Updates
Canon & AU Updates
Updating your character to new memories, new abilities, or switching over to CRAU? Let us know here!
If you are updating your canon point, please be considerate with spoilers. We ask that your update point fit the parameters of being at least 30 days old.
Characters who are undergoing an update will turn temporarily into a ball of starlight, rearranging, completely unaware. When their update has been processed, they will realign into their (possibly new) regular bodies. This can adjust bodies to different ages, new scars/injuries, etc to accommodate possible physical updates.
An update can be instantaneous or take the course of several days. You are welcome to update while your character is on a technical hiatus.
Role Change
If you are choosing to switch your character's role, this is where you can do it, as well!
Role changes occur naturally without turning Star Children to stardust. Their old qualities and attributes fade away, replaced by their new ones. This change may break Familiar/Unfamiliar bonds. In that case, both Star Children involved will feel the bond dissipate. (Soulmate bonds, adoptions, etc are not affected).
You may also have your role change during a technical hiatus.

Canon Update
KD6-3.7 | December 2022
Character Name: KD6-3.7
Update Timeframe? Duration of time in Deerington/Deer Country
Update Details: I would like to update K with some of his memories from Deerington and Deer Country.
I'd like for K to be able to remember his friendship with Manabu Yuuki, who is currently in Folkmore as a Deer Country CRAU, and enough of his memories of Deerington/Deer Country to be able to put it in context and know the memories are real. He canonically has false implanted memories of a life he's never lived, so the distinction will be super important and meaningful to him. This might also help provide a much needed nudge toward achieving personhood here in Folkmore, but I don't intend for it to be a shortcut; I still want to fully play out his personhood arc in Folkmore. As for any other characters K might recognise from Deerington/Deer Country, I'll handle them on a case by case basis according to their players' preferences. Having him manifest his Coldblood abilities from Deer Country (basic fire, ice, lightning elemental abilities) would be fun to play with too, and since Manabu is also a Coldblood they could commiserate. Basically, all of this is meant to supplement K's development in Folkmore in interesting ways without overwriting any of it.
Mental or Physical Changes: Mentally, he'll be happy to remember Manabu and fascinated by the life he had in an alternate universe.
Power Changes: Physically, gaining his Coldblood abilities.
Mayerling | June 2023
Character Name: Mayerling
Update Timeframe? The last ~7 months
Update Details: Mayerling is gaining his memories/experiences at Deer Country. That includes meeting D from an alternate universe and (months later) learning what happened to him and Charlotte in that universe, briefly being a human version of himself, being an arcane scholar, and exploring the world within Trench and beyond. He even got to meet his parents again long after they've been dead. Overall it's a very eventful less than a year's worth of memories.
Mental or Physical Changes: Mentally, Mayerling has gained new memories.
Power Changes: Physically, his warmblood has the ability to help halt people turning into beasts and his soul can manifest an omen (in the shape of a bat). He can also turn into a squid...
Toge Inumaki | September 2023
Character Name: Toge Inumaki
Update Timeframe? Until Halloween.
Update Details: It's Toge's birthday and for a change of scenery he's off to check out Shibuya. Wonderful place, lots of sights and hey it's Halloween.
This takes him to chapter 119.
Since Toge's arrival in this world he's been up to the same old thing. Missions, classes, training. That's about it. When it comes to Halloween he is one of the last to arrive in Shibuya, assigned the solo mission of crowd control. He spends his time manipulating the crowd with his voice to keep them calm, but when Sukuna comes out to play, it's all for naught.
Mental or Physical Changes: Trapped within Sukuna's attack, Toge is cleaved relentlessly until his domain is withdrawn. He'll be leaving a good portion of his blood in Shibuya, and his left arm. Mentally...he's rattled. And coming back - he's gonna need a healer, he's coming in straight from the fight.
Power Changes: N/A
Zanth Breaker | April 2024
Character Name: Zanth Breaker
Update Timeframe? It's been about a week in universe in her campaign.
