Check-in opens on the 1st at 12:01 AM EST.
Check-in closes on the 8th at 11:59 PM EST.

We do not require traditional "activity" check-ins, but we do require an interest check-in to ensure that our players are present and still interested in the characters they play.

You will be required to check-in during the 1-8th of the month. If you cannot access a computer during this time, please let a mod or friend know so they can check-in for you.

You must check in your individual characters. If you fail to check in with any characters, they will be swept from the game.

If you missed check-in due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mods ASAP and let them know the situation.

We ask our players to be active in the game even without formal activity check requirements. If we notice any concerning patterns with the same players missing check-ins and being swept from the game or being irresponsible with check-ins or squatting we will contact the player directly. This may include restrictions from reapplication into the game or actual activity requirements.

Please respect your fellow players and mods! We want to keep this game activity-requirement-free and active.

Anatomy Of Check-In

Every player will have an overall check-in comment with their name as the subject line. Every character a player writes will have a comment with their name and fandom as the subject line. Each month, players need to post a comment under each character's comment with the month and year in the subject line.

The comment structure will look like:

Check-in Content

Check-in comments are IC only, and are required to include a minimum of one thing your character did this month. You're welcome to include more.

Formatting is your choice: sentences, bullet points, something else. We're not picky!

We do not want links to threads, OOC explanations, or apologies. Folkmore is a chill game, and it's completely fine to have not played much.

We welcome and encourage handwaving. Give us something your character did in the background or plans you have to back thread. Note handwaved interactions you discussed with other players. Many players use their check-in posts as records of important beats their characters experienced.

The bottom line is to show you have some OOC idea what is going on IC, even when you're not actively able to RP, to demonstrate your continued interest in the game with the character.

❄️ Mizu spoke about Mikio for the first time in her life, and it wasn't even due to a trial. Plagued by thoughts of him since getting together with Vergil because he's her only point of comparison, Mizu chose to tell Vergil about what happened with both Mikio and her mother (spoilers: not good). They spoke about it, and beyond Vergil talking about caring for her (she sobbed for some reason? it's a mystery), he also talked about letting people in and whether someone, cough swordfather cough, might still care for her. Mizu doesn't think it likely, but she acknowledged the possibility and decided, maybe just maybe, to let Rin in a little bit more. Progress is slow.
❄️ That's why when she ran into Rin looking kind of out of it, Mizu not only invited her for tea (typical enough) but took the hint to accept Rin spending some time with her in the library researching London. It's a sad state of affairs that such a thing shocked Rin, but really, no one's that surprised by that. Mizu is trying.
❄️ Mizu continues to spend more time on the network than certain people, and this month it seems to have paid off. Nero may be against getting stabbed, but he wants to get beat up to practice his devil trigger. Mizu is game. She also found a hardcore sparring partner in Kazuya. She's really going to get the most out of her healing ability the way that's going.
❄️ The trials weren't entirely avoided. That includes wandering through the Lore river and its invoked sadness to run into Makie. They've mostly spoken about Rin in the past, but this conversation touches on other matters as well. Mizu may or may not have helped, but she gave the time to listen.
