Trial 4 Plotting Post
Welcome to our plotting post for this month's event! This plotting page will not include any generic mingle introductions found on the live event. If you have questions about the trial, let us know down below!
Feel free to use the following form for your plotting!
Content Warnings: Willing or unwilling memory shares, possible dangers depending on memories, potential death/injury through canon memories, alternative versions of characters, influenced psychological states of mind, fantasy-centric transportation of soul/body, being trapped
Massive bubbles form and float throughout Folkmore. Some massive, some small, but all easy enough to see with the naked eye. They sparkle and shine, radiating unusual colors and as one floats by, you see things happening inside. Looks like these aren't ordinary bubbles in the slightest...
THE MEMORY BUBBLES
People who touch the bubbles, whether by accident or on purpose, will pop out of thin air! The next thing you know, you are inside what Amrita refers to as the Memory Bubbles. Predictably, memories are stored inside of these bubbles: memories of all those who currently live in Folkmore. You may find yourself in a stranger's memory, a friend's memory, or one of your own. But one thing is for sure: you won't be alone! Touching a Memory Bubble causes an enormous drain of Lore Energy and replenishes this by snatching up whoever is around to throw into the Memory Bubble with you. Sorry!
You two will need to interact and bring up the Lore Energy to get out of the memory! Don't worry. This won't drain your spoons. If you refuse to interact, you will be stuck in the Memory Bubble rather indefinitely...And relics won't be on your person when you arrive.
The memory itself will take place in a specific location at a specific time. This may be limited to a room or an entire world but the core memory of the bubble will continually repeat itself. You will not be able to bring anything out of the memory...But the memory is tangible. You may be subject to maiming or injury by any monsters or enemies in the memory. If you die in the memory? You will wake back up in the memory and each death will become increasingly painful. The memory can be simple or complex, good or bad, dangerous or safe. The point is that it should be an important memory to one of the characters present in the thread.
More than two characters can participate in the Memory Bubbles. You will grow hungry and tired as you normally may in the real world. It is believed experiencing the memory in full will provide enough Lore Energy to send you back to Folkmore...But some people may discover they have to have some rather involved interactions and conversations to really boost the Lore Energy.
If it is your character's memory, you have two choices: either your character manifests in the memory as they were the day of that memory (ie; your character is temporarily reverted to a child for a memory from their childhood and may interact with other characters as that child) or your character will arrive in the memory as is from Folkmore. Characters can interact with characters from memories so if you wanted your girlfriend to meet your mom...Now is a great time! Tampering with memories here won't actually impact any trajectory in your life, so no worries about timeline fuck-ups!
For those confused or especially anxious about the circumstances, Thirteen may appear in the memories to provide a bit of information on what's going on and what they need to do to leave.
You may choose to explore memories from beyond your character's canon point or from alternative routes your character may have experienced if they chose a different path. You can invent memories or use canon memories. You may even distort memories if a character doesn't have the correct memories. It's a flexible system, but the memories must come from someone currently in-game. Please make sure to obtain permission about memories from all parties involved to avoid potential spoilers or stepping on any toes.
When you finally do have enough Lore Energy, the Memory Bubble will burst. You and your companions will float down gently to the ground and be able to go on your merry way!
EXCESS BUBBLES
Thankfully, not all memories come to form Memory Bubbles. Some just generate enough energy to create surprisingly sturdy, large bubbles that carry along with the breeze. It might seem like a break from the memories, but if these bubbles come within a few feet of you, regardless of any powers you may have, they snatch you right up and trap you inside. You won't be lost in a memory...You'll just be...
Trapped inside of a bubble. Floating around Folkmore. Hopefully, you still have your relic on you since you will be able to transmit messages this way - but if not...You're out of luck! Anyone trapped within the bubble can't get themselves out - even if they have the abilities to do so. Something about the bubble just nullifies abilities...This means they aren't easy to save people from either.
If another character touches the bubble, they will just get sucked into the bubble with the other person. This might get a little cramped!
Being inside of the excess bubbles isn't especially exciting. You aren't trapped in a memory, but you're incapable of getting out. You can be heard/seen through the bubble, so at least that's on your side.
The trick to popping bubbles is through long-distance attacks. The moment you're within a few feet of the bubble, any powers and weapons are rendered useless. So, anyone with projectile weapons or abilities? It is your time to shine. It's a good thing bubbles generally move rather slowly!