Update Details: In that time the party has taken down two major villains. First they faced off with the woman who was blackmailing them into doing crime, Ruth Valdani. She was killed by Swan.
Next, tech guru (and Zanth’s least favourite man) Moltsis Szazti attempted to blackmail Swan with footage of their changeling form, followed by kidnapping Zanth’s robot friend, K41N.
The party rescued K41N, whose mind had to be moved to a new body in the process. Moltsis was captured alive and put in high security underwater jail, where the party was able to interrogate him and learn slightly more about the overarching villain, Elvina. It would appear the whole party has been playing into her hands, but not much is known yet.
Zanth learned another party member, Dirk, has a deal with Swan’s evil night hag mother, Haigha, and that said hag is planning to come and collect him in person. She also learned that Dirk’s life-long druid powers are in some way related to Haigha and Elvina.
Zanth is making hag-fighting contingency plans, and trying not to panic.
The party briefly got to catch a break. Zanth and Swan went on a cute date and made pottery together. Zanth made a robot cat familiar for K41N, and a robot moth shield for the party.
Zanth learned that Moltsis faked the invention of AI, instead powering his robots with pieces of a crystal which both powers K41N and is the soul of the nature goddess Zanth was raised to worship.
She and K41N figured out how to give one of the other robots free will. It's having an existential crisis. Zanth is in turn having an existential crisis about whether that was the right thing to do.
At her new canon-point, the party is planning to kidnap a political figure who may have information we need on the various conspiracies. Also she's getting ready to run tech for a drag show.
Mental or Physical Changes: No physical changes, unless that can include outfits from home. If it can, she has a spikey leather jacket now. Mentally, she's just stressed about a slightly different set of things than before.
Power Changes: N/A
Peter Parker | May 2024
Character Name: Peter Parker
Update Timeframe? About six months. Far From Home > No Way Home
Update Details: Currently, Peter was pulled mid Far From Home after he was hit by a train. Now, Peter gets a whole ass canon update!!
Peter will be experiencing the rest of Far From Home. Including the fact he is 1. alive & beat Mysterio's ass with the power of spider, 2. he and MJ are dating??? Wow! 3. his identity was revealed to the general public during that end moving stinger!
Followed shortly by the fact he'll be experiencing the entirety of No Way Home. He will be trying to fix his mistake of invoking Dr. Strange's magic to put his secret identity back under wraps. The magic goes haywire, summons several other characters to his universe (Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Sandman, Electro, and TWO other spider of mans!), and nearly destroys his own universe in the process. Also, y'know his aunt dies a horrible death, oh no!!! There is a confrontation at the statue of liberty against the classic spidey villains with assistance from MJ, Ned, the other spidey's and eventually Dr. Strange's lazy ass. He'll be pulled mid-beating Green Goblin at the final confrontation before the other spider of mans interfere.
Mental or Physical Changes: Per the pull point of NWH, Peter is physically exhausted, beaten, bloody and healing over some injuries gained from fighting. He's emotionally wrung the Fuck out as is my devilish preference.
Power Changes: At most he has a better idea of how his spider sense works. No power upgrades.
ICly, I'll have these plans kick off mid-May (May 10th-12th maybe?). So no rush to reply. I am just getting this in early.
Steve Rogers MCU | June 2024
Character Name: Steve Rogers
Update Timeframe? About 5 years.
Update Details: Updating to beginning of Endgame - he fought Thanos and lost, bunch of people got dusted. Spent five years trying to pick up the pieces. He still runs missions, he works out of the city, he runs a group therapy for people who are trying to cope with loss. He has not been approached about Ant-Man's plan to go back in time and fix the world, yet. Due to the events of Infinity War he was sort of just reinstated as an Avenger since ... people are in short supply.
Mental or Physical Changes: - Very sad
- Shaved his beard :(
Power Changes: Nope!
Zelda | February 2025
Character Name: Zelda
Update Timeframe? Duration of mid-battle to post-game
Update Details: After Link and Midna defeat the puppeted Zelda, Midna uses the Fused Shadows to exorcise Ganondorf from Zelda's body. Zelda's soul leaves Midna's heart and returns to her own body.
