Announcements and Feedback

Hello Folkies! This is our monthly Story of Us post where we get together to make game announcements, ask for any feedback or suggestions, partake in character relationship memes and open up our invites for the upcoming application cycle!

Check out the bottom of this post for important dates to keep an eye on!

Announcements
We will be holding bi-monthly Texts From Last Night posts on our OOC community. Both players and non-players are welcome to tag into this. Players can use these posts for their spoons and tentative new players can use these posts for samples on their applications. If accepted into the game, you can also use your TFLN posts for spoons!

The upcoming event for July will have an element that will extend between July and August. This will involve characters feeling heavily pressured to gravitate to a unique location known as Camp Camelot located nearby the Lakes in Willow.

This location will not be accessible until the event begins. Characters will be able to go to and from the camp at will but most will feel enormously pressured by the general state of the game to actively attend the camp either as campers or counselors! Most of July and August's events will have to do with the camp, but fear not! There will still be prompts available in both July and August for those who might want to do things beyond the camp.

From July 1st to July 12th, characters throughout Folkmore will be gifted a fox beret with a matching orange Camp Camelot shirt, a pair of orange shorts, an optional clip-on orange fox tail, and some nifty knee-high white socks with orange bands at the top. You will be provided with a set of orange hiking boots that, instead of ridges on the feet, have paw prints. These outfits will appear in a neat pile somewhere in your character's home and will be custom fit to their exact measurements and body types!

Invitations

Our game is invite-only which means in order to make a reserve or apply, you must have an invite from a current player in-game! Players are not required to give invites. Invites are open between the 22nd of every month and close on the 5th of the following month when applications open. All invites expire after that application cycle ends.

Players are limited to one invite per round unless they have purchased an additional invite slot through Spoons. If using an additional invite slot, please make sure to link to your purchase in your invite form.

Invites allow new players to reserve/apply to the game. Invites do not guarantee that new players will get in. Some invites may not be accepted and we will message players on a case-by-case basis if necessary.

Players only require an invite for their first application. Once they are a player in the game, they can apply as more characters at a later date. If a player drops completely from the game, they will require a new invite to get back in.

Character Name: Flynn Scifo
Character Age: 21
Characer Species: Human
Character Details: Even though he doesn't spend ALL his time in his full plate armor anymore, Flynn's pretty stacked because of it. He has a lighter voice than you might expect, given how tall he is (5'11"). He also moves with a great deal of containment & control.
Character Summary: A JRPG magic knight who in any other game would have been the protagonist, Flynn is a friendly, polite golden retriever wrapped up in armor and layers of duty & obligation. He's great with a sword and less great with words, he's a workaholic who takes on way too much responsiblilty for the world, and he wants! to be! your friend!

Character Role: Legend
Character Role Deets: Flynn's got little white wings (currently non-functional, flying-wise) and a golden halo, very much your textbook Legend, and he's trying to feel like he's earned that role, but it's tough.
Character Living Quarters: In a little cottage in Willow
Character Schools: Flynn: teaches a class at the fighting school and attends at least one class at every other school because he's a tired overachiever. Catch him running between classes with food in his mouth like an anime kid
Day to Day Life: Class! Homework! Training! Teaching! Literally just that on repeat, he is constantly busy doing Important Class Things to try and reach his potential. Hard to get him to take a break.

Current Mindset/Health: Flynn is making his peace with what it means to be a Legend and doing absolutely everything possible to both live up to the designation and maximize his potential. He's taken the chance Folkmore offers to better yourself as a directive and is convinced that if he doesn't, his world at home is about to get a lot worse. "Hey Flynn where is that pressure coming from" trick question, himself, he's excellent at putting pressure on himself.
Recent Developments: He decided this month with Yuri that they're going to work together to try and find a way to fix some of the large problems at home, so he's more committed to this journey than ever.

Goals For Your Character: I would like Flynn to get some real, mutually-supportive friendships. He's basically never had this outside of Yuri. Ultimately, my goal is to get him to understand that he doesn't actually have to try SO hard all the time, and to consistently be his real, goofy, 21-year-old self without feeling the need to cover himself up or hold the entire world on his shoulders.
Problems With Your Character: Flynn's been hiding himself and code-switching now for YEARS. He's fluent in every language but his own, he's great at faking it until he makes it, he absolutely just powers through whatever discomfort he's got going on. He's also kind of judgy about other people's life choices.

Wanted CR: Friends, particularly ones who are also dealing with a lot of responsibility and feeling like they don't fit in! Mentor figures, and younger folks he can help guide. Down for ill-advised shallow event-based hookups, too!
