Check-in opens on the 1st at 12:01 AM EST.
Check-in closes on the 8th at 11:59 PM EST.

We do not require traditional "activity" check-ins, but we do require an interest check-in to ensure that our players are present and still interested in the characters they play.

You will be required to check-in during the 1-8th of the month. If you cannot access a computer during this time, please let a mod or friend know so they can check-in for you.

You must check in your individual characters. If you fail to check in with any characters, they will be swept from the game.

If you missed check-in due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mods ASAP and let them know the situation.

We ask our players to be active in the game even without formal activity check requirements. If we notice any concerning patterns with the same players missing check-ins and being swept from the game or being irresponsible with check-ins or squatting we will contact the player directly. This may include restrictions from reapplication into the game or actual activity requirements.

Please respect your fellow players and mods! We want to keep this game activity-requirement-free and active.

Anatomy Of Check-In

Every player will have an overall check-in comment with their name as the subject line. Every character a player writes will have a comment with their name and fandom as the subject line. Each month, players need to post a comment under each character's comment with the month and year in the subject line.

The comment structure will look like:

Check-in Content

Check-in comments are IC only, and are required to include a minimum of one thing your character did this month. You're welcome to include more.

Formatting is your choice: sentences, bullet points, something else. We're not picky!

We do not want links to threads, OOC explanations, or apologies. Folkmore is a chill game, and it's completely fine to have not played much.

We welcome and encourage handwaving. Give us something your character did in the background or plans you have to back thread. Note handwaved interactions you discussed with other players. Many players use their check-in posts as records of important beats their characters experienced.

The bottom line is to show you have some OOC idea what is going on IC, even when you're not actively able to RP, to demonstrate your continued interest in the game with the character.

sansa spent a lot of time at ezra's house near the beginning of the month while obi-wan was gone, making some of the dishes obi-wan taught her for the house. she consoled ezra over dinner when leia briefly ran away. she attended rue's wedding, socializing and catching many paper doves. very shortly after this she was put on a houseboat in nereid with maki zen'in for the thalia's comedy plot. both she and lady found this inconvenient as it was impossible for her to stay outside the boat in lady's body overnight without them both being returned to the boat very abruptly. though she didn't like being on the boat at night, she did make friends with many of the river nymphs at nymph port. she made a network post asking about the housing situation but didn't really come to any conclusions besides the fact that a powerful spirit, likely but not necessarily thirteen, wanted them to stay in different places with different people for a time. shortly after this she made cal kestis curtains for his temporary home in the reef residences. she and matthew arcane also came up with the idea for a group home for young star children and anyone who might need assistance with food, clothing etc. called the rookery, which matthew intends to purchase and inhabit and sansa intends to decorate and supply. she met rhaenyra targaryen while attempting to purchase food at the wandering dog cart in wintermute, who told her about her 'half-brother' jon snow's birth parents as they had met in a previous game. sansa also met and had dinner with the disreputable dog at the cutting edge. she was reunited with her friend tory nichols from their previous game during one of thoth's experiments, and helped steve rogers rescue some neighborhood ducks from a neighbor's house. she made cal kestis curtains for his temporary home in the reef residences. she intends to find a new place to live once she's allowed to leave the boat, and has made plans with sharon da silva to look for one. she continues to work hard at jewellia academy and at hoot couture, and to practice ice skating indoors at the rink at kuma lisa academy.
