Player plot : Waters of Youth
Waters Of Youth: Age altering event
Hello everyone, this is Juu and this month I bring you a player plot that can involve other players if you want to be part of it! It will start on the 10th of April and run until the end of April, and it has no other time-specific points.
This plot will run alongside April trials.
Background
Not long ago, Kaneki learned his soulmate is immortal; Kaneki however, is not and he is also aware Star Children age while in Folkmore. After his canon updated and after a lot of Trauma⟨™⟩ Kaneki decided he must become immortal and thus he started learning about folklore and magic through books and stumbled upon the Fountain of Youth, a mythical spring which allegedly restores the youth of anyone who drinks or bathes in its waters.
Thus, Kaneki will use his spoons to "build" the Fountain of Youth and bring it to Folkmore, which will in turn have consequences. This fountain will be located near his and Dirk's house.
Thus, Kaneki will use his spoons to "build" the Fountain of Youth and bring it to Folkmore, which will in turn have consequences. This fountain will be located near his and Dirk's house.
The Consequences
🦊 Leakage
By bringing a magical building into Folkmore, a building that does not exist in his world and he never saw, will end up interfering with the Lore, and this will cause the fountain's water to leak out into Folkmore: the water will spread out, form streams, puddles and seep into people's houses (this may include drinking wells).
🦊 The water
Whoever touches or drinks these waters will have their age altered: they become young, or old, or perhaps they are constantly changing their age at every breath they take. Their mind can follow the age-change or not, which means characters can become actual kids, or simply children with an adult's mind - and vice-versa.
🦊 Mermaids
The Fountain is protected by little mermaid-like creatures. Mermaids are said to give eternal life to those who eat one, however, that won't really happen. You are still welcome to try.
These mermaids will try to retrieve the water and bring it back to the Fountain of Youth, and that includes the water that Star Children touched or drunk. They are able to take back the water from Star Children through a gentle touch like holding hands or maybe even a small kiss. Because not everyone will want a kiss from a mermaid, this means Star Children might be harassed by these mermaids until they give back the water they accidentally (or not) stole. Taking the water back will revert the Star Children back to their original age.
These mermaids are small at first, but they'd be able to change their size and become larger. If someone tries to fight them, they will just fade away and reappear back near the water. They are 100% peaceful.

Who to blame & the Fountain itself
The Fountain of Youth is located in Cruel Summer, near Kaneki's and Dirk's ranch, throughout the whole event. Kaneki was the one that summoned it through spoons without really having seen the building before, or being very specific about what he wanted, which is what made it go wrong. Please do blame Kaneki for this.
He will however still think he can fix it somehow. If anyone tries to destroy the fountain will probably have to deal with a tiny angry ghoul because Kaneki believes he can fix things without destroying his chance at becoming immortal.
But even if convinced to destroy it, the Fountain is actually kind of indestructible until all the water is returned: after it is destroyed, it will just rebuild itself again. Kaneki will not be able to actually stop anything, and the plot will have to run its course. Sorry guys!

Opt-Out
Characters would only be affected if they touch the water from the fountain. Players can simply state that the waters did not reach the characters, allowing them to stay away from the event. Since the mermaids will only be near the waters and those who took some of the water, as long the characters avoid the water, they will not be bothered by a mermaid.
The End
Eventually, the mermaids will return all the water to the Fountain of Youth. Doing so will cause the magical properties of the waters to disappear and the Mermaids to vanish, and it's assumed that they returned to their world.
The fountain will remain behind with mild anti-aging properties. Nothing drastic and nothing permanent, but good enough to keep the skin clear!
Kaneki will not become immortal )= (there are other ways for him to become immortal actually. Potions, requesting a new power through spoons, etc. He is just very extra and goes for the most complicated options).

Questions?
CW: potty humor
Can the mermaids take back the water that Star Children drank after it passes through their system?
(Will the mermaids be taking their pee?)

Sheik is trans, and his childhood was very much being Princess Zelda. Would the age reversion display that childhood, or would he get to be a tiny version of his current self? (And do current clothes adjust, too?)

