Hello Folkies! This is our monthly Story of Us post where we get together to make game announcements, ask for any feedback or suggestions, partake in character relationship memes and open up our invites for the upcoming application cycle!

Announcements / Reminders
As a reminder, Milk has stepped down as the headmod and our mod team has been re-structured. If there are any issues, feel free to contact us at any time through the mod contact page.
One of the changes we are implementing today is the brand new Event suggestion and Player Plot page, which can be found in the Game Navigation from now on. If you have any events you'd like to suggest, or perhaps run a plot on your own, use that post. We would be happy to hear your ideas!
Finally, we are happy to announce the Game Feedback post! We would like to hear what you think of the game so far, possible changes you'd like to see, or perhaps any issues you would want to see addressed. This post is open to our playerbase, and with it we hope to make Folkmore a game everyone can enjoy.

Upcoming Weather for December
As we enter December, all the glitter from November starts to fade away, but the shinning stars remain, leaving the night sky bright all through the month. Kuma Lisa is still the current iteration of Thirteen, however characters will often see her in her Fox form that has now turned pure white to match the snow that covers most of the land (with the exception of Cruel Summer).
The giddy effects of Kuma Lisa are replaced with a calm and peace that Star Children might find comforting. It's more clear now that the nights are much longer than before, and the cold outside makes Star Children want to cuddle up with someone to keep warm. Despite the cold, however, the night will feel always beautiful and peaceful. Every night paper lanterns will be released to light the streets and stores all around Folkmore; these will magically remain in place until the end of the night, rather than floating away. When the day comes, they will rise up and disappear.
The days, in contrast, will feel a bit more grey and listless. There won't be a lot of light and everything seems a lot slower than usual, lacking the spirit of the night. Star children may feel a bit more depressed than usual but if they reach out to others this feeling may be eased.
As a reminder: the Anti-Hero trial is still on going until January 1st.

Our game is invite-only which means in order to make a reserve or apply, you must have an invite from a current player in-game! Players are not required to give invites. Invites are open between the 22nd of every month and close on the 5th of the following month when applications open. All invites expire after that application cycle ends.
Players are limited to one invite per round unless they have purchased an additional invite slot through Spoons. If using an additional invite slot, please make sure to link to your purchase in your invite form.

Monthly Pacing: Normal speed as always. I try to do tags daily if possible and I like boomeranging but sometimes work/rl gets in the way. I also live in Europe so time-zone are the doom of my existence.
OOC Limitations/Disinterests: Graphic descriptions of gore or extreme violence are not my thing but I can deal with anything as long as it comes with the appropriate CW.

Character Name: Jayce Talis.
Character Age: 30-ish.
Characer Species: Human.
Character Details: He has natural golden eyes. Also a scar over his right eyebrow and a small tooth gap.
And wonderful tits.Character Summary: Started to do illegal science magic in college, it blew up in his face (literally), got to meet his future bestest friend
they are married and divorced all at once, your honorwho happens to have the health of a sickly victorian child. Viktor convinced Jayce to do even more science magic crimes, but like, together.Oh and they also invented a magic-technology fusion that revolutionized the world as they knew it. There were more explosions.

Character Role: Legend.
Character Role Deets: He's got pretty butterfly wings wings and color-changing eyes, like a mood ring from the 90s. (I used to have one of those, what of it?). Jayce still needs to learn how to fly properly. He has yet to realize he's more durable and strong than usual, so maybe someone could spar with him? He needs to get better at combat. He also doesn't know that his eyes change colors when he is experiencing a strong emotion, although it has already happened a couple of times in threads.
Character Living Quarters: In an apartment in Epiphany. I'll eventually request a building/forge-lab for him, I'm saving up spoons.
Character Schools: N/A
Day to Day Life:Reading all the magic books and info he can gets his hands on. Designing new machines and artifacts, and walking around Folkmore to map is so he doesn't get lost so often.
Current Mindset/Health: Physical health, good. Mental health...anxious. He's still getting used to Folkmore, and was kicked out of his body for a short while and turned into a ghost, only for whatever-that-was possessing his body to be an asshole to others. The experience has left Jayce a little distressed about who he might become if he doesn't watch himself, and since he lives in Epiphany, he also gets nostalgic often. Jayce could use help to stabilize his emotions, either from a willing familiar character or from anybody who would just be nice enough to talk to him.
Recent Developments: The aforementioned Anti-hero plot. Him twitchy.
Goals For Your Character: The long-term goal is about Jayce getting a forge and going back to focusing on creating things that can actually help others, whether using Hextech or not. The short-time goal is basically to keep building his CR.
Problems With Your Character: He's very much still worried about the mess left in his world, especially: (highlight to read, because huge Season 1 spoilers)
Wanted CR: He is too old for a mentor but he could do the mentoring happily, or be a big brother, uncle, etc...or simply a good friend. He needs more of those.
Unwanted CR: Negative CR for the sake of negative Cr that goes nowhere or has little reason to exist.

