I guess you could call me a mage? Or witch, or sorceress, whatever term you want to use. Though these days, I'm mostly just a vessel for a magical spirit... Pretty much all of my magical efforts are spent keeping her contained.

Magic in my world isn't something you are born with. We have books and stories like that, but in reality it's just a skill you can learn like anything else. We use crystals too, as well as certain types of wood or herbs.

How did that happen? It sounds like a very stressful and difficult task. Is there no one who could help you to perhaps seal the spirit somewhere else out of your body?

That's interesting. It works different in my world, you need to be magicborn to use elemental magic, or have some level of affinity to it. Do you have school, then?

it's kind of a long story. the spirit-- Natura is her name-- was trying to possess a friend of mine, by force. the only way I could think of to save my friend was to take her in myself instead. and yeah, I'm working on a plan to seal her somewhere else, where she can't hurt anyone, but it's hard because I'm only in control of my body one night a month. or at least, that's how it was back home. something about this place makes it so I can take control a little more often, but it's still 60/40 her versus me.

I was in school, before Natura, but not for magic. studying magic was more of a hobby.

That's terrible. I can't even begin to imagine how upsetting it must be not being in charge of your own body. I'm sorry. What you did was really brave.

Is there a way to tell you two apart when she is in control? Does anything physically change?

Ah, I see. Magic has been a hobby of mine since I was young too but I had to be more discreet about it.
