Hello Folkies! Please pretend that this post is not late. It's been a weird few weeks.
Setting Stuff: 13 November to 12 December
🦊 Very suspiciously, there has been no change in the weather whatsoever; it's doing precisely what it has done in the past thirty-ish days ... except for one thing, and that's the wind—and only on Mondays and Thursdays after the 22nd of November. Yes, it does seem as if the wind is keeping a calendar, and it also seems as if the wind is drunk. Changing direction and intensity rather abruptly, it will go from being a no-wind day to suddenly flinging around your lawn furniture, and the dogsled teams are going to be having some issues.
In different regions, the variance will be more or less intense at different times, meaning OOCly that you can play around with this as much or as little as suits your scene.
🦊 Is this because Kuma Lisa is still the Fox iteration at the wheel? That's the most likely theory. Any other theories floating around are unfounded, even if the spirit in question tells you that they're 100% certain it's because of the cycles of the third moon of the fifth planet of a system you've never heard of. And that they've never heard of, because they just made it up. The wisps are completely innocent of any involvement, really and truly.
🦊 Star Children may notice the occasional goat or alpaca wandering around a public space, ambling at a relaxed pace. They don't interact with anyone else except for one male alpaca spotted buying groceries. No one can ask him what he's doing because he always has a shopping bag in his mouth and is unable to answer.
Mod Notes & Reminders
🦊 The October/November TDM is still active and kicking until the arrival of the December/January TDM, and you're welcome to keep playing and top-leveling! There's now a plurk post if you'd like to get more eyeballs on a November TL.
🦊 December will be a normal month for Folkmore with no changes to the application or check-in cycle. For those who are utterly consumed by Life Things for the month, please try to toss up a check-in or hiatus comment beforehand. If you are going to play in December at all, even just backtags, please don't take a hiatus! Hiatus is for those who will be completely away from the game for the dates listed and is purely administrative in nature. If you're just going to be slower than normal, no need to let the mods know. We're not keeping track of anybody's pacing. (If you take a hiatus and end up wrong about your availability, you are of course allowed to play, you're not banned just for hiatusing—but we do ask that if you do anything that ICly happens in December, you check in for December as normal.)
🦊 There will be a new check-in post for 2024; however it will not be going up until after December's check-in is complete: this means everyone can stop worrying about that particular aspect of game administrivia until January 8th so that we do not have a repeat of the "check-in post starts with December of last year" situation.
🦊 We have some relatively chill interesting new stuff brewing for 2024. It will not involve any changes to timing of the application or check-in cycle either, don't worry.
