We do not require traditional "activity" check-ins, but we do require an interest check-in to ensure that our players are present and still interested in the characters they play.

You will be required to check-in during the 1-8th of the month. If you cannot access a computer during this time, please let a mod or friend know so they can check-in for you.

You must check in your individual characters. If you fail to check in with any characters, they will be swept from the game.

If you missed check-in due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mods ASAP and let them know the situation.

We ask our players to be active in the game even without formal activity check requirements. If we notice any concerning patterns with the same players missing check-ins and being swept from the game or being irresponsible with check-ins or squatting we will contact the player directly. This may include restrictions from reapplication into the game or actual activity requirements.

Please respect your fellow players and mods! We want to keep this game activity-requirement-free and active.

Anatomy Of Check-In

Every player will have an overall check-in comment with their name as the subject line. Every character a player writes will have a comment with their name and fandom as the subject line. Each month, players need to post a comment under each character's comment with the month and year in the subject line.

Check-in Content

Check-in comments are IC only, and are required to include a minimum of one thing your character did this month. You're welcome to include more.

Formatting is your choice: sentences, bullet points, something else. We're not picky!

We do not want links to threads, OOC explanations, or apologies. Folkmore is a chill game, and it's completely fine to have not played much.

We welcome and encourage handwaving. Give us something your character did in the background or plans you have to back thread. Note handwaved interactions you discussed with other players. Many players use their check-in posts as records of important beats their characters experienced.

The bottom line is to show you have some OOC idea what is going on IC, even when you're not actively able to RP, to demonstrate your continued interest in the game with the character.

🧨 After arriving in August, getting some medical treatment, and taking the survival exercise as the opening act of training, Bakugo spent the first half of the month crashing with Shoto and complaining about some of Shoto's choices. Like not eating real food.
🧨 Not so surprise, an emergency erupted! Katsuki was assigned to cooking, a task he took seriously (food is necessary for survival) and made sure no one stole too much food (cough Sephiroth cough). He also found out about a potential villain (Prince Demande) and is keeping an eye out for him.
🧨 When Baba Yaga brought people back, Katsuki led efforts to organize a rescue team, which left on the 27th after the... fun and games and making of so much gingerbread (why would anyone really live in gingerbread?). It's getting Katsuki to branch out and be a real hero. He's glad to have a mission.

🧨 The heroing hero heroed. Yes that works as a sentence. So long as everyone was trapped at Amrita and people were surviving outside it, Bakugo worked on the rescue team saving people. It means he spent more time, technically, inside Baba Yaga than at the school grounds themselves. That's fine. Rescue operations are important, and everyone else had things handled there.
🧨 He still participated in Pandora's Fox (thank you Baba Yaga?). He both got quite a range of replies, based on his hero profile, everything from an adult trying to save him or whatever to people with some kind of connection to the idea of villains. One Myth clearly has a chip on his shoulder. Katsuki isn't sure what to make of Makie. They worked together well on rescue, but she loved and loves a now deceased villain. Sure the man isn't hurting anyone anymore, but it doesn't make sense to him. She doesn't.
🧨 Katsuki commented on multiple Familiars and started a range of conversations with people he wouldn't normally talk to every day. Non-hero types, which have been his entire social circle for a while. That is what Familiars are so that makes sense.
🧨 Most of all, he read Hawks's profile. He spoke with Hawks. He learned more about the terrible shit that the Commission has been up to and got too mad to be able to speak about it with Hawks anymore. So he blew off steam and emotions training against Todoroki. He hasn't forgotten, however.
🧨 Since there's no regular groups to help with cleanup, Bakugo has been a hero and helping out. He even blows shit up when it is needed. Anywhere Not Cold, thanks. Including Turtle Island. Don't tell anyone, but he likes the turtle. And his rock. (and five spoons).

🧨 Katsuki continues to keep an eye on Hawks. They met at the Lore River, and first Katsuki spoke about his issues as a way of being Better at that than Hawks, but Hawks also spoke about missing having a family (aka people who just like him/don't need him as a hero). Katsuki tried reaching out to Hawks, but the guy remains adamant about holding others at a distance for their own safety, so patrols it is. He's set up patrols with the guy. Katsuki may be blind to working on his own potential, but he's not to the people around him. (yay another rock).
🧨 It is a mark of friendship that Katsuki investigated the footprints in the river bed with Shoto. Shoto has all kinds of crazy ridiculous ideas (aliens, why aliens), but there's worse ways to spend his time.
🧨 Other people might not call them quirks, but Katsuki found someone who needs similar kind of training to Kirishima, and he's so down to do it.
🧨 Katsuki went to the potluck, ate soup, and got waaaaaaay too emotionally open with Vi. Everyone has to have an introduction to the potential effects of food in this universe. However, the next day he woke up hungover for the first time in his life, with her spoon, and without his relic. Showing true maturity, he used her spoon to purchase a temporary tattoo, sneaked into her house, and planted it right on her cheek. Revenge successful. Oh except she totally glitterbombed them both once awake, and he's never going to feel clean again in his life.
🧨 On a more hero front, Bakugo leaped into the ring in the fighting pits to help save Altair, yes that murderous Myth, because he's not going to let anyone get killed right in front of him. Not even a murderer. He also helped make a koi pond in Makie's garden to help the selkies. Real hero stuff.
🧨 Less heroically, he navigated the dessert with Oleandra and sniped with her plenty along the way. Peak maturity.

🧨 Katsuki, through a miscommunication, prompted Vi to draw Darth Maul as Santa. The request was for All Might as a mall santa, but alas cultural differences. Horrifying if funny. Plus, he's not one to point out how much he wanted the art of All Might. He may not be the one with a room full of All Might swag, but he's just as large a fan as Izuku.
🧨 It being the holidays meant gifts. He wasn't much to talk about them, but Bakugo got gifts for his people... oh and glitterbombed by Vi's gift. Thanks :| It's fine. He tried to get people stuff they would like and cooked good food for Christmas. Yes, including soba, Shoto.
🧨 Katsuki doesn't want anything to do with the murder mysteries on the trains. They're so ridiculous that he doesn't find them actually helpful. The UA one was better, even if they messed it up.