Of course, Ganondorf isn't actually dead yet. Midna uses her magic to teleport Link and Zelda out of the castle before Ganondorf can attack them, but Ganondorf dispatches Midna and confronts Link and Zelda outside. Another fight ensues, this time aboard horseback. Zelda uses the Arrows of Light to weaken Ganondorf, and then Link fights him one on one and manages to finally defeat him. The Light Spirits ressurect Midna and return her to her true form. Midna transports herself, Link, and Zelda to the Mirror of Twilight. She says goodbye to them and uses the mirror to return home, shattering it behind her and severing the connection between Hyrule and the Twilight Realm.
With evil vanquished and Light restored to Hyrule, the kingdom begins to rebuild.
Mental or Physical Changes: Mental changes: none of significance.
Physical changes: Zelda is alive and has her own body again.
Power Changes: Zelda can now use the Arrows of Light.
Zanth Breaker | April 2025
Character Name: Zanth Breaker
Update Timeframe? It’s been a couple of weeks in universe, but a lot has happened in that time.
Update Details:
(contains: dnd typical violence and character deaths, temporary suicide in the context of breaking a magical effect.)
Zanth and the rest of the party were pulled into a pocket dimension by Swan’s night hag mother Haigha, who turned out to have a plan to protect her daughter by breaking the main villain, Elvina’s hold on the party’s fates.
The party also learned that a deal between Haigha and Elvina had tied Dirk and Swan’s fates together, with Dirk getting bad luck meant for Swan and Swan getting good luck meant for Dirk.
Haigha had intended for this to make her child stronger, but it actually resulted in Swan’s ability to run away from home, and gave Elvina the ability to continue manipulating Swan’s fate for her own ends.
Haigha planned to break this deal by killing Dirk, but Swan broke it by briefly killing herself, only to be revived immediately by K41N.
Elvina was trapped in the pocket dimension by Haigha, who was fighting to keep her there.
Zanth wrote Swan a love letter, and they are (finally) dating, to absolutely no-one’s surprise.
The party investigated more and fought more city council members, in the process finding out that more of the conspiracies were related to K41N, and the fact he was originally a stone child made by the goddess Magdalene, who Zanth grew up being taught to worship.
The crystal that powers him and serves as his mind turned out to be part of the physical form of Magdalene, which she had made to be able to interact more directly with the physical plane. K41N, originally Gabriel, was made to break a curse on one of Magdalene’s people, and given to the founder of Black Creek to raise.
He eventually was killed by his brother before being revived in his robot form. The party managed to recover the various pieces of the crystal that were being used by city council members for power and to create fake AI. Restoring the crystal has made Magdalene able to manifest as a character and help the party. Zanth learned that her warlock patron was secretly another piece of the Magdalene crystal.
Magdalene was able to tell the party that Elvina is a fey/fiend entity from another plane, who must have a physical tether we need to destroy, which has become the main goal of the campaign.
As they prepared, the party moved their loved ones to an underwater castle owned by an ally, thinking they would be safe there.
While they worked towards investigating Elvina, Zanth suggested that Swan reveal herself as a night hag changeling, or at least reveal her shapeshifting, so she could control the way this news became public instead of risking more blackmail attempts. She helped stage a performance where Swan revealed her changeling form, which Swan’s audience and theatre company both accepted and supported.
The party found out that the person likely to have the most information on Elvina was Zanth’s university boss, Hurk Ekie. Hurk had holed herself up in her own, intellectually distinct, pocket dimension made of ice, which the party had to find a way to transport themselves to. Once there, they found out that Hurk had defected from working for Elvina, and was looking for a way to defeat her.
The party helped to empower a scrying spell where they were able to get many answers on Elvina’s history and nature, but the most important part was that her physical tether is the current mayor of Black Creek. Zanth also found out that meeting her patron, getting kicked out of her childhood village, and the accident that got her kicked out of college were all arranged by Elvina.
