Attendance Check-In
Check-In Information

Check-in opens on the 1st at 12:01 AM EST.
Check-in closes on the 8th at 11:59 PM EST.

[ 2022 Check-in Page2023 Check-in PageFull Navigation ]

We do not require traditional "activity" check-ins, but we do require an interest check-in to ensure that our players are present and still interested in the characters they play.

You will be required to check-in during the 1-8th of the month. If you cannot access a computer during this time, please let a mod or friend know so they can check-in for you.

You must check in your individual characters. If you fail to check in with any characters, they will be swept from the game.

If you missed check-in due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mods ASAP and let them know the situation.

We ask our players to be active in the game even without formal activity check requirements. If we notice any concerning patterns with the same players missing check-ins and being swept from the game or being irresponsible with check-ins or squatting we will contact the player directly. This may include restrictions from reapplication into the game or actual activity requirements.

Please respect your fellow players and mods! We want to keep this game activity-requirement-free and active.

Anatomy Of Check-In

Every player will have an overall check-in comment with their name as the subject line. Every character a player writes will have a comment with their name and fandom as the subject line. Each month, players need to post a comment under each character's comment with the month and year in the subject line.

The comment structure will look like:
🦊 Player Name
🦊 Character Name | Fandom
🦊 Month Year
🦊 Month Year
🦊 Character Name | Fandom
🦊 Month Year
🦊 Month Year
Check-in Content

Check-in comments are IC only, and are required to include a minimum of one thing your character did this month. You're welcome to include more.

Formatting is your choice: sentences, bullet points, something else. We're not picky!

We do not want links to threads, OOC explanations, or apologies. Folkmore is a chill game, and it's completely fine to have not played much.

We welcome and encourage handwaving. Give us something your character did in the background or plans you have to back thread. Note handwaved interactions you discussed with other players. Many players use their check-in posts as records of important beats their characters experienced.

The bottom line is to show you have some OOC idea what is going on IC, even when you're not actively able to RP, to demonstrate your continued interest in the game with the character.
Posting Check-In

Character Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
Wolfwood met a goat. He would absolutely deny he cares about his goat, but if you freaking harm it, you'll get punished. This is a perfectly normal reaction.
Wolfwood chose to opt out of Lavender's trial. The reward wasn't worth it. He found the reward suspicious really, like a way to get people to do something worse than usual. Also, given the whole Wild Hunt thing, he'd rather not.
Wolfwood was pulled into Vash's trial, where he learned more about Plants and Vash's past. He's absolutely not having even more feelings than the absolutely just friends feelings he has for Vash.
The grumpy hissy fox was a vibe Wolfwood is used to, so he donated to the wooden spoon that fox brought to the Shattered Spoon Shrine. He was an asshole prone to being violent in people's dreams. But he hasn't talked about that with anyone.

Summarized Activity:
Wolfwood would deny it to anyone who asks, but he's starting to acknowledge more of his own feelings. Internally. Not aloud. Never aloud. No thank you. But progress.
Wolfwood got freaked out by Aerith talking about the planet being alive. Fortunately that was her planet, not Folkmore. However, he's still sometimes squinting at the ground suspiciously. It's sort of like worms, y'know?
Wolfwood got Vash more plants because apparently he likes giving gifts.

Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
Wolfwood dodged any movies about him and Vash, and may no one ever give him deja vu because he's not interested. He cared about the sharks though because they kind of remind him of orphans.
Wolfwood knows technology is important and keeps people alive and shit, but seriously, it does so much bad stuff. Is this fair going to just... ignore that? He pulled Vash away from the Plant exhibit because see previous with bad shit. The fuck, Thoth?
Everyone be nice to animals. Even giant cats. This works out well because apparently it gets you powers? He's confused, but maybe he can slowly roast the fungi he can make grow now? Yum?

Summarized Activity:
Wolfwood and Vash actually talked about some feelings instead of distracting themselves from them. Good job, guys. Expressing feelings, aloud. growth.gif.
Wolfwood went to Rue's wedding on the sly. He went to their Halloween party, and it just seemed... right. He collected a fair number of paper doves and spoke with Vanessa.
Wolfwood found himself suddenly in Thoth in inappropriate clothing (because he didn't expect to be there, he was buying food damn it) and mushing to go save a Natasha Romanoff lost in the snow. He told her a bit about Folkmore while otherwise not the most enthusiastic about this turn of events. It seems suspicious that they weren't attacked.

Character Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
It has been a month for Wolfwood. A carrying forward from what he learned the previous month about Vash dying/getting closer to death. It kicked his butt into gear to work toward a way to save Vash. So when Lavender offered Lore rewards for making confessions at the bonfire? Wolfwood went for it. He confessed to Sharon about fessing up to Vash and still feeling guilty for it. He confessed to Vash about having feelings for him, which Vash confusingly responded to with confessing he wanted to stay in Folkmore. Forever. So many feelings. But hey, he and Vash finally talked about their feelings? More importantly, he'll be able to help Vash soon.
The food here is great. He ate food. Then he experienced Vash's memory in a dream and woke up in Vash's body. Sure, that's perfectly normal. They definitely had a normal emotional time with that.