Kaneki Ken | Tokyo Ghoul | Familiar
🦊 Kaneki will summon the fountain and immediately get turned into a child. He will keep his adult mind through this event and he will remain as a child rather than changing to other ages at some point.
🦊 Kaneki will remain near the fountain throughout the whole event as he tries to figure out a way to fix it. So he will not be found in Folkmore, and if anyone wants to meet him, you have to come to Cruel Summer for that.
🦊 Anyone who wants to approach the fountain and figure out a way to stop this, will have to deal with Kaneki. He will NOT allow anyone near the fountain at first, afraid they will just ruin everything
you already ruined everything, ken. Kaneki will not hurt friends but if he doesn't know you... well, he might be aggressively stubborn...🦊 Kaneki can be convinced to stop! However, even if he is convinced to stop, it's not like... it will do any good because the fountain can not be stopped until all the youth water is returned OOPSIE.
🦊 He will apologize after )=
🦊 He will still want to find a way not to age or become immortal, so there is also the chance to help him with that? Maybe?

I'd love to have him and Fran interact sometime, either after or during since their conversation about things either during or after if you'd like. Since their conversation it might be interesting and she'd be very curious why he thinks he has to be immortal too.

Mina Ashido | My Hero Academia | Legend
She will be around to help whoever needs her. She loves kids, and I'd absolutely love for Mina to just adopt some who might need an "adult".
She will not going after the fountain itself and I absolutely want a large mermaid to steal her first kiss. This will be Mina's lesbian awakening lmao

Junpei Yoshino | Jujutsu Kaisen | Familiar
Please feel free to pat the bunny in spite of his grump. He can be mollified with veggies.
Tony Stark | MCU | Myth
🧲 Phase 1:
Tony will be his freshly-18 year old, just graduated from MIT self both physically and mentally. He's had exactly nothing bad happen to him in his entire life just yet, except for his dad being mean to him when he has the time, so you all get to see Tony at his absolute douchiest and most trauma-free. He won't keep some of his usual Myth traits; he'll still have the forked tongue and teeth, but no horns and no claws. I just think that'd be a little much for Mr. 1988.
🧲 Phase 2:
Once the other events for the month kick off a bit, Tony will spend the rest of the month aged back to his usual 53 year old, traumatized, marginally less narcissistic self; basically I'm going to go through each thread I end up doing with the other events on a case-by-case basis and decide whether Tony's older or not just depending on the context of the thread.
🧲 Bonus:
Tony's a sucker for kids. If you want your bitty to get adopted by a halfway decent dad once he's back to dad age, he's a pretty okay option.

If I have Wednesday aged down your phase 2 could be an interesting time for them to meet.

Henry Oak | Dungeons & Daddies | Legend
I've got several options that I'm open to playing for the event!
🍃 Prince Hen'Ry Oak, aka an angsty teen who will be glad to be out from under his dad's thumb. (CW for cult upbringings for this one.)
🍁 Regular old Henry Oak, unchanged and ready to dad some kiddos! Veggie burgers and herbal tea for everyone!!
🍂 Grandpa Henry, aged up to his 60s and yet somehow not looking all that much older (thanks to his elf genes and his druid magic slowing his aging). He had another kid in his 50s, and now has two beautiful grandchildren, who he will happily tell everyone all about.

He'd really appreciate Henry chiming in on this.
Is Barold amenable to playing with young children? (is that recommendable?)
Bonus: Esteban could mention that he's not sure what constitutes as "safe" for children because he'd been raised weirdly, if Henry wants to poke through that (though no pressure, it can be completely casual too!)

Ruri Hoshino | Martian Successor Nadesico | Legend
Ruri is going to be aged up into her early 30's, so she can see how basically horrible adults have it, though honestly, she'll still be a deadpan snarker. She will actually mentally age as well, and start to realize that walling off everyone is probably a terrible idea because even if overpowered, everyone here is an idiot. Just not her idiots. She may also start to acknowledge some of her trauma is trauma, and not just everyone around her being crazy.
Ruri doesn't have a lot of maternal instincts though, but she will defend idiots that aren't horrible, so if your kids need someone to aunt them and they are suitibly stupid but not horrible, Ruri is there for them.

