Check-in opens on the 1st at 12:01 AM EST.
Check-in closes on the 8th at 11:59 PM EST.

We do not require traditional "activity" check-ins, but we do require an interest check-in to ensure that our players are present and still interested in the characters they play.

You will be required to check-in during the 1-8th of the month. If you cannot access a computer during this time, please let a mod or friend know so they can check-in for you.

You must check in your individual characters. If you fail to check in with any characters, they will be swept from the game.

If you missed check-in due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mods ASAP and let them know the situation.

We ask our players to be active in the game even without formal activity check requirements. If we notice any concerning patterns with the same players missing check-ins and being swept from the game or being irresponsible with check-ins or squatting we will contact the player directly. This may include restrictions from reapplication into the game or actual activity requirements.

Please respect your fellow players and mods! We want to keep this game activity-requirement-free and active.

Anatomy Of Check-In

Every player will have an overall check-in comment with their name as the subject line. Every character a player writes will have a comment with their name and fandom as the subject line. Each month, players need to post a comment under each character's comment with the month and year in the subject line.

The comment structure will look like:

Check-in Content

Check-in comments are IC only, and are required to include a minimum of one thing your character did this month. You're welcome to include more.

Formatting is your choice: sentences, bullet points, something else. We're not picky!

We do not want links to threads, OOC explanations, or apologies. Folkmore is a chill game, and it's completely fine to have not played much.

We welcome and encourage handwaving. Give us something your character did in the background or plans you have to back thread. Note handwaved interactions you discussed with other players. Many players use their check-in posts as records of important beats their characters experienced.

The bottom line is to show you have some OOC idea what is going on IC, even when you're not actively able to RP, to demonstrate your continued interest in the game with the character.

❄️ September started normal enough. Mizu spoke with a variety of people about weapons, their weapons specifically. It both helped her gain more knowledge about what people in Folkmore are using, got her the chance to try Maul's lightsaber, and raise Rin's awareness about what her sword might say about her. Get more Lore, do more research, life as normal.
❄️ Mizu arrived at Amrita Academy on the 13th, but the only two people she cares about in Folkmore did not: Vergil and Rin. For completely logical reasons, she made many many attempts to cross the lorasses moat (if there was a prize for that, she'd win). While she did not succeed, she came to rely on Amity's goo assist as needed, accepted help from Eda, and discussed who was on the other side (no names) with a stranger cough Dante cough. An angry weak man even forcibly dried her laundry for her because she was wearing wet clothes after bathing/washing them. For what's notably a one person activity, Mizu interacted a fair amount over it.
❄️ Mizu also worked at her assigned job: crafting. Via supplies from survival squares and Star Children's efforts (including notably her own), she was able to set up well enough to make kitchen knives and other useful tools to help Star Children out.
❄️ Vergil returned after a week. Mizu let him sleep on her mat, split a meal, and took him to the private pool she's used for bathing. After letting him clean up... well, Mizu tackled Vergil, and surprisingly, he quite liked it. A lot. One failed attempt at self-sabotage later, Mizu and Vergil had quite the nice time (and needed to bathe again). Mizu has not thought out what this means exactly but has subconsciously come up with an excuse to stay in Folkmore longer. It's logical, okay?
❄️ Mizu spoke with Makie on her return/waking up and directed her toward the rescue party since Rin still wasn't back.