Just as they learned this, Elvina killed Haigha and broke free, before appearing in person to kill Hurk and threatening the party.
They returned home to find the city council threatening the underwater castle and holding everyone’s important NPCs hostage. It was surrounded by an anti-magic field keeping anyone from leaving. There were also warrants out for the party, who had to go into hiding.
While Swan distracted the public with a dramatic, somewhat villainous monologue about tearing down the government for justice, Zanth took down the anti-magic field to let the hostages teleport away.
Everyone’s loved ones escaped successfully, though one important NPC was injured and others less close to the party are still captive.
The party is preparing to try to assassinate the Mayor at his annual Christmas speech.
Mental or Physical Changes: Nothing major; she’s happy about having a girlfriend back home, so she’ll be sad that Swan isn’t here. She's also having a bit of a crisis over how little agency she's had in her life.
Power Changes: he’s now a level 3 Battlesmith Artificer as well as a level 6 Ghost in the Machine Warlock. Her biggest new ability is being able to build a steel defender (details in the battlesmith link). Would I have to spend spoons on that? It’s a class ability with handwaved materials. Her specific one has some homebrew abilities, which I can copy in full if I need to.
Mod answer to questions
If there is a specific guardian back home Zanth wants, it could be a TDM reward or a purchase.
Alexei Shostakov
Character Name: Alexei Shostakov
Update Timeframe? We're going from 2016 to 2027 so technically 11 years. BUT Thunderbolts* never clarifies whether Alexei got Snapped or not, and I'm saying yes, which means the amount of time that passed for him was six years.
Update Details: Updated to the end of Thunderbolts* (not including the post-credit scenes)! This means he went home to deal with the post-Black Widow aftermath, got Snapped, was returned to a world where Natasha is gone and he apparently failed to keep in touch with Yelena properly. What about Melina? We don't know. At the start of Thunderbolts*, he lives in DC by himself and has his own (terrible) limo service. Insert the movie's events here, and shortly after the press conference he's visited by Thirteen again.
Mental or Physical Changes:
- He is now physically six years older from his earlier post-Black Widow canonpoint.
- Alexei has been working out in those six years, so he's a little slimmer. He also shaved off all his hair. Beard's still as glorious as ever, though!
- Alexei reintegrated into society relatively successfully and held down a steady job, but is implied to have suffered from a form of depression during that time. Still, he just found a new family of sorts, made amends with Yelena and got promoted with a new heroic purpose, so his mental health should be improving!
Power Changes: None.
Re: Alexei Shostakov
Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter
Character Name: Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter/Bullseye
Update Timeframe? 10 years from 2017 to 2027
Update Details: To the end of Daredevil: Born Again. After trying to assassinate the Fisks at Mayor Wilson Fisk's Inaugural Black and White Ball, Dex escaped in the chaos and is still in the wind at the end of the show. He's taken up shelter in an abandoned building.
Mental or Physical Changes: Physically, he's ten years older. He's gained a number of new scars after Daredevil tossed him off the roof a four-story building, most noticeably on his left cheek, and is missing one of his teeth in the front. Also, he's a little more muscular as well. Mentally, he's not doing too well. He's much more comfortable now with giving into his own personal darkness and resorting to killing as a solution to his problems, fully adopting the villainous persona of Bullseye that he is now referred to as. Still, there's some part of him left that hates what he has become and still longs to go back to his old life, even though that is now impossible.
Power Changes: N/A.
Re: Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter
Folkmore AU Update
Sephiroth | June 2024
Character Name: Sephiroth
Update Timeframe? One week.
Folkmore at Home: Sephiroth retained all of his Role abilities as a Legend.
