TEXTS FROM LAST NIGHT

Welcome to Folkmore's monthly Texts From Last Night meme! This meme can be used as a branch off from our Test Drive Memes and be used as game canon or just for casual fun in the setting! You do not need to be in our game or be invited to play on our TFLN. This can be a great way to meet current players for future invites, get a feel for the setting, or just have some fun.
This can be used for samples on our applications and used as spoons for players accepted into the game!

if you wanna action it--
he glances up at the other man, smile a little crooked and almost fragile for a moment. it still doesn't quite feel real that he's able to see steve like this again. he'd almost, not quite, gotten used to the idea that he was gone.
he clears his throat, straightening. ] Uh, hey.
no subject
He hasn't seen a picture or video of Bucky yet and, uh. What? ]
Nice haircut, pal.
[ He deposits the stuff on a table and then goes to give Bucky a little one-armed hug. ]
It's... really good to see you.
no subject
Yeah, [ he agrees a little shakily, and pulls back with an unsteady breath, reaching up to squeeze steve's arm. ] Guess I was still looking pretty rough the last time you saw me, huh?
[ he glances away so steve doesn't see how emotional he's feeling about all of this, shifting to unstack the boxes and open them up. it gives him something to do with his hands and a reason not to look into steve's face. ]
It's, uh, been a couple of years since then. The U.S. even made me go to therapy. [ a beat. ] It sucked.
no subject
Hey, don't knock the therapy. It looks like it worked pretty well.
[ Steve starts by grabbing a slice and taking his tea glass. ]
Bet we must do this all the time now, back home. Glad you made up with Sam. He's great, isn't he?
no subject
he has his freedom now, and he has a purpose, and sam and his family and delacroix, but nothing is ever going to replace steve rogers. having him back here like this is both the best thing bucky could have imagined and the worst.
he fiddles with his glass as he settles, mouth crooking up at the corner. ] Yeah, Sam's great. Still has a way of pissing me off, but not-- He's usually just trying to help. Or get me out of my head. [ he's done bucky more good than any federally-assigned therapist was ever going to. bucky can only hope he's returning the favor. ] It's, uh-- It's been a while since I've seen you, though, actually.
no subject
Oh. Did I... die?
[ He asks that last part softly, but then quickly follows up with -- ]
Wait, don't answer that. I don't think I want to know what happens.
Which, by the way, neither does Tony. He said he wasn't ready to hear about what happened with the Accords.
[ So, he is definitely not ready to hear about how his parents didn't actually die in a car crash. And since Steve's already made the mistake of telling him that Bucky's a formerly brainwashed HYDRA agent under the influence of inhibition-lowering body paint, he might hound Bucky for questions he doesn't want answered. ]
I know we have to figure it out sometime, but Buck, we can't have a repeat of Siberia.
[ It's complicated, this is always going to be complicated. He takes a long breather, and then puts down his pizza to get a garlic knot. ]
I do wanna know what you've been up to, since I saw you last. Or, since you saw me last.
[ Which, how is Bucky going to explain that Sam is Captain America without explaining to Steve that he is or isn't dead? This is going to go really well, Bucky. ]
no subject
[ he lifts his good hand, rubbing it over his face wearily. ]
Honestly, I-- Maybe it's best if we just.. [ he trails off uncertainly, then tries again. ] You already know I live in Delacroix now, and I work with Sam. Maybe it's best to just leave the catching up there.
[ it's probably for the best that bucky keeps everything else to himself. he could change the timeline, right? and while, arguably, there are a lot of things he'd like to change, he could make it worse. what if steve didn't get his happy ending? what if stark didn't snap thanos out of existence? ]
no subject
Also, that reaction? Yeah, well, he definitely thinks he's dead, now. He puts a hand on Bucky's shoulder, but thinks the better of it, and leans over him into a hug at a slightly awkward angle. He's trying. ]
Whatever happened, Buck, you gotta know I didn't want to leave you. I didn't want us not to talk.
[ He backs up again. ]
You know, this place isn't so bad, except that the fox is really vague letting us know what our potential is. And there's another Steve here. In his world, Peggy took the serum. And he pilots a suit called the HYDRA Stomper.
