Hello Folkies! This is our monthly Story of Us post where we get together to make game announcements, ask for any feedback or suggestions, partake in character relationship memes and open up our invites for the upcoming application cycle!

Check out the bottom of this post for important dates to keep an eye on!

Mod Help Needed

We are in desperate need of some mod helpers! We need someone to help take over Activity Check and the Spoons page. Both of these are relatively straightforward tasks!

Activity Check requires you to respond accordingly to all players and make an updated post about who needs to respond still/who has been swept through AC or drops.

Spoons merely require you to make sure counts generally look right and that any purchases are approved.

We would also appreciate any help on App Reading anyone would be willing to give. Thank you!

Announcements

All prompts and events from July and August will end September 1st. Camp Camelot will vanish into thin air. If you happen to be at the camp or in the cabins at this time, they will merely vanish into golden dust around you. Any items won/gained during Camp Camelot will be on your character's person or at their home.

The floods from August will have mostly dried up within the first week of September although it will still be a bit muddy!

UPDATE AS OF 08/26/2022

Hello! Please refer to our Mod Announcement for new information regarding the upcoming Application/Reserves section!

All players are permitted two invites that will expire November 11th. This means all invites on this page are good for October and November cycles.

Applications/Reserves will be suspended until October 1st. Check-In will be optional for August.

Additionally, we are thrilled at the response for mod help and hope to get back to applicants ASAP! Thank you all for your understanding!

Invitations

Our game is invite-only which means in order to make a reserve or apply, you must have an invite from a current player in-game! Players are not required to give invites. Invites are open between the 22nd of every month and close on the 5th of the following month when applications open. All invites expire after that application cycle ends.

Players are limited to one invite per round unless they have purchased an additional invite slot through Spoons. If using an additional invite slot, please make sure to link to your purchase in your invite form.

Invites allow new players to reserve/apply to the game. Invites do not guarantee that new players will get in. Some invites may not be accepted and we will message players on a case-by-case basis if necessary.

Players only require an invite for their first application. Once they are a player in the game, they can apply as more characters at a later date. If a player drops completely from the game, they will require a new invite to get back in.

Mai | ATLA | Familiar

Character Name: Mai
Character Age: 19 (aged up from 17 at the end of Smoke and Shadow)
Character Species: Knife Human
Character Details: Mai stands 5'6" with golden eyes, waistlength black hair she usually keeps up in buns + pigtails. She's kind of surprisingly muscular? Not ripped but if someone can jump like she can she's got to have some killer thighs, I'm just saying.

Character Summary: Info. Mai is known for being the apathetic goth girl of the series but she's grown up a good bit since then. She still has her blank faced expression as her resting bitch face but she has an easier time of showing emotions too -- subtly, of course. She has a sharp wit, a dry delivery and wears a quirked smirk of a grin more often than a genuinely big smile. If you manage to dig through those layers you'll find a person who is very dedicated to those she believes in and one who craves love and intimacy after having a taste of it with her ex.

Character Role: Familiar.
Character Role Deets: Mai has fairly sharp black claws she can retract at will. Now and then she'll also have a pair of black horns and a slim black-scaled tail with a fluffy tip like this that she's actually sort of embarrassed about when it does crop up, haha. She keeps it hidden under her bija (the long overcoat vest thing) when she can.

Character Living Quarters: A treehouse in Leshy.
Character Schools: None at the moment but I'm down for the fighting school.
Day to Day Life: So Mai got here, had a night or three in her treehouse drinking wine and just decompressing from the boredom of helping run a flower shop, then ended up at camp. Eventually she'll probably go to school though.

Current Mindset/Health: Mai is in good health and with two years of helping at her aunt's flowershop she is bored. Let's go on some adventures! Let's drink wine and gossip! You wanna make out? We can do that too!

Recent Developments: So Mai and Yor have become bros and Mai is pretty sure she looks up to Yor as a motherly figure after the woman pretty much beat a monster into a pulp with the power of yoga training and then acted all concerned about her. The latter part really hit her because she still very much remembers the "doesn't need any protection" line and her own mother's not very good attempts at protecting.
Also she did body painting with Eren and realized that maybe she's ready for intimacy with someone else again. With the body painting it was non-sexual intimacy and she definitely does want that but ... maybe the sexual wouldn't hurt either? She's never been romantically involved with anyone besides Zuko and Kei Lo and Kei Lo was ... a difficult point in her life.

Goals For Your Character: Letting others into her life, her circle of caring and all that. Maybe romance eventually? I've never really had a ship with Mai in a game because her attachment to Zuko has been that strong but aged up some maybe it could work.

Problems With Your Character: Now that Flynn can no longer torment her with morning hikes she's ... actually kind of lonely up in that house of hers.

Wanted CR: Anything and everything.
Unwanted CR: I have no limits. I am a free spirit.
Open/Closed to New CR: Will make stupid jokes for CR.

So goth girls are the most normal thing to Gideon. I would love for them to get to know each other since they're about the same age, goth, and been through different kinds of stuff. Gideon isn't available romantically/sexually but is a very tactile person.

She's also great at puns, has a pangolin tail, and is easy to befriend. Even on accident.

Girl, just come like hold her hand or give her a hug now and then. Ty Lee isn't around to literally crush her so she needs someone obviously.

Yes Gideon will give Mai a lot of casual friendly intimacy. It's what they all deserve.

Oh my God, I love Mai! I'm canon-familiar including the comics and you play her so well. I want to be greedy and say pounce all the girls, but sticking with Bella and curious in regards to Mariane?

I really did love her and Bella's thread. I'll welcome Mariane too, though I confess I know diddly squat about Dragon Age. I'll actually play them all one day... I hope.

I'm glad to hear it! And as far as Dragon Age goes, Not Exactly Orc Zombies spread disease and take over a dragon, Grey Wardens kill it. Mariane and her future husband are both Grey Wardens. And Mariane hates it. She just wants to become a queen with her honey and live in peace. Like that's going to happen!
