyone to know about her. She's also not shy at all about using her powers, so anyone is free to know she has a green mist that surrounds her when she makes things move/float. Lorna's also been pretty vocal about her not being certain about whether or not Thirteen should be trusted, so I'm fine with character's knowing that.
General CR information
Wanted CR: All of the above!
-Friends to talk to, open up to, drink with, hang out with!
-People to teach! Lorna's the kind of teacher to just kind of throw things at people and throw them into a situation and teach them to react quickly to it. In her world it was react or die and that's carried over here. If you'd like a mentor that will help your character learn quick reflexes and to make snap decisions to protect themselves and the people they love that's her.
-Want to flirt with an absolute disaster? Come flirt with Lorna. She's an emotional disaster.
-Potentially people that might notice that she has temper issues and issues with nightmares. She doesn't talk about it but I'm also fine with people who live in Gram attributing occasional problems with lights/metal bending weirdly around house #26 to her.
-Lorna likes to listen and help people, so if you have characters that need to trauma dump or have someone that will support them in being different and embracing their powers/differences then please lets do that! Let her adopt you and teach you that powers are a gift not a bad thing.
Unwanted CR: Nothing, I'm always up for anything even enemies.
Specific CR for the trials: Nothing too specific that I can think of at the moment.
Trial information
Trial Accomplishments:
🦊 Trial Accomplishment ➟ Or possibly combine that with Midnights. Perhaps someone that's got the desire to go see someone can come over and have her see their post-it note?
🦊 Trial Accomplishment ➟ Eventually, she'll come out due to the creatures from Question and try to find someone to help her get rid of them. Sharing is caring! I'd be down for a her sharing a dance, kiss, secret, or gift with someone.
Timeline of Trials: No timeline really.

Thena | Eternals | Legend
Character Name: Thena
Permissions: 🦊 Permissions
Character Role: Legend
Public Knowledge: Anything in her permissions post about her appearance is public knowledge. She also has a rather large Pokemon, a Milotic that goes with her almost everywhere.
General CR information
Wanted CR:
-Friends, people to teach her about modern things and show her how to be 'normal'. Teach Thena how to just go shopping and relax and have fun. Someone please. Maybe introduce her to relaxing hobbies, she likes art and has been shown to draw in canon so maybe expound upon that some.
-People to teach combat skills to. She has 7000+ years of fighting experience and it would be a nice confidence boost to use that knowledge to help others become warriors.
-People she can open up to about the Mahd W'yry, what happened with her partner, and that she can eventually trust to stop her if she needs it.
-Other people who are lost on what to do with their life without a purpose that was created for them. She's lived a VERY long time with one goal around one group of people. Not having that anymore is causing her a lot of confusion. People who she can talk to about having had most of their life planned for them or dictated for them.
-People that can help her open up and find out who she is beyond being the Warrior Eternal.
-People that can relate to her fear of hurting people if she gets to close to them. I'd love for her to find others that feel that way and have them open up to each other!
Unwanted CR: Nothing at all.
Trial information
Trial Accomplishments:
🦊 Trial Accomplishment ➟ Also would enjoy seeing her at an ice rink with someone. Maybe even someone to invite her to a dance party. She'd probably just...watch one if she goes herself, so maybe someone to drag her to actually dance?
Timeline of Trials: No particular timeline!

I have a log here if either of those options work or I can hit you up if you're doing one
