Trial Consequences & Continuing Effects
Over the last month, Folkmore experienced:
- Dreadful mist at the border of Exile that caused memories of potential exile to be experienced again. Everyone choosing exile in the mist means passing and an easier time navigating Exile. Anyone involved choosing not to be exiled means failing and further dangerous challenges in Exile.
- The choice to participate in deciding the route of the Encantado River by transporting jewels from the old riverbed to the new or water from the new to the old. Both involve challenges!
These led to the following
lasting consequences:
- The path of the Encantado lies in the balance. Its course hasn't fully been determined yet.
These
effects continue:
- The mist border to Exile remains, a trial every time someone enters or exits Exile.
Thirteen's iteration Baba Yaga continues to lead Folkmore. Star Children can tell by the events continuing to focus around Exile. Not only the previous border and river path but also the quest for apples that prove important when facing the wolves.
Star Children may contact Baba Yaga via sending flares or reflecting light in Exile. Morse code can be used when reflecting light with mirrors to send specific messages or ask questions. Messages in light will come back, whether via candles flickering in Exile, a pattern of shooting stars, or other sources of light.
Weather & New Environmental Effects
- Fog continues but lessens in effect throughout Folkmore. It's possible to see through with visual abilities, technological or magical. The clear period around 11 am grows longer, with fog evaporating sooner and taking longer to return.
- Wind increases over the month. It carries sounds long and far, so that Star Children and spirits hear things from far away. Voices get accentuated and difficult to recognize, but the words get carried. Sometimes the wind is barely unintelligible, like with focus it might be understood. No matter how much one listens in those instances, it is just out of reach. Make sure to place something protective around candles and other open flames, or they may be extinguished.
- The wind seems capable of slipping through cracks and into housing where Star Children sleep. It may be harder to rest, and the temperature a few degrees cooler than usual at night indoors.
