She is, though many gods that are less worthy have religions and cults back home, too.

Why do you worship royalty?

it's the same in my world.

for the seelie, royalty are the most beautiful. for the unseelie, royalty are the most ruthless and violent. i have the blood of both in me, but i'm neither beautiful nor ruthless. so i too wonder what there is to worship.

I suppose that the gods lead extraplanar beings in a similar fashion, though they are also the most powerful. Does your mixed blood cause problems, too?

mm. it was decided that i would be better raised by the forest than the court.

I was also abandoned by my birth parents. They left me to my adoptive parents, who did all right, but... I only hope the forest did all right by you.

the courts of the seelie and unseelie, where the royalty presides over great feasts or fights or orgies. they gather together in their finery, served and entertained by those they consider beneath them. humans, mostly. ones that they've tricked or stolen away. all fae are supposed to long to be there.

the ruinwood doesn't care about any of these things. the others can say what they want about me, but i wouldn't trade my life for theirs.

why did your birth parents abandon you?

I see. Fae are.... frustrating.

I was abandoned because I was proof that they had messed around with devils. I am a tiefling, one whose very blood is tainted by the hell planes. I was born with red skin, hooves, and a tail.

these are traits that humans

they do not have them. do they fear them? do you they fear you?

[Do they fear them... such an odd question.]

They do, but I try to teach them not to. They think I cannot live up to my principles, that the taint of the hells is strong in me and I am weaker than it. I am not.

are tiefling like fae?

what i mean is, are some more troublesome than others?

You could say that about any group. Yes, some tieflings cause trouble. Perhaps more than other groups, but I suspect that has more to do with distrust from others than an inherent evil bent.

i have heard of devils and demons in my world. i've wondered if they are kin to fae, if not one and the same. old blood. frightening some humans and enticing others.

i think we have things in common.
