Check-in opens on the 1st at 12:01 AM EST.
Check-in closes on the 8th at 11:59 PM EST.
We do not require traditional "activity" check-ins, but we do require an interest check-in to ensure that our players are present and still engaged with the characters they play.
You will be required to check-in during the 1-8th of the month. If you cannot access a computer during this time, please let a mod or friend know so they can check-in for you.
You must check in your individual characters. If you fail to check in with any characters, they will be swept from the game.
If you missed check-in due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mods ASAP and let them know the situation.
We ask our players to be active in the game even without formal activity check requirements. If we notice any concerning patterns with the same players missing check-ins and being swept from the game or being irresponsible with check-ins or squatting we will contact the player directly. This may include restrictions from reapplication into the game or actual activity requirements.
Please respect your fellow players and mods! We want to keep this game activity-requirement-free and active.

Every player will have an overall check-in comment with their name as the subject line. Every character a player writes will have a comment with their name and fandom as the subject line. Each month, players need to post a comment under each character's comment with the month and year in the subject line.

We do not want links to threads, OOC explanations, or apologies. Folkmore is a chill game, and it's completely fine to have not played much.
We welcome and encourage handwaving. Give us something your character did in the background or plans you have to back thread. Note handwaved interactions you discussed with other players. Many players use their check-in posts as records of important beats their characters experienced.
The bottom line is to show you have some OOC idea what is going on IC, even when you're not actively able to RP, to demonstrate your continued engagement in the game with the character.

Summarized Activity: With this month being Viktor's big season 2 canon update wherein he disappeared for a week, he and K had a rollercoaster of a reunion and basically became inseparable afterward. There were some trial shenanigans, but most of K's time was devoted to helping Viktor with his suddenly returning emotions, and beginning to process the trauma of everything that transpired during what was for Viktor more than a year's absence from Folkmore. K also worked on some of his original compositions, including the promised song for Mel in exchange for a painting.

Summarized Activity: K had a somewhat hard time adjusting to not seeing Viktor as often as the prior month, but continued doing whatever he could for him and celebrated Valentine's Day with him. He also continued the trend of having rather serious TFLN conversations with several people, all of which provided food for thought. And having found himself with more spare time now, he resumed his magic studies in the hopes of helping Viktor, as well as learning more about his own programming in order to better handle his self-maintenance.

Summarized Activity: Viktor brought K into his astral realm and both were surprised by K's Omen also making an appearance. K did his best to ignore Pandora's Fox this time around, wasn't thrilled by the Trial's focus on regrets, and spent more time at Baba Yaga and Thoth.

Summarized Activity: K continued exploring Viktor's abilities with him in the hopes of helping him. He also joined in speculating on the new type of bond Steven Grant discovered, and found himself pulled into the Would You Rather phenomenon several times, during which he was surprised to meet a fellow robotic being, Ultron, who spoke of having parents. And K formally began his training with Maul, starting with meditation.

Summarized Activity: Since the changes Viktor's undergone make it so he no longer needs to eat, K's found himself with fewer and fewer people to cook for, and that's a bummer considering he originally learnt how to cook in order to feed the people he cares about. This led to him extending an offer to make food for Vi, and was happy she accepted — he welcomes the chance to stretch his culinary muscles. He also made some significant breakthroughs combating the Void, discovering a way to effectively cleanse the Void infestation within Viktor's mind; he's dedicated himself in earnest to the task. It doesn't solve all their problems, but it's great progress that makes him hopeful for the future.