Rezo Greywords | Slayers | Myth
I won't be aging Rezo up because like. He's taken from when he dies in canon, there isn't an older version of him available. So! Potential versions of past!Rezo are:
🦊 Tiny Dickensian Orphan Rezo. About age six. Some content warnings for child neglect/abuse and potentially child death, especially if you dig into more detail about his life at the orphanage- the staff that volunteers there are mostly folks doing their best but, um, their best isn't always very good and infant mortality rates are high, so he's already known other kids that have died. Anyway, six year old Rezo is a quiet kid but with a lot of energy and curiosity, and if you let your eyes drift off of him for 0.5 seconds he will have gone off to find some shit to get into. Despite this, he's going to be very scared and uncertain about being in this strange place, surrounded by people he doesn't know, and with weird new appendages. Because he's six.
🦊 Small Noviciate Priest Rezo. About age ten. Again, some warnings for child neglect/abuse and potentially child death, especially if your character is the nosy type who will ask a lot of questions about his life. Anyway, at this age Rezo is still pretty quiet and his curiosity mostly manifests as him doing a lot of silent listening and observing. He's doing his best to be responsible and independent and takes his training as a priest seriously. Still freaked out about being isekai'd/general weirdness but will do better at handling it and hiding his uncertainty.

Loki Odinson | Marvel Cinematic Universe
He will revert to the child version of himself mentally, which will mean that while he's very intelligent and capable, he is still very much learning magic, and someone ought to look out for him (even if he doesn't want to admit he needs it).
He'll be fiercely independent while desperately missing his parents, his palace, and his big brother who he looks up to a lot.

wanderer (kabukimono) | genshin impact | familiar
Kabukimono is much more kind, naive, and sociable than his current self. At first he will be anxious about, from his perspective, being suddenly whisked away from Tatarasuna, but he is also easily distracted and will be overcome by curiosity and excitement about being in a new place with lots of new things. He'll want to explore, help anyone in need, and gain as much knowledge as he can! Additionally, he won't be able to use any magic anymore or have any real fighting experience but his body will still be as durable as ever.
I welcome all kinds of CR for this, from people who would want to befriend and/or protect Kabukimono to people who would take advantage of his naivety (but not in a super traumatizing way)! When he eventually reverts back to Wanderer, he will retain Kabukimono's memories, so how you treat Kabukimono could help or hurt your CR with Wanderer later.

Lan Wangji | The Untamed | Legend
He also has issues speaking to others and being touched. But if you are calm and gentle, he will open up.
Viktor | Arcane | Myth
I'm on the fence about whether to also de-age his mind too. Part of me thinks it would be cute but part of me would want to keep his memories.

Rhys Dryden || Pathfinder OC || Familiar
In stark contrast to the way current Rhys strictly maintains poise whenever possible, baby Rhys won't have the extensive life experience and practice with meditation to "keep his shit together." He's going to be a lot more physically delicate, very easily affected by the sun, and more weepy/emotional. But he will also be much more openly affectionate with anyone who helps him out. <3
Reno | FFVII CRAU | Familiar
Teen!Reno is going to be outgoing, rebellious, risk-taking... He's even more likely to pick a fight with someone. But at the same time, he's also a lot more gregarious and he will readily adopt any young'uns that he feels a connection with. Usual TW for language, smoking/drug use, but also similar trend for other people of neglect/slum life/poverty, the foundations of why/how Reno became so much more unscrupulous/willing to do So Much Worse as an adult.
But as a kid, much more open and giving and willing to take another kid under his wing. He may not be a "good" babysitter for the bitties running around, but he's all heart.
Art's Bois
Axel will also be de-aged, to about 15. He will be even more hot-headed and outgoing than usual! I have no big plans for him, so am open to any ideas.
Re: Art's Bois
Will Axel be Lea & have past canon stuff going on? :3
Also I can make a starter for Rhys & Marus babies. :) If you decide to Silver Fox later, whew! /fans self
Re: Art's Bois
James Moriarty | Fate/GO | Familiar
I have no concrete plans, but the man will definitely be wavering between his younger self's mind and the cold calculated (but excessively dramatic and seemingly bumbling) mind of his older self! If you want to tun into the true form of this criminal mastermind, then he's all yours!
Cloud Strife | FF7 (OG) | Familiar
Cloud kind of acts like a perpetual big brother, is fun to bully, and will sass a child back if he finds them annoying, but definitely has a soft spot and will quietly look after any strays he spots
