The problem being that secrets failing to stay secret, or their meanings distorting over time, can lead to the kinds of confusions where ancient corrupted Magisters escape ancient Warden prisons and end up trying to recreate a Tevinter Imperium that never properly could be what it once was.

The First Warden and the rest are dealing with it in some manner, but I'm not well informed as to their specifics. Not even Hawke of Kirkwall is, from what Viscount Varric last told me.