Except some...Some dart about when people try to knock them down. You will want to be near enough to catch anyone inside as well or else your attempt at "saving" them might result in a splattered mess. No one wants that.
A few damsels have been caught up in these bubbles already! You can find Sunny, Hazel, Kaeya Alberich, Wei Wuxian, Sophie Groeneveldt, Minato Arisato, Caleb Widogast, John Egbert, Flynn Scifo, Tony Stark (EMH), Keyleth, and Rhys Dryden in these bubbles. Their bubbles are especially fast and sturdy. You will have to add some serious firepower to burst their bubbles...!

Content Warnings: Extreme weather conditions, torrential downpours, flooding, thunder/lightning, high winds. Possible injury/death through these circumstances, possible shark attacks, sucking life energy from people.
The problem with the past is that sometimes it will catch up with you no matter what you do. All of those Memory Bubbles grow and expand, floating up and filling the skies above with glimmers of people's memories. And when they burst...the unique Lore Energy gathered from the Memory Bubbles will fill up the sky and gather in massive, swelling clouds.
August is filled with rumbling thunder over the hills and a downpour that makes June seem barren. Storms crash throughout Folkmore, regardless of where you may be, and the downpour seems to go on and on. The Lakes begin to overflow and you will find streets flooded and maybe, if you're unlucky, your home flooded too. Those living in Tree Houses or in the Satori Hills Apartments may be patting themselves on the back right about now...But anyone else...Good luck!
This isn't standard flooding though. The water has been enriched by Lore Energy and you will be able to find a variety of mythical-looking sea creatures. More than that? The Lore Energy has flooded into the very air around you which means you shouldn't be too surprised if you see jellyfish floating by your house or a school of fish darting around. If you jump up, you will discover your can actually...float through the sky as though you are underwater and swim about.
It's a little unusual with the real water down below, but sometimes magic doesn't make sense. However, people who are struggling with letting go of things will find that they...don't float so easily. They will come crashing back down. Maybe talking out your feelings and allowing yourself to clean up any lingering doubts will do wonders for your soul and lighten the burden.
Some people who do provide forgiveness to themselves and others will swim easily through the air. Some may even find themselves capable of temporarily transforming into mythological sea creatures, whether mermaids or hippocampi. For some, this may become a permanent ability when in bodies of water should they learn to master the skill. We will not be moderating this and players may choose what it takes for their character to acquire this ability on a permanent basis.
It's a good thing either way because with the recurring storms throughout August and increased likelihood of dangerous floods...It might be handy to have some merfolk around to help save people from potentially drowning. Alternatively, some may find it incredibly soothing to stand out in the rain and just allow it to let it wash away your worries. Some may find they can achieve a potential Role Shift or Power Up when they allow themselves to enjoy the rain. This means they might switch from Familiar to Legend or Myth or vice versa and they may have increased abilities. They will additionally feel an increased boost of positive emotions.
The waters and storms will begin to recede towards the end of August. This will leave Folkmore filled with mud and some crawly critters, but after that has passed, there will be one last burst of greenry before the inevitable rotation into fall.
This isn't a good situation for damsels either. The following situations could happen to anyone but...these are some of the first to go: Yuri Lowell, Mariane Cousland, Lan Bo, Nico di Angelo, and Bella Swan will find themselves getting trapped and locked into place by some weirdly aggressive seaweed that has sprouted up out of the earth. This seaweed isn't as harmless as it looks though! As the hours tick by, it slowly drains its victims of life, making them more and more zapped of energy. This can eventually kill someone if they are left too long. Breaking them out of the seaweed isn't as easy as untangling them either. You will need a blade made of pure gold to cut through the seaweed.
Next are the lonely sharks. These aggressive beasts are more like giant puppies with desperation for companionship. They flock to people they can find and shake their bodies, filling the "water"/air around them with hazy flecks of silver. This will put anyone into a compliant trance and the lonely sharks will pull them off and keep them as a neat trinkets in their caves and grottos. These sharks will bring their captives shiny objects and food...But they really don't want you to leave and can get aggressive with those who try! The strange silver magic they emit has a nullifying effect on abilities or the desire to leave.
These sharks will get incredibly vicious if you try to attack them or steal their pet away. You can kill them, certainly, as you would a regular shark...But the true way to "defeat" these beasts is by giving them a big old hug and some snuggles. These guys might be terrifying to look at, but at the end of the day, they are also just kind of lonely. They will sadly release their new pets. The damsels they capture are as follows: Gwenhwyfar, Asahi Yuki, Steve Rogers (MCU), Mary Bennet, and Milo/Lucien Crown.