AU Update Details: The conclusion of Part 1 of First Soldier! With the Rhadoran archipelago collapsing into the sea and the lifestream building into a mana torrent that'd work much like an actual tsunami, Sephiroth and Team Glenn set out to try to save Rosen, who does not take the loss of his entire people well at all, for some reason. The party splits because of the breaking terrain, with Sephiroth going ahead to try to convince Rosen to leave with them as they're of similar age and maybe he can be more convincing. By the time Team Glenn arrive, they get to watch Sephiroth cut the last Rhadoran survivor down.. at his own request, though Sephiroth doesn't.. bother to actually tell them this, too shocked by events to manage things like conversations. When Shinra finally does fully evacuate, he's taken the time even with the island rapidly sinking to rescue Rosen's dog, Refu. Upon returning to Midgar, they all go their separate ways.
Folkmore CRAU changes, from this point: All the info Sephiroth gained in Folkmore hasn't actually helped until NOW. Upon reaching Midgar, and still thoroughly upset about how things ended in Rhadore, he sets out to murder the hell out of Hojo to try to spare all his science projects more Hojoing, and is intercepted by the head of the Turks, Vincent's old partner, who convinces him to not ruin his chances of saving anyone else by killing a head of department. Sephiroth informs him of Vincent's survival and a few potential places he might be, and Veld assigns their rookiest member, Tseng, to check those locations and see if it's true. Whereupon an unhappy Miniroth is returned to Folkmore, having failed to save anyone at all so far, but ... at least he remembered. So maybe there's hope of changing things when he has more time.
The amount of time spent 'home' will extend to match the amount of time he's been missing for. Nothing not outlined here that's important will occur, just.. stretched through a longer timespan.
Mental or Physical Changes: Aside from being thoroughly despondent for a bit upon returning, not especially. He's had to kill his first genuine unarmed innocent civilian, and it sticks badly in his mind. It was, at the time, the most compassionate choice, but why does it hurt so much? It sits very uncomfortably alongside the knowledge that he is a genetic chimera and a genuine monster, but hasn't damaged his desire to help others at all, just left him unsure he actually CAN. As his determination to try remains, he remains a Legend.
Power Changes: Partly things i had not really considered for my actual app, so while this bit is not new things they are not things I have played with because I did not originally app them. Unlike most SOLDIERs, Sephiroth is capable of using a small number of spells without any materia to fuel them, with a strong affinity for Fire and Barrier especially. Using materia enhances this greatly, and allows him a level of magical strength he'd otherwise lack. New bit: having been told his true nature by Vincent and Zack, Sephiroth is now very aware he is half alien virus, and some of the abilities that grants him that he was til now ignorant of. He could, with time and learning, figure out how to alter his shape through illusion, to take on the appearance and even voice of other people by plucking the memories of those individuals straight from the minds of others (with ooc permission). These illusions are encompass all senses and even work against video recordings. It's instinctive for the forseeable future, he can't read minds actively and doesn't suddenly have access to what another person's done their whole life but he'll act accordingly as if he could in the moment. He can actively control those who possess his or Jenova's cells in their bodies, be they beast or sapient being, assuming his willpower is stronger than theirs. This can be directly puppeting their actions, or giving them commands to obey, or simply suggestions. If they can match his own will, then he can't influence them at all, and if they're stronger, then ... well, he's the one who can be controlled instead. He's still young and very impressionable, the risk is considerable even if he doesn't know it.
..some of this is headcanon, as we don't actually know if sephiroth could be controlled by someone with stronger will as it doesn't happen in canon.
Sephiroth | March 2025
Character Name: Sephiroth
Update Timeframe? Two weeks.
Folkmore at Home: Sephiroth retained all of his Role abilities as a Legend, his "omen", Casimir, and the growth/experience gained in learning to use his alien side. Which then didn't even get used at home.