Character Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
The entirety of Folkmore catching fire was super concerning. Wolfwood doesn't want Folkmore turning into Noman's Land. He knows that's not the history of Noman's Land, but still. Come on. He was also a bit annoyed given he made some big confessions to the bonfire, so it feels like this shouldn't be his responsibility. That struggle between wanting to keep Folkmore nice and not wanting to have to share things at the drop of a fiery hat was the core of his struggle in the second half of June. He did do a confession to save Vash's garden. That garden means a lot to Vash. No snitching, plants.
He's still not sure how he managed to stumble into a relationship with Vash, but he's sticking to it. Talking isn't always horrible (?!).

Summarized Activity:
Vash and Wolfwood are so good at not talking about things, even when it's put obviously in front of them. Sorry, Thirteen, you'll have to try harder. She may have been misled by the whole bonfire thing working to get convo, so maybe she needs to offer more carrots instead of sticks or mirrors.
Wolfwood was glamoured to looking like he did before he was experimented on. His mind remained the same, so it was a strange experience that made him think about that harder. Vash, having turned into a fae, could see both the glamour and Wolfwood. They sat next to the lake as Wolfwood had a lot of unwanted feelings about it.

Character Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
So no thanks, not even a fake thanks, Wolfwood briefly spent a little time as a Myth. As best he could, only Vash saw him that way (because Vash was there and already saw it, or else he'd have preferred even Vash not see it). Horns that twisted to shape like barrels of guns. Claws. It was like he became the punisher himself, instead of lugging it around. As with many things, Wolfwood buried his concerns in alcohol and avoidance. It ended, and now he never needs to talk about it. Ever.
Talking about things? Not his strong suit, but he indulged in some anonymous messages on the network when that meme went up late in the month. Shocker, no shocker, Sharon replied and gave him crap about his shit. Even when she doesn't know it's him! He also spoke with Rin, which he hopes doesn't mean she'll leave Folkmore soon. RIP if so.
Dumb as a scavenger hunt may be, Wolfwood is taking it seriously because survival is serious shit. Yes his ideas are still best suited to the desert-like world of Noman's Land. Also, it's weird that he has uh some Plants? What the fuck? They're still in cubes, and he has no idea what to do about/with that.

Character Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
Wolfwood revealed himself to Sharon accidentally. The good news is that she's going to introduce him to some people she knows. The bad news? A friend knows how badly he's doing. Womp womp. (That's a good thing, Wolfwood, come on).
Wolfwood also ended up discussing justice, right/wrong, and legal systems while drunk with a stranger. Noman's Land shouldn't be anyone's model, so he'd never claim they have it better, but he has questions about the whole just locking people away thing.
Wolfwood arrived safe and sound at Amrita Academy and was assigned to hunting/gathering. Knowing nothing about plants (only one Plant), he mostly stuck to hunting... and with his smaller guns, so there'd be something to eat. While he's not keen on being a huge team player, he doesn't mind hunting and getting the benefits from others. So what if he's taking more than he's giving. It's what people want to do right?
He really hopes Folkmore doesn't become a terrible shithole because it's been far better than home. So all in all, he's invested in what happens.

Summarized Activity:
Someone Wolfwood had talked with once brought up atonement on the network, so like any Catholic priest, he was there. He didn't say as much, but his thoughts on atonement are very much around what he'd like to do to the people who worked on him and what he thinks he deserves from all the people he's killed/harmed. You know it's great stuff :|
Wolfwood ignored Pandora's Fox because he wants a bond with Vash. Maybe he should bring that up again. The first time went right over Vash's head.
Sharon got her mom back. Good for Sharon. She doesn't have to be such a jerk about it and make him talk about his brother. AKA once it reached that point, he told her to go be happy with her mom, and she reached out the very next damn day. Thanks, no thanks. Oh, her mom has a sense of humor. That's good.

Character Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
Wolfwood is making his life here, and as he discussed with Sharon, if he's doing that, he should really try to make some more friends. So he bucked it up and let Sharon give him a little bit of an intro to him and the other guy (Marc) and looked for a chance to get to know him. As it turned out, at the start of the month, Marc and company decided to move to newly available real estate. So Wolfwood volunteered to help paint the walls because it's a thing to do, not just awkward hellos. It also came with a beer break. See, totally casual. He's not convinced it's really made friends, but he's trying.
Have you ever tried to wrestle a river? Well this guy, with the help of another buff guy named Zack, has. Did it go well? No, no, and no. They weren't being that smart, but damn if they didn't try their hardest.
Also, Wolfwood couldn't say no to a selkie asking for help, so RIP the ability to shower. He's not a softie, you're a softie.

Character Name: Nicholas D Wolfwood
Player Name: Sil
Summarized Activity:
It's the holiday season. That means holiday stuff. It was never much back home, but that's why Wolfwood likes celebrating it here. That led him to exchange gifts with a grumpy Vergil, but they connected over the poetry Vergil read. Wolfwood got the name of the poem, so he could incorporate it (and the origami daffodil) into Vash's gift. He exchanged enough gifts that he found one on a pillow at home waiting for him. More medicine from home. He's not sure if that's a good omen for the year.
Without knowing it, Wolfwood interacted with Marc again, with Marc under his Moon Knight persona (aka Sir Moon or Moon-san). Marc summoned an enormous Moon Knight mech, and Wolfwood offered to test its capabilities with his punisher. Best know now right?