Content Warnings: Alternate versions of characters,
The Summer Games of Camp Camelot come rain or shine! Amrita seems rather good at keeping the floods away from most of the camp (though don't be shocked if your cabins get a bit wet...) and she has no intentions of slowing down!
This month's games are a bit...kinder than last month's, let's just say. Or at the very least, you have a lower chance of being completely mauled by some bizarre creature. Erm. If you ignore the fact that there might be some great white sharks swimming around in the air nearby...
Anyway! The Summer Games! Come and enjoy for you will likely wind up with some neat prizes!
CAPTURE THEFLAG CHARACTER
Nothing like an old classic! For Camp Camelot, the teams are already chosen based on what Cabin you are in. Red, orange, green, and purple! Each character will be blessed with a temporary glowing fox tail in the color of their cabin that floats just behind them. Guess there is no way to cheat your team in this! Each team will have a base they must protect! But that's not it...You have a flag to protect too! Only in this case, it's not a flag...It's a character. Damsels have been selected for each team and will be completely glowing the color of their team along with their magical fox tail. Talk about being an eye sore!
That isn't all though! The Flag Character will have their powers completely nerfed at this time. They will also inspire an insatiable urge in opposing teams. People will want to chase and catch the flags and bring them back to their own bases! Even if you're normally a friendly person, seeing a Flag Character will make you go absolutely bonkers. Ya gotta have them!
This enchantment will only happen during the day between 12:00-5:00 pm. All enchantments will wear off afterward.
Red Team: The base for the Red Team is the area around the Firepits. Red Flag Characters: Arashi Kishuu and Reko Yabusame.
Orange Team: The base for the Orange Team will be anywhere around the Cabins. Orange Flag Characters: G'raha Tia and Eleanor.
Green Team: The base for the Green Team will be in a small patch of woods somewhere between the Docks and the Camp. Green Flag Characters: Izuku Midoriya and Ken Kaneki.
Purple Team: The base for the Purple Team is the area around the Docks. Purple Flag Characters: Judith and Tinya Wazzo
The objective is to get as many Flag Characters to your base or to keep your team's Flag Characters safe. Anyone who is NOT a Flag Character will have their usual abilities. As there will be multiple rounds of this throughout August, we trust players to just consensually decide on who "wins" in each cycle. There is no real prize for this specific game - it is more a matter of testing one's abilities to be able to rescue and protect.
STAR CATCHERS
The next game begins when the sun sets and stars begin to fill the sky. If people have been paying attention to the skies of Folkmore, they would instantly realize that there are far more stars than usual up above. Vibrant, colorful stars seem to be shooting across the sky, off to land in foreign worlds...Or in this one. You might see these colorful stars come hurtling down towards the ground and Amrita encourages people to try and catch as many as they can.
If the stars land, they will cause an enormous, dazzling burst of light to pop off silently into the air. These stars will manifest as different variations of characters present in-game! Older versions, younger versions, gender-swapped, evil versions, good versions...There seems to be no rhyme or reason! But the Star Variation of the character will be able to go about and do as they please for the majority of August until they are either killed or naturally turn back into stardust.
Now, what happens if you actually catch one of these stars? Well! You will become a different version of yourself. Either one of the variations listed above or the Absolute Version of yourself: the ideal you whether good or bad. You will feel perfect in this form. Catching the stars is tricky, but gosh, is it worth it! This version of you will too eventually fade to stardust or end if you are killed. Those who catch stars may be granted temporary abilities in accordance with the stars.
Basically: if you catch a star, you become a different version. If you don't catch the star, a different version of you will be walking around out of your control. Does anyone actually really want to exist like Thirteen where there are all these variations of her walking around...? Well maybe...What do we know?
It is possible to snuff the stars out. If you catch them in a bag and immediately contain them, there will be no variation to form. Instead, you will be gifted with a rare star stone that can grant the catcher a power boost or a sense of calm. These star stones are highly valuable but only work if they are on the person when they are being used. They cannot be broken or destroyed but they can be lost.

Re: Questions
And nope, not this time around! The seaweed is literally just catching prey and eating it with the sole purpose of survival like any other lifeform. The sharks aren't evil in the slightest - quite the opposite, really. Even the memory bubbles aren't inherently good or bad.
Some of the stars falling may be "evil" but that would be dependent on the characters they are falling for.