AU Update Details: AU alterations continue! Thanks to making absolutely no progress at all on his conditioned responses to Hojo and others, upon returning to Midgar, Sephiroth fails to kill Hojo but does manage to badly wound the scientist; Turk intervention allowed for a spin of 'accident', and the Director of SOLDIER quickly assigned him to an easy low-stress mission in Robio, Wutai under the command of Second-Class Angeal Hewley. During the day before the mission, Verdot confirms Vincent Valentine has been found and dragged out of Nibelheim, putting Sephiroth in the Turks' good graces - hence their intervention. It's also the Turks' suggestion that Sephiroth be allowed interaction with other SOLDIERs his own age that are 'good loyal examples' he could benefit from Mission to Robio goes pretty much exactly the same up through Chapter 2, save that Sephiroth's surly unwillingness to cooperate stems primarily from lingering upset over failing to actually kill Hojo when he had the chance.. and a general intolerance of Angeal's stubborn persistence in trying to befriend him. All the incessant nagging however meant he was willing to reluctantly try cooperation - with Alissa Goldie, rescued SOLDIER, instead of Angeal. He is returned to Folkmore yet again, before what is very obviously a pending confrontation with Jenova can devastate his Legend run.
Mental or Physical Changes: Black-barred white wings are now black; the barring can still be seen in strong sunlight, the green eyespots remain. Mental changes, technically: an extremely high level of frustration with his own failings being brought so sharply into focus. Can, in the active pursuit of Legend-like behavior, now manifest a set of interlocking rings as a halo, though they look tangible they are not. He will never, ever admit that Angeal going on and on and ON about comradery amongst SOLDIERs may have a point, but he is definitely thinking about it a lot. Still determined to try to save as many people as he can, no matter the cost to himself. A small seed of Unnatural Obsession has been set into place over the cetra-forged blade Masamune.
Power Changes: None
Final First Soldier update
Character Name: Sephiroth
Update Timeframe? about four months, give or take a week.
Folkmore at Home: Sure did!
AU Update Details: Give us a general summary of how they changed their world/what has happened as a consequence!
The VERY approximate events of First Soldier part 2. Finished with Robio, dealt with Angeal more, encountered much the same events, except this time through he's very aware he's dealing with Jenova the entire time, and not poor Alissa. It doesn't matter much, he really wanted that sword. Acquires Masamune, and has several very lengthy discussions with Jenova that fails to actually sway him; all the training and effort he went through in Baba Yaga's school has paid off quite well! Though Sephiroth learns to accept Angeal's presence, friendship is still .. a very difficult thing, and 'tolerates reasonably well' is still about the best he can manage. When they return to Midgar, Bachman helpfully deletes most of the footage he took of the entire thing, and Sephiroth contends for a while with the fact that Matt, Glenn and Lucia really are never coming back. He takes advantage of masamune being both summonable and indestructible to, with a bit of helpful Turk interference, kill the Professor and escape Shinra Tower long enough to hand that world's Vincent a present of a head in a box.
Mental or Physical Changes: Not especially! Some new scars; the monsters of Robio are vicious. A new desire to not.. bother to ever go back there. He wouldn't mind staying in Folkmore forever.
Power Changes: Only change; he now has Masamune. Masamune is a ~magical sword~. No really. It's a cetra-forged summonable, indestructible, size-changing blade forged out of the meteor Jenova crashed to the Planet on. It has a will of its own, and is quite keen on destruction and slaughter in general, being part of Jenova's will and purpose. A strong enough will power - sephiroth's own in this case - keeps it well in check. He intends to have it exorcised.

Role Change
Toge Inumaki | July 2024
Character Name: Toge Inumaki
Current Role: Familiar
New Role: Myth
Role Qualities/Attributes: Instead of being able to sport his cute tanuki ears and tail, he will be sporting curled horns that tuck behind his ears, sharpened teeth and nails, as well as a demon-like tail. Saying goodbye to his Familiar powers means saying goodbye to his Familiar bonds with Maki and Yuta. He'll have improved darkvision, threat detection and enhanced speed.
Reasoning for Change: [ Not required at the time ]
Arthur Harrow | September 2024
Character Name: Arthur Harrow
Current Role: Legend
New Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes: He doesn't have his wings any more or any of the Legend traits. Since his familiar animal is a jackal I think he'd look scruffier but no other animal traits atm.
Checking for approval on being able to turn into a jackal familiar-wise as well as some magic stuff. He was previously studying with Magnifico at the Lavender Institute but I never got too specific on what he was proficient in learning as not to step on any toes.