Without his handler around to give him orders, K's been free to explore various hobbies and has gravitated toward creative outlets — like how he's been learning to play the piano for several months. So I think helping Jayce to create things in whatever capacity might be interesting too. Considering what K is, mathematics and science are well within his wheelhouse, so he probably wouldn't have trouble keeping up. Plus he loves learning.

Good for K, good for K. He should be free to discover all the joys of life. Jayce likes music - in the show, he attends a concert, and a guitar/mandolin can be seen in his apartment in his introductory episode-, so he would love to hear K play. They could work together in different arts, that would be fun and Jayce is at his best when he can bounce ideas off someone.
He could also teach K to draw or build things if he wanted. There's a lot of math involved in schematics and blueprints. Oh, and if K ever mentions his combat training, that is something Jayce needs to learn, so he could use his help for sparring. If....he can convince K to actually attack a human. That could be interesting.

Ooh yes sparring! I spaced on that so I'm glad you brought it up. When we had a Dr. Strange in game here, he and K had an arrangement: K physically sparred with him to help keep him sharp, and in exchange he taught K about the mystic arts and such. So he could help out Jayce there. I've been playing it as, he can play/spar/wrestle with humans, he just won't be able to intentionally injure them in his humanoid form (yet — once he's developed genuine free will, all bets are off).

Dang, this man is so talented. Is there anything Ryan Gosling doesn't know how to do? He does have a lovely voice, hearing K sing would be amazing. Also one day we need to get him to dance 8D
Cat serenades, pff. As long as they don't happen at 3 am because K's got the zoomies. Jayce wouldn't even be mad, only tired, and all 'well...at least he's expressing himself' . And yup, he is here to support K's growth and help if he can, so they can hang out together. Out of curiosity, where does K live? Jayce moved to Epiphany, where they met.
No problem! Glad that you like the idea. And that was a good arrangement. While Jayce could teach him about the runes and magic in Runeterra that he is familiar with, he lacks Dr. Strange's magical abilities. Jayce is really just some dude.
Oh rolfmao. One day K is going to manage to punch a human, and then he will bluescreen all 'Oops'.

That's a good question... I guess I forgot to choose where exactly K lives but I gave him a fancy multi-storey apartment, so that probably has to be the Satori Hills Apartments in Epiphany. So they'll be neighbours. And there'll absolutely be middle of the night zoomies too, you know, expressive cat-parkour. Oh yeah, he received his spinner via event regain, so flying shenanigans of a different sort could also happen.
Lol that's exactly what will happen if K accidentally hurts a human. Just totally bluescreens and probably has migraine symptoms for a while, bad enough to discourage repeats. Big oops.

Is what K deserves. I think that all the dancing Jayce can do is mostly formal dances/slow ones, he has then memorized to a T, and could teach K the basics. I'm so excited about he prospect of the forge so he can go back to do what he wanted to do when he first created Hextech, to make inventions that help people in one way or another. It's a long-term goal, but it's fun. As for his hands...yeahhh he's got some skilled fingers :3
Explaining magic and runes like is some sort of science is absolutely doable! There are still unpredictable effects, but Jayce knows that to create certain spells you need to use specific rune combos (plus an energy source like the hexgems) , so it's not so different from applying equations to solve a problem.
Yay for being neighbors. Ohhhh that apartment looks very elegant and pretty, especially with all those plants. I should make something like this for Jayce too, since I already have some references about how his flat was back when he was 24 years old and I don't think his habits had changed much. Rolfmao, he's nowhere near as organized as K. There are papers, trinkets, and books everywhere, as well as an orrery ( which is why I had Jayce trying to design an astrolabe in his log). He had a plant but it was mostly dead....teach him how to take care of those, K. Jayce also has like, 3 different heaters in his apartment, this man hates the cold.
'Expressive cat-parkour.' that is a nice way to put it, haha. The spinner! Jayce has designed whole flying ships but nothing like K's cool flying car, he will aks him all the questions about it.
Oh shit, the migraines, that is awful. They will have to look into it to make sure it doesn't hurt him too much.
