Rules & Decorum

Rules
Rules and Expected Decorum

First and foremost, show absolute respect and decency to your fellow players and the mods. This game is invite-only to encourage a positive community where everyone can feel safe and comfortable. We are all here to have fun without unnecessary stress.

Understand that your invitation to this game is a gesture of goodwill. We expect excellence from our player base and, as mods, promise excellency in return.

★ You must be 18+ to join.

★ Do not police people's content or preferences. Your morals do not entitle you to dictate other people's creativity no matter how offensive you may find it.

★ Use appropriate content warnings for anything containing sex, violence, mental health, non-con and/or alcohol/drugs. If a player clarifies needing specific content warnings, please make sure to respect that and provide the appropriate CWs. Use appropriate CWs when addressing the mod team as well.

★ Provide and keep public a permissions post throughout your stay in Folkmore. For more information on what permissions are, please see this link.

★ Do not power mod. The Fox is the supreme being here and is the only one who can drastically alter reality. Characters are not permitted to destroy the setting regardless of canon powers. The game naturally encourages and enables characters to become extremely powerful, but not to the extent of obliterating the game.

★ Do not info mod. Be realistic about the information your character can obtain.

★ Before using powers of any kind between characters please make sure to obtain player permission, especially in regards to mind-bending abilities or similar.

★ Do not abuse the spoons system. Be reasonable about how characters obtain and spend spoons.

★ Do not abuse the lack of activity. We are happy to have players with various play speeds, but please do not squat.

★ Players are not their characters. Respect the IC/OOC divide and always respect people's OOC limits above all else.

★ Communication among players is paramount in Folkmore, and players are expected to communicate with one another, be respectful, practice common sense, and avoid assumptions. We ask for players to talk with one another before reaching out to the mod team with concerns. Respect other players and their boundaries. Contact us if you feel yours are not being respected.

★ Respect the real lives of players. We do not tolerate disrespecting the identity or real-life struggles of our players or mods. Be compassionate and understanding.

★ We will ask players to leave the game if we are provided evidence of a player being hostile, abusive, inappropriate, partaking in dogpiling, wank, or projecting bigoted ideologies.

If you ever feel there are rules being broken or a player is being inappropriate, please contact a mod immediately and have evidence ready. We will judge each situation on a case-by-case basis.