Would it be okay if he has the beginning of simple elemental magic like being able to create small air bubbles in water and being more aware of the wind elementally (changes in it, weather upticks, general sensitivity, etc)? If that needs to be nerfed at all or nixed that's totally fine, I just thought I'd ask.
Reasoning for Change: I thought it would be interesting to bring Arthur into the game on his high-horse. To me the Legend role validated his sense of being "divinely chosen" multiple times and that he would be a real terror and likely to shake things up. Long-term storytelling-wise, I had the idea that Arthur would be rewarded for being fully self-righteous and able to get into trouble for thinking that way and that would ultimately lead him to becoming a Myth down the road.
I realized I was more interested in exploring the idea of Arthur as a hero and getting back those good qualities before he became immersed in revenge and killing: canon-wise already fell from grace. So far in-game he's had some less-than-Legend behaviors including stirring things up on the network regarding the credibility of Myths and getting in petty arguments with characters like MCU!Marc Spector.
A Familiar role would be an opportunity for him to realize that he unworthy and misses those Legend qualities in himself. He would make it a goal to be a Legend again and have to reflect on his hostile and manipulative behaviors.
Midge Maisel | December 2024
Character Name: Midge Maisel
Current Role: Familiar
New Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes: I'd like to change Midge's Familiar trait from being able to take on the traits of others that she's close to to being able to turn into a chocolate poodle. At first, she won't be able to control the change much, but eventually, she'll get the hang of it. She'll remain sentient as a dog, but won't be able to speak to other humans. She can communicate with others in their animal forms. She won't have any signs of her dog form when she's human (like ears or a tail). It'll be a complete change from one to the other.
Reasoning for Change: N/A
legend -> myth
Character Name: sephiroth
Current Role: legend
New Role: myth
Role Qualities/Attributes: The loss of all Legend traits. He will be gaining every myth thing available; horns, claws, fangs, a scattering of scales and a tail that is a bit crocodilian or dragon looking. It will take him time to learn to hide these traits. His already excellent night vision will get better, and threat-detection and heightened reflexes and speed in trade for Legend sheer power. Poison/gas resistance, enhanced luck and knack for new skills.
Reasoning for Change: The slow descent into being crushed by negative emotions has escalated recently with the loss of Vincent, his father figure and Familiar bond. Events will conspire soon to make him reject the responsibility of the safety of his world and his own need to suicide to save it. The fall from legend to myth will be based on his own perspective on himself, abandoning the path of the hero who can save everyone (even if it means his own death) for one he knows absolutely is far more selfish and cruel for the rest of the world but objectively better for himself.
And frankly he could do with learning some mythly suspicion of governing authorities.
Long term it will be healthier for him ironically, he's always had extremely volatile emotions and prone to dark mood swings, being a Legend had simply dialed it up to 11, and adding in on that the weight of feeling responsible for basically every crime his future self ever commits AND Shinra's made for a crushing burden. Without his Familiar there to help balance that, he's turned self-destructive. A little inward focus and selfishness will do him some good. It's not going to change his intention to save the Planet, merely.. how he goes about that, after a period of self-reflection.
Re: legend -> myth
sharon da silva | familiar to myth
Character Name: Sharon da Silva
Current Role: Familiar
New Role: Myth
Role Qualities/Attributes: She'll get what Myths typically do (claws, fangs, poison resistance, spidey-sense, seeing in the dark), but her skintone will be noticeably paler, black eyes instead of blue, and the tips of her fingers will be stained black. The angrier she feels, the more like Dark Alessa she will appear.
Reasoning for Change: Sharon has always walked a rather precarious line, driven intensely by both unfathomable levels of hatred and a deep well of love. The last six or so months of loss have unraveled her in an astonishingly negative degree, however, and she's no longer wanting to walk that line anymore.
She's reached a point where all she wants to be is selfish, and she's tired of pretending otherwise. Tired of considering how other people might be affected by her rage or her abilities or what will happen if Thirteen is killed. My girl is leaning hard into her darkness and following a new drumbeat.
